Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Hope everything is okay Bettymum.

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 21/08/2009 11:43

Hope all is OK Bettymum.

thedollshouse - I was so angry yesterday, at everyone. No reason for it, bit calmer today though. Hormones eh?!

pillia78 · 21/08/2009 12:07

Hey Tostaky My DS2 is 16 months now and definitely still needs his pram/ pushchair and not sure he would stay put on a Buggyboard!!

chowmein · 21/08/2009 12:46

bettymum, hope everything is ok with your scan

neeko, i got the bellybelt/bumpband, they r ok, at least i dont need to buy new trousers. i dont plan to buy anything maternity clothing till my scan, i duuno it doesn't feel real enough right now. will also dig out all my loose fitting clothes.

belfast bloke, i find any mentioning of celeb yummy mummy getting back into shape in no time unhelpful. DH mentioned jesscia alba the other day, i mean, i dont have a body remotely like hers at the best of times, why does he think i can get a body like that post-birth

LeeWT, i haven't told either side of parents either. dont want any pressure, although have told my sis and will need to tell my supervisor at work as i sometimes need to deal with chemicals at work.

i m originally from hk, and am chinese, although i've been living in the uk for 15 yrs. chinese r superstitous and there's a whole lots of do and donts on top of the normal one. chinese herbs that you should and shouldn't eat etc. dont want my relatives to know yet, or they'll bombard me with instructions, and i'll feel guilty not doing them in case something goes wrong. i say ignorance is bliss!

Bettymum · 21/08/2009 13:38

Hello girls,
Thank you for your kind wishes! Everything OK, saw the bean with its little heart beating away, it is exactly the right size for dates. So very relieved. They said the cramping can be very common and is nothing to worry about. We celebrated by getting fish and chips on the way home.
They tried to scan my ovaries too but they couldn't find them as they were obscured by "bowel gas" .

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 21/08/2009 13:50

LOL at bowel gas Glad everything is OK.

CinnabarRed · 21/08/2009 14:14

Great news Bettymum - very for you and for the rest of us who still haven't seen our beans!

tostaky · 21/08/2009 15:18

Pillia the phil and ted is sooo expensive i was hoping the buggy board would be fine...

anyone else finding it hard to keep DCs busy with morning sickness & tiredness? i feel like a bad mum to leave my DS play on his own at home instaed of taking him out...

Hi,

Can I join please? i found out at the weekend that I am pregnant and estimate my due date as 25th April.

I have 2 year old identical twins already so I think it may still feel a little bit like it's all new to me, having 1 baby (I hope!).

I miscarried my first pregnancy at 6 weeks so am very nervous and am going to delay booking my doctors appointment until I've passed 6 weeks I think.

Abubu x

BelfastBloke · 21/08/2009 18:18

My DW has been touchy about her weight since the birth of our baby 20mths ago.

Always tried to hide her belly from me when getting dressed, or during sex.

Now that she's pregnant, suddenly she loves having her belly rubbed.

Not that there's any sex these days after months of TTC.

Not, at least, together . . .

ForcesSweetheart · 21/08/2009 18:42

Hi Everyone,
Just got a very feint positive on an early PT and ovusoft is calculating my due date as around 6th May. As I'm diabetic I won't be allowed to go full-term and will be delivered at least 2 wks before EDD so I'll probably be having an end of April baby.
I have a 3.5 yo DD at the mo, and have only been back at work 6 weeks after taking a career break to be at home with her!

Hello Ladies (and Gent!)

Just found you guys and wondering if I could join?

This is my (totally unplanned) first time PG and am bricking it to say the least. EDD is 31st March!

LeeWT · 21/08/2009 19:16

congrats bettymum!!! so delighted for you and so jealous!! the funny thing is i'm 7 weeks tomorrow and can have a scan whenever i want but the nerves would do me in after mc so waiting for a while (i think i'm being quite strong!)

welcome all the newcomers, abubu twin identical girls would be my dream come true tho i guess people always think they want twins when actually its v hard work.. the few people that know about the baby think im having twins due to my bump but from what everyone on here is saying, you are just bigger on your second and subsequent beans!

chowmein would you believe that with the last baby which we lost, i told ONLY my mum, who told my nanna and my dad. my dad told all his friends including one that works in my old workplace, he told the canteen ladies, and they told my friends - within 24 HOURS!! Meanwhile my nanna was busy telling anyone she could find in the phonebook.

That said, if i can hide the growing bump i'll be doing well..

belfastbloke sorry to hear you are having a drought! what about trying a datenight if you can get a babysitter. i find when i'm dolled up i feel less conscious?

tostaky could you try ebay? i def think you'd need a double lucky you!

BelfastBloke · 21/08/2009 19:45

Maybe I should try ebay . . .

wellieboot · 21/08/2009 21:12

Going back to the subject of what not to say to a pregnant woman, my doctor came up with a great one today. My nausea has got really bad in the last few days and I couldn't eat a single thing yesterday and was even gagging on water. Have been in bed for the last 3 days. So I went in this morning feeling utterly miserable and he prescribed me some meds (prochloperazine) saying - you'd better have these because lets face it, if you're this bad already at 7 weeks it's only going to get worse isn't it.

Then he said that I'd better get some strong contraception in after this one because it only gets worse in each pregnancy and therefore I don't want to be doing this again!!!?!??!

I am feeling better this evening thanks to the meds I think, but feeling really worried about taking them (although I had them with dd and she is fine). At least I am now able to get some food and water down though....

AdelaideJo · 21/08/2009 21:19

Wellieboot I can honestly say i've NEVER heard than MS increases with each pregnancy...is your GP a loony? Can anyone else verify this ?

I had nausea only with DS (which i combatted by carrying oatcakes in my pocket AT ALL TIMES - was in crumb-y clothing hell!) and so far am only nauseous with this current pregnancy..but now i'm wondering if its coming....!

Prisci · 21/08/2009 22:20

Hurricane 'Bill' is coming and it is not even a metaphor for being PG, we are in Bermuda the gale force wind, the rain has started but the worse should be during the night. I think we are ready plenty of bottle water, candles, everything we can fit in the house is inside, we've even put sandbags outside the doors so the water does not get in. It was not without a few arguments, gosh I am terrible, my patience is down to zero.

tostaky I am also feeling very mean as I can't give DS as much attention as I would like, I usually never allow him to watch TV but this has gone out of the window in the past few weeks. I am jus so tired.

DP brought some chinese food yesterday, I almost threw up on him, I could not handle the smell.

My craving are also, so different this time, I only want to eat fruit and broccoli, as well as spicy food.

Anyhow, going to close the shutters now, at least the electricity has not been cut yet .

BelfastBloke · 21/08/2009 22:34

Take care Prisci.

lineky · 22/08/2009 11:49

Dear wellieboot I was prescribed the same yesterday but it has made me silly lightheaded and DH doesn't want me to take it! I am torn because for the first time in 2 weeks I don't feel sick but I can hardly sit upright

helpet · 22/08/2009 13:17

Hi all

Can I join? Think I'm due on around 23 April. Have a ds who's 19 months old. Had an mc in July so my heart is in my mouth - slightly wondering if I should even join this thread (tempting fate etc). Oh well - fingers crossed this pip sticks.

Anyone else find that HCG (presumably) gives you insomnia? It's how I know I'm pregnant - literally 4 days after conception and I can't sleep anymore! With DS this only stopped when he was born and then I could have slept for years - except of course I couldn't - newborns don't let you!!

wellieboot · 22/08/2009 15:06

hmmm lineky - difficult one. I would tell the doc what side effects you are getting and see what they say. Is your DH worried about the lightheadedness or the fact that you're taking meds whilst pregnant? I would say if your sickness is at a level you can cope with, don't take them, but if it is so unbearable that you can't take another minute, use them and don't feel bad about it. I have taken 24 hours worth now and although I still don't feel great and am in bed most of the day, I will be able to get through the next few weeks like this so for me it is the right decision at the moment.

Welcome helpet

ReneRusso · 22/08/2009 19:18

Wellieboot, this is my 3rd pregnancy and the morning sickness has actually improved with each one. Some doctors just seem so negative about pregnancy don't they? Hope you feel better soon.

chegirl · 22/08/2009 19:19

Hello all!

I have been away for a few days. I was going a bit mad and it has helped me a bit thank goodness!

I think I had a bug. I know how horrible the first few weeks can be but I do think there was something else as well. I am feeling better and sleeping better so have more energy. I was going to book in on Friday but cancelled so I could go away for a bit.

I would rather book in a bit later anyway. I hate doctors (not personal) and hospitals. I keep my appts to a minimum (but go to all necessary ones of course).

I am trying to keep busy as it helps with the anxiety I have been feeling.

Hope you are all ok x
