Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Hello ladies (and gent!)
I am with you on the growing tummy front...all my trousers are feeling tight but I haven't put any weight on. I just think sod it, when I've had this baby there's plenty of time to exercise and do sit ups .
I went and bought two pairs of maternity work trousers on Tuesday, New Look are pretty good and not too expensive, the worrying thing was that they already fit quite nicely (they are under the bump ones), I think I will be in them very soon! My cunning plan is to wear these instead of the ones I had last time so my boss doesn't think hmm, scruffy brown linen trousers OMG that's her maternity wear! Mind you he is a man (no offence BelfastBloke) and therefore probably not remotely aware of my trouser wardrobe.
Had a panic today when DH phoned to say that the doctors surgery had just called to see if I could go to my booking appointment at 11am today instead of midday and I said No! It's next week! So phoned the surgery in a panic and she said oh yes, it's next week. Phew. I'm an hour away from the surgery and in the middle of a big project that needs to be done by tomorrow.
Right, I'm rambling now, back to checking documents...

Hi, sorry to crash your thread just wanted to quickly say a big congrats to Bettymum, I am on the Feb thread that you were on and just so pleased to see that you are pg again so soon. Big hugs xxx

chowmein · 20/08/2009 10:51

cinnabar, sorry to hear about your loss. i lost my aunt too around the time i got my bfp. such is life, life is created n lost all around us, i only notice that in the past few yrs as l get older. u need to find time to chill n relax tho.

i m wearing my looser trousers, and unbutton my jeans and covered with bump band. got mine from mama n papas. i try to eat normal tho, dont want to put on too much weight, i m quite small, any extra weight is v noticeable.

not much symptoms, boobs r sore, but they r not much bigger , i've small boobs, 32A, always wonder what it's like to have bigger boobs .

around where i live in harrow, the gp sends letter to hospital, then mw calls u around 8 wks, and should have 1st mw appointment and scan at 10wks, then there'd be another 2 scans. only my gp was v confusing and gave me a number to call some centralised medical centre, the mw who picked up the call was v nice tho.

Bettymum · 20/08/2009 11:21

Hi Pops78 that is so sweet of you! We were quite surprised

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 20/08/2009 11:24

Lee - My belly button is also deformed, I'll probably need surgery to pull my stomach muscles back together after this one, was supposed to have done after DD but chickened out. That should fix my belly button apparently.

Fifi - Yep I reckon it's our crappy muscles, I'm quite slim too so I suppose that makes it more noticeable.

Cinnabar - Sorry to hear about your DP's Nan. Take it easy.

I've seen my GP but don't have a booking in appointment as of yet or have any idea about scan dates. If it wasn't for the waves of panic I keep getting I'd forget I was pregnant. The only symptoms I have are sore/bigger boobs and occasional dizziness.

april20 · 20/08/2009 12:00

Thanks snow tiger, this sounds horrible but does this sound familiar to anyone - there was a stangeyellowy jellyish like substance when i went to the loo earlier. I know it souns horrible but i'm worried, i am 5 weeks pregnant does anyone know what it may be?

Rtuff · 20/08/2009 12:04

Hello everyone!

How are you all today?

Well i had my booking in appointment (which lasted an hour!!) the other day. Much to my initial dissapointment i seem to have the same midwife who got it sooo wrong when i was in labour with DS1. She misdiagnosed him being breech, said he was in the right position when i went in, only to find out when i asked for an epidural that he was footling breech! Plus she strapped a moniter to my tummy to monitor baby's heartbeat and didn't bother reading it until i pointed out his heartbeat was going from 60 upto 120! So rushed in for emergency c-section, 2 blood transfusions, collapsed in the shower and spent 7 days in hospital afterwards! So as you can imagine i was not best please when i saw her again, plus her reaction "i recognise you, have i seen you before?" arghhhh!!!!

Anyway, enough of my moaning, in the end she turned out quite helpful and refered me to a consultant most likely to agree to an elective c-section this time round. There is no way i'm going through that experience again! My theory is, she's going to spend alot more time and attention making sure she gets it right this time round seeing as she got it sooo wrong last time.

Hope i haven't scared anyone with my story!! Especially 1st timers!

Plus on top of this were trying to sell our house, so trying to keep it in show home state with a 3 year old is very difficult!

I too have already got a ver small bump and trousers are very tight so am waiting for a whole bunch of maternity clothes to be delivered! I can't wait to be comfortable!

oopps... i didn't spell check any of that nor did i read it back, a bit jumbled!

Snowtiger · 20/08/2009 12:12

Hi all
Fifisboys, I know what you mean, i feel more pg now that I've seen the GP and am on the system IYKWIM. Just starting to get my head around it a bit, although every now and then the wave of panic about how I'll cope with a toddler and a newborn hits and I have to siit down (with biscuits!).

Cinnabar, so sorry about your DP's Nan, I hope you're both getting lots of love and support in RL. Good luck getting all your work done on time.

April20, I've had a similar discharge - one of my books says that's quite normal in the first couple of months so I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about. If in doubt you could always call NHS direct maybe?

Am packing to go on holiday on Saturday (DS's 2nd birthday), have a list as long as my arm as my brain has turned to porridge and I'm paranoid about forgetting something. Have been up to my eyes in mozzie repellant, suncream, nappies, clothes, travel stairgates etc. for what seems like hours but sneaking a bit of MNing as I'm procrastinating about finishing the packing! Worryingly small number of clothes in my wardrobe still actually fit, think I might be spending the next week in a sarong. God only knows what I'll be able to wear when I get back!

Right, back to it... where did I put that list?

CinnabarRed · 20/08/2009 13:16

Ooh, Snowtiger, have a great time on hliday but be really careful with insect repellent - virtually all of them can't be used when pregnant. You probably already know this, but thought I'd mention it just in case....

devotion · 20/08/2009 13:18

Bettymum - pops78 told is about you over on the feb thread and just want to say, "CONGRATULATIONS!"

wishing you and all the mums on here a happy and healthy pregnancy

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

april20 · 20/08/2009 14:34

thanks for the advice snow tiger - im sure it will be nothing, just worried. I spoke to a helpline and they said if anything had gone wrong at this stage i would see blood. so fingers crossed. how far gone are you - i am- weeks!

BelfastBloke · 20/08/2009 15:19

Thanks a lot to all those who said I could stay on this thread.

Would some of you care to contribute to a list of "What a man should not say" when hanging out with 40 pregnant women?

hoops997 · 20/08/2009 17:57

belfastbloke my lovely bloke started singing 'who ate all the pies' the other day when my trousers wouldn't do up......

pillia78 · 20/08/2009 19:19

I know it is very early to be thinking about prams but I am a pram addict and LOVE them! Anyway have just seen that Phil and Teds have launched the Hammerhead which looks great but does anyone else have any thoughts on good doubles?

PrincessTweetz · 20/08/2009 20:22

Hello every1!!!! I haven't been on here 4 while...well I've popped on 2 read the messages but finding it verrrry uncomfy sitting at comp..maybe that's also down to the fact that I sit on a chair that was made 4 me when I was 6 years old haha...not good 4 a growing bum like mine!
I'm 8 weeks 2day....goin so slow tho, not got my midwife til 7th Sept, feels like a lifetime away, but still, I got a family reunion that I'm meant 2 b goin 2 on Saturday, n then the following Saturday it's my lil girl's 2nd Birthdy, so a Princess party just 4 her then...a lot 2 keep me busy until the 7th lol...
Hope every1's doin well...I'm also off out 2moz 2 buy a couple of maternity trousers...this is madness...I went up 2 just over 10 stone last time, n still managed 2 wear a size 10 pair of trousers(with the button undone!!) right til my last month, but now I've back-of-the-wardrobed 4 pairs of jeans already, n a pair of comfy trousers are no longer comfy!! It's all my partner's treat tho, so feeling very happy hehe! My sister n cousin are also convinced I'm havig twins....we'll see!!!!

LeeWT · 20/08/2009 20:33

Not even funny that my trousers are tight. How the hell am I going to hide this?! and is there ANY chance that i can blame the baby rather than being generally fat ?

Also we havent told either family namely because with the last pregnancy (which we had mmc) both of them blabbed to everyone including the postman.. my father in particular is INCAPABLE of staying quiet. they are coming to stay this weekend so am planning flowey clothes, non alcoholic wine from tesco and trying not to look sick.

Oh and belfastbloke that question deserves a thread all by itself! But heres my contribution..

  1. are you sure you should have a belly yet? The book says you shouldnt have a belly due to the baby ... oh yeah that bit of the book!
Neeko · 20/08/2009 22:04

Hi all. Have any of you tried a bellybelt for the trouser dilemma? i've heard they are great and I'm waiting on mine arriving. Hope it comes soon although due to a hormonal incident I had to let my secret slip to a couple of trustworthy ladies at work.

Belfastbloke First of all, well done for being so interested and supportive, BUT never utter the words: it's just your hormones. We know. We can say it. Men can't

BelfastBloke · 20/08/2009 22:17

So sentences to avoid, so far, are:

  1. "are you sure you should have a belly yet? The book says you shouldnt have a belly due to the baby ..."

  2. "it's just your hormones."

  3. "who ate all the pies?"

Keep 'em coming, ladies, and I'll make you all a nice cuppa tea? Or ice-cream topped with banana and marmite, whatever you want.

familygirl · 20/08/2009 22:31

Probably avoid talking about it if you feel tired... Does that seem a bit mean?

familygirl · 20/08/2009 22:35

And on the subject of double pushchairs, I'm a fan of the Jane Powertwin, but does depend on your requirements, gap, storage, usage etc.

Anyone else struggling not to be sick when changing DC nappies? Not a nice job anyway but with ms it's really unpleasant to say the least!

tostaky · 21/08/2009 08:59

About double puschair - do i really need one or can i just buy a buggy board???
My DS will be 16 months when this LO arrives.

I still havent received my dates for my 1st scan/booking appointment ggrrr!! Bloody Royal Mail. Im sure theres a back log in my area bc im receiving letters from 1 week ago instead of a few days ago.

I also try to listen to bub hb yesterday but no luck. Im only 8+1 so far too early i suppose

thedollshouse · 21/08/2009 09:43

Constipation has kicked in. I am so bloated I look at least 5 months pregnant!

My tolerance levels have gone down to zero. When I was pregnant with ds I could put it down to being surrounded by complete F**kwits at work but this time I am finding that my anger is directed at random strangers. Yesterday I took an instant dislike to two women in the museum because their buggies were too large and they had rude older children. We have an ongoing neighbourly planning dispute at the moment, usually I am the calm person whereas dh is more inclined to get annoyed but yesterday I had the urge to go around and give them a piece of my mind and tell them what selfish inconsiderate idiots they really are and how the whole street hates them. I didn't but I am sure I will do soon. Does anyone else have a low tolerance threshold of idiots at the moment?

Bettymum · 21/08/2009 09:48

Hello all,
I'm off for a scan at the EPU today as I've been having terribly sore cramps. The GP prodded my tummy and doesn't think it's ectopic, but she's referred me for a scan anyway. Am excited to see the bean but just crossing fingers that everything's OK.

thedollshouse · 21/08/2009 09:51

Good luck Bettymum.
