Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Can I join too - just got BFP, after 3 miscarriages in last year - a 4 month break to get my cycles straight ( we just got married too :-)) - -so all fingers crossed that this one is a keeper - I hardly dare get excited as all the others were missed MC's before 12 weeks. I am 40 now which sounds so much worse that 39.....

chegirl · 22/08/2009 20:38

Hi Trimummy. Fingers crossed for you here too. Dont feel too old, I am 42

tostaky · 23/08/2009 05:59

Again, im up since 5am because i feel too sick to sleep...
so i ve tried to listen to baby's hb with no luck. i can hear the placenta though but thats about it... im only 8+3 so still super early for sonicaid.

If by next thursday (will be 9 wks) i still havent received any letters about my booking-in appt or 1st scan, i'll call the hospital.

hope everyone is doing well managing tiredness and ms

I'd like to echo that my dd was born April 2007 and when I say unplanned, I found out after my hen weekend and a week before my wedding and had to take time off work to let it all sink in but once you have a scan and see the heartbeat and little hands and start looking at baby clothes your mind soon catches up! Best of luck x

ForcesSweetheart · 23/08/2009 12:50

Have updated list (think my dates are more accurate now after some diary searching) and added newbies.
It hasn't really sunk in yet for me. I expect I'll be having an early scan again this time as I have type 2 diabetes which puts me at high risk of all kinds of complications so I reckon when I get that first scan it'll feel more real. I was only 5 weeks when I had my first scan with DD so hopefully won't have to wait long. Just moved house in last couple of months and haven't registered with a GP yet - so that's gonna have to be a priority tomorrow!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend and enjoying every minute of this. Really looking forward to getting to know you all over the coming months.

Ugh, Pregnant Barbie has just moved into the house behind me. Every time I look out my kitchen window she's there all perky and blonde bouuncing on her bloody exercise trampette out in the garden. She's due in December!! How inadequate do I feel? I'm already feeling inclined to spend the next 8 months on the couch eating chocolate.

LeeWT · 23/08/2009 16:41

Hahaha I live next to one of those! Has popped out three kids in 4 years and is still thinner than I was BEFORE I had dd.. House is immaculate and never a hair out of place.. I live in fear of an impromptu visit from her as my house is 'cosy'!

Down with pregnant Barbie and all her friends!!!!

dani87 · 23/08/2009 18:45

dan187 - Sorry to hear you have been in hospital. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I ended up telling some family members at the weekend, we were hoping to wait until my 12 week scan but it kind of slipped out when I was talking to my sil about fertility issues. The thing is everyone keeps asking me about my plans regarding babies, I must be letting off pregnancy vibes at the moment. When I told my sister she said that she suspected that I was when she saw me last weekend!

I am 7 weeks today and I have received appointments for my booking in appointment with the midwife and 12 week scan although this needs to be rearranged as they have booked me in at the wrong hospital!

Rtuff · 24/08/2009 09:17

Morning everyone,

8+4 today and still feeling really sick! I really hope it starts getting better soon.

I also look like i'm soooo much further along than i am, in maternity clothes already.....

Oh and just noticed there's a May 2010 thread now, so we're getting there ladies!!

thedollshouse · 24/08/2009 09:25

I'm starting to feel a little sick too. In a way i'm quite pleased as I was worried that I didn't have any symptoms!

sausagesupper · 24/08/2009 10:19

God, is it just me? I feel so tired all the time. Even after 10 hours in bed I got up took kids to school and sat down for 5 mins and now I feel like I could sleep for a week. And all weepy too. I'm sitting here crying because I'm so tired. What is wrong with me?

Hi All

Have decided to add my name. I think my EDD is 22 April. This will be DC3. I have a DS (9) and DD (6 soon).

Was not TTC so still in a bit of shock. Have a GP appt on 2 September to see my usual GP but am tempted to change it to an earlier one.

At the moement I feel sick but also flu like. Hot and cold and have a blocked nose so do not feel great.

DH is still getting used to the idea. He is working through his feelings at the moment. It is nice to talk to someone about all this because we want to keep it quiet in RL for a while. BIL and wife had a MMC a few months ago and so we're obviously wondering how to break the news to them.

It looks like April is going to be a busy month

PreciousCargo · 24/08/2009 15:58

Hello all! My DD is 20th April. This is my first and getting excited. Just wish I could see some evidence of the little bean!

Sorry to hear those of you suffering with bad MS, i haven't had that - yet! Just bigger boobs, bloated and a raging appetite. I am permanently tired....boo.

Wishing everyone all the best

fifisboys · 24/08/2009 16:02

WelCome to all the newbies...im finding it hard to keep up with everyone but will try

Can i just ask..am i the only one who has very few symptoms still?? im feeling really exhausted but i have a 3year old and 1 year old to run round after, but i feel like i have no energy atm, my boobs are still sore and have grown as my new bra no longer fits

I have just had a tiny bit of spotting at lunch time, i mean tiny, i wouldnt have noticed if i hadnt looked at the loo roll for some reason. Called epu and they said its really common, and i have no pains and no more since so hopefully it was just implantation or something. Im trying to relax and stay calm, but its hard with 2 toddlers.

Dani87 Glad to hear your feeling a bit better now

tostaky My ds1 was 20month when ds2 was born and i had a double buggy, think it was the maclaren techno, for days when we were going to be out for a long while, and had a buggy board as well for shorter journeys.
The double buggy was such a big help especially as ds1 always climbs off the buggy board and they can be hard work.

Oh and im wanting to order a doppler as well so i can listen to babys hb but im terrified incase theres nothing there

Rtuff i bought my maternity jeans and have been living in leggings as well the past week as all my old jeans are packed away now, im so bloated, im off for more stretchy tops and pants tonight

Bettymum Glad your scan went ok and that you've seen your baby

Hello to everyone else that ive missed

tostaky · 24/08/2009 16:39

Just phoned the hospital and i have my booking-in appt on the 8th and my scan on the 18th (will be 12+1)!! Exciting!

I can feel my jeans are tighter and today ive been eating for four... im really trying to not put on weight though bc i dont want work to know before i get my 1st scan and i know bub is ok...

does the midwife listen to babys hb at the booking-in appt? cant remember!

annlouise75 · 24/08/2009 16:41

Hi all - not been on for a while, so glad (?) to hear everyone is still suffering with a myriad of symptoms. I still have a bit of nausea, mostly in the evenings which makes cooking the evening meal a bit of a problem and generally feel like sleeping, which is unfortunately not possible with a job and 2 year old to entertain (particularly when said 2 year old wakes up in the middle of the night seemingly wanting to play...)

Anyway - question for those with more than one child already - is it appropriate to take a toddler along to the booking in appointment? My appointment on the 2nd Sep is on my day off from work and as such I don't have childcare cover. Wouldn't take him to the scan, but not sure about midwife appt. Any advice?

Rtuff · 24/08/2009 17:00

I didn't take my ds (3 year old) as i managed to book an appointment on a day he was at nursery. However, if you do decide to take dc the only thing i would suggest is take lots of toys etc to try and keep him occupied. If he's anything like my lo, there's no way he would have sat in the midwife's office for an hour. But there was nothing i would say that would prevent him from going, it was mostly just chatting about previous pregnancy and birth, filling in a few forms and just took some blood.

But i agree about the scan, i definitely wouldn't take him to that...

Hope that helps!!

OP posts:
familygirl · 24/08/2009 17:05

Depends on the child I guess-I've always taken mine in the past, as they're happy enough to sit with a book or toy whilst I answer midwife's questions etc. Nothing inappropriate, just whatever you think will work best, I'd say.

Mistymoo · 24/08/2009 17:07

Rtuff - does the booking in appt take an hour??? I can't remember it being anywhere near that long with my other 2

familygirl · 24/08/2009 17:11

That's just what I was thinking, might ring surgery-I really hope not!

tostaky · 24/08/2009 18:27

Im going to take my DS because my appt is at 5pm and with traffic i'll never make it before 6pm to get him from nursery...

i think my booking-in appt was about 1hr last time, so many papers to fill in and have to see someone else for the blood tests.
