Anyone else due April 2010?

I just found out yesterday I'm 4 weeks preggers after trying for our 2nd baby for a year and half, at last!! It seemed as though it was never going to happen!

Here's to the next 8-9 months!

Morning ladies/gent
No MS as such but do have a weird semi-nauseous, semi-human state going on, which I think a good sleep would fix but with a 9mo DS crawling round, is mission impossible. Only 4+5, and starting to wish I hadn't found out so early. Desperate to know this LO is ok...doesn't help that the only people i've told are, meaning well, warning me not to get too excited until the scan - they've both experienced MC and I'm starting to get very nervous. Was in more a state of ignorance with DS1, and while I understood potential risk of MC, didn't give it much thought. Now when not being distracted by DS, I'm worrying!

Really happy for all your scan joy!!

Cinnabar what you've told me adds to my already pretty huge contempt for the Catholic Church I'm afraid. Unspeakably insensitive of them.

Belfastbloke Am v.happy we have a man on board!! If, towards the birth, when discomfort really kicks in, and we start to wish all sorts of voodoo pain on the men that got us into these states, you are not to take it personally!!

LeeWT · 19/08/2009 13:24

Girls think someone in my work has swine flu and couple more awaiting confirmation .. Am freaking out because I have chronic asthma and am preg.. What do u think should I be worried or asking can I work from home?

Not usually a hypochondriac I swear ..

thedollshouse · 19/08/2009 13:27

I don't know, ring your GP and see what they say.

I am worrying too as I work in a school but unless I hand in my notice I will just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

draughts · 19/08/2009 14:26

Hello, can I join you all.

I got a BFP over the weekend and am 5 weeks tomorrow according to usual cycles or 4+4 according to when I know I ovulated. Going by the latter my EDD is 25th April.

I have two boys, ages 8 and 5. My youngest son has a chromosome abnormality so this is all extra worrying. He is utterly adorable though, naturally .

I have had two miscarriages over the last year so can sympathise with all of the knicker checkers and boob prodders!

Feeling fine at the moment, just sore boobs that appear to become more sore as the day goes on, by the time I have to take my bra off at bedtime I could cry. Still a good sign I guess.

Congrats to you all, I am looking forward to us all having lovely uneventful pregnancies, with scrummy healthy babies in April.

bringonthetrumpets · 19/08/2009 14:46

Hello all April mummies! Haven't posted in a while as I haven't had much news. Just the usual lovely all-day nausea and extreme exhaustion. DS is 11 months old today and I'm feeling a bit teary-eyed as I can't believe how quickly this year has gone!

Anyway, had another scan yesterday and they found a heartbeat! 158 bpm and baby is measuring at 14 mm, so they moved my due date back to the 1st. Couldn't believe I got to see my little seahorse yesterday. You could still see there was a tail and a yolk sac, just unbelievable you can see life at such an early stage. So, I'm feeling much more secure about the pregnancy and only about 4 more weeks until the 2nd trimester begins! Yay!

April20 I've added you to the list Can I assume your name is your due date?

Am also feeling big around the waist at only 6wks + 4, can anyone recommend any nice maternity jeans? The ones I had last time were hideous. Is it worth spending £115 on some posh Isabella Oliver ones? Are Gap maternity clothes any good? Am struggling!!

Also, has anyone got the same issue as me being Rhesus negative with a Rh+ husband? GP said I should have had Anti-D injections when I was pregnant with DS1 but I'm pretty sure I didn't - in fact I think the midwife said you have it when you're pregnant with your 2nd / subsequent children. Anyone know what's the right answer?! And should I be worried?

thedollshouse · 19/08/2009 18:33

NEXT ones look quite nice.

You have to have Anti-D injections with your first pregnancy because it can affect any subsequent pregnancies that you have. You need to get your Midwife to dig out your old notes and check the blood group of ds1. I had Anti-D injections twice during my pregnancy but didn't need one after the birth as ds was negative too.

Snowtiger · 19/08/2009 19:52

Thank thedollshouse I'm hoping to have a midwife contact me sometime in the next few weeks with a scan date so will ask them then.

By the way I meant to say earlier belfastbloke am very happy to have a fella on board and agree with macana, when we start hating men because they'll never know the horrors we go through, just close your ears

clothaddict · 19/08/2009 20:01

I'm late to finding this thread but I am due 12th April. This is my second baby and my first was april 08 so I know it's a great time of year. I just hope this one doesn't arrive on his birthday!

Does anyone else not feel sick and find themselves complaining to DH about it? My DH thinks I've gone mad (I felt ropey with dd from 6-13 weeks)...

LeeWT · 19/08/2009 20:27

Just wondering is anyone else finding their trousers a bit tight?!

this is my second dc and to be fair I was never in danger of wasting away but i feel like i'm pulling the waistband of my trousers over my lower belly if that makes sense. had a weekend away in which i ate quite a lot but surely that wouldnt give me a belly?!

if this is the case, how the hell will i hide it at work?

AND am starting to feel unattractive already.. my shape was left a bit lumpy and bumpy after dd and i'm worried that i wont have a lovely bump this time..

wellieboot · 19/08/2009 21:10

Know what you mean, I am feeling really bloated and I know I am getting bigger already - I am eating soooo much at the moment though, eating all day long is the only way I can control my nausea, really depressing as I am putting on weight through food I am not even enjoying eating! I think you are meant to show earlier anyway with #2

Can't help with the lovely bump I'm afraid - I got bigger all over with dd and felt really unattractive - I got stretchmarks on my back and hips not my tummy!?! Going to try and ignore what happens to me this time and not let it get to me (like I did last time) and sort it all out after - I was doing spinning classes twice a week for a few months at the beginning of this year, that really helped tone everything up. Now I am nearly back to square one again!

ThePregnantPhantomPlopper · 19/08/2009 21:13

By 5pm every evening I look about 5 months pregnant, tis my third though and my stomach muscles aren't what they used to be.

LeeWT · 19/08/2009 21:34

I'm not ashamed to say that when all my kids are born and ive lost some weight that i will pay some nice surgeon man to put my bellybutton back where it used to be! honest to god, since dd, my bellybutton is oblong and flat (sorry tmi) and there is a huge stretched bit of flab above it which is noticeable as a lump no matter what i wear!

i did however spot bump bands on new looks website and think they might streamline things? they had nice coats FYI.. found those hard to find the first time!

hoops997 · 19/08/2009 21:43

hi everyone....well I haven't posted for ages and the list is MASSIVE...this is great

I went for a scan on Monday morning and bean measured exactly right at 9.5 mm, heartbeat is really fast but she didn't tell me exactly how fast......

I have another scan on the 1st Sept and I absolutely can't wait, just to see the little heartbeat was so uplifting and have found on the lovely wealth of info that is the internet that once you have seen a fetal heartbeat so early on, chances of MC drops quite alot........so am feeling a lot better....my boobs have grown loads I started out 34A and now am 38D

Anyway enough about me, how is everyone else? I hope you are all fab and that you are puking morning, noon and night!!!!!

5am and I just CANT.SLEEP.... which is really weird for me. I feel "ewww" with nausea and a mild headache.
The scales dont show weight gain yet but i can see my belly has inctreased.
wellieboot i know what you mean about eating to make the nausea go away, i did that with DS and put on an extra stone on top of the baby weight. Im lucky to be still on mat leave so i can snack on healthy food at home rather than get kitkat and egg muffins sandwiches like when i was at work. Im determines to control my weight this time around.

Im of all of you that had an early scan!!!

CinnabarRed · 20/08/2009 05:41

5:30 AM and I've been beavering away on a work project since 4 AM....

DP's Nan died yesterday , I'm in the middle of a very high profile and politically sensitive project that started before I fell PG and began to feel exhausted, and I'm in a panic about how to deliver the report by Monday, and go to a funeral, and support DP.

Thank God for MN to keep me going!

thighsmadeofcheddar · 20/08/2009 07:24

Oh wow, really long list now. Welcome all newbies. How exciting.

Hope all goes ok for you and your DH Cinnabar.

I went to the doctor on Monday and I won't get my booking in appt with the midwife till I'm about 11-12ish weeks. Makes me a bit mad to be honest. Does anyone else live in Surrey? It seems always so busy. I'm going to go ahead and book my private nuchal scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre anyway.

Anyway sickness comes and goes, yesterday was a good day, today doesn't feel so good.

Take care all x

bumble75 · 20/08/2009 07:34

Cinnabar, so sorry to hear about your dp's Nan , hope you're both ok.

I'm feeling much heavier already - not according to the scales but am so bloated, think I need some more fibre!

I won't get booking app't till 11-12 weeks either cheddar - but am in Scotland, I know of some people who didn't get their first scan till closer to 14 weeks up here.

Have a good day all,
x

NoGoodNicknamesLeft · 20/08/2009 08:05

'Ullo all, been dithering about whether to join March or April groups... Medically due March 24th, but judging by family history and lateness of DD, would lay good money on popping April 3, so, here I am!

Had 1st scan at 7+5 after a bleed; all looked well, next one on Sept 9th, v. nervous as have had some spotting since. Had incredible nausea with this one - heaps worse than DD, but no puking, thank goodness, dunno how ppl cope with that; kudos.

Have had bit of a skirmish with docs' receptionist as they weren't going to see me till 9 weeks even though I rang at 4 weeks. The NHS round this way will only do a nuchal scan if notice from GP received BY 9 weeks. GP was pretty sniffy with me too when I finally got the 7 week appointment I wanted. Grrr... some of them are so up themselves.

fifisboys · 20/08/2009 10:05

Sorry to hear about dp's nan cinnabar hope everything works out for you

Thepregnantphantom I'm the same as you, also in my 3rd baby, do you think we look so pg because of our weakened stomach muscles? Im getting comments already about having a bump

Had my booking in appointment and bloods done yesterday with midwife, it sounds stupid but i feel more pregnant now ive seen her
Still worrying aver lack of symptoms etc but i should count myself lucky i suppose.I have to call gp tomorrow for blood results for my aneamia, they will probably start me on iron tablets again which i am dreading.
