Thought I'd start a new thread as No 3 is pretty long now! If anyone knows how to link between the 2 threads can you put one in - I'm not called Jellybrain by accident you know .

Had a job interview yesterday but, haven't heard anything back yet . I don't think my preparation was all that good and was pretty busy over the weekend with birthday party preparations and was consequently shattered.

OP posts:

hi ladies....

just thought you might like to have a look at

here

and here

be lovely if you could tell your little ones to be that you did this just before they came along?

leahbump · 02/07/2005 20:41

hi all haven't checked in for a while..been very tired etc etc suffering heartburn and increasingly painful spd (been threatened with crutches- but fighting that as it's hard to care for a 16 mo ds who doesn't walk when on crutches!). Could write an epic about third trimester agonies but you all know that so i'll spare you .

saw reflexologist last week and she said that she thought it wouldn't be long...and baby could come at about 37 weeks. She is pretty acurate (been right with several friends) but still i dare not get my hopes up. I have however been getting a few regular scares...ie contractions regularly for a few hours then nothing!! (could be BH I suppose but they are painful and make it harder to breath and that was what they were like last time)

Blew up my birthpool yesterday as they recomend it be up for 3 weeks prior to use and I want my homebirth (can't have before 37 weeks or after 42).....it's quite nifty but it did go down over night, not totally but enough ..anyone know if that is normal?? will email company and check tommorrow!

midwife thinks i am measuring big so an earlyish homebirth would b preferable!!

Not long to go now girls!!! I wonder who will be first??

blossom2 · 02/07/2005 20:42

DD was born at 37.5 weeks so everyone has been telling me this one is going to be early too, so i'm thinking WHEN!!!!

I think for me, because she's my second, i want to be with her already. I'm generally not good at waiting and now that i know she would be fine (if a little small), i'm getting really impatient.

Miaou · 02/07/2005 20:46

leahbump, sounds like you might have a slow puncture, it shouldn't go down that fast. Nice to hear from you - sorry you are having such a rough time of it though.

blossom2 - be warned - dd1 was early, but dd2 was so late I only just missed out on being induced - as you can imagine I had assumed dd2 would be early too so by the time she arrived I was feeling pretty desperate!!

blossom2 · 02/07/2005 20:54

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......

Azure · 02/07/2005 22:10

Still only 32 weeks here and 4 weeks to go at work - I seem so much further behind some of you. I'm getting pretty uncomfortable now, and this morning I tried on 3 pairs of maternity trousers before finding one that still fitted. I must be bigger than last time, but as I am never measured at my ante-natal check-ups I don't really know. It does annoy me that maternity clothes don't last the distance - such a waste of money (especially my worst buy, under-the-bump jeans). DS wanted to see some dinosaurs today so we popped along to the Natural History Museum. I just wanted to sit infront of the TV and watch Live 8 all day, but that wouldn't have been fair. I hope everyone is well.

jantogan · 02/07/2005 22:52

hello,I hope everything is Ok for all.Today I started to packing the hospital bags.time is very fast and nursery is almost ready.I can't decide shoul I wash babys new sleep suits and bodys.
I don't eat any onion, garlic and spicy foods to prevent heatburn.
Now I am watching the concert on TV,it's great,I wish I would have been there...

Miaou · 03/07/2005 10:07

Live8 was great, wasn't it?

Jantogan, I've washed all my baby clothes before packing them/putting them away, mainly because if new then they often have a special fabric softener added to the fabric at manufacturing stage to make them go through the machines easier, and it's best not to expose a baby's delicate skin to it. And if second hand they could have been washed in a powder that the baby is allergic to - if all its clothes have been washed in the same stuff it makes it easier to pinpoint a problem!

I got my washable nappies from bensmum3 the other day (she is a nappy agent) - they are soooo cuuuute (as dd2 put it)! Must go and wash them before I need them too!

Cadmum · 03/07/2005 12:32

Please forgive me for popping in to say a quick hello to Twiga... Thank you so much for your lovely post on the TTC thread. I t means a lot to me to see your reaction. I am quite chuffed myself!

josey · 03/07/2005 16:18

oh i have just had a classic mil moment her and my sil are so rude and up themselves arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. they actually make me dread the arrive of baby at times.

I ended up buying more stuff yesterday as i went to mothercare with one of my friends and they had a sale who can resist little tops and trousers for £2 odd.???? my friend was worse than me and it was all for my baby she bought

I also went to Mataland and bought heaps of cheap Knickers that i can bin and pjs and a nightie that i can use at delivery i dont mind trashing a £5. they pjs had a wrap over top so easy access for BF so thats me almost sorted.

I started watching live 8 but had to turn it off as everyone kept shouting F**king and my 5 year old wanted to know why these people kept swearing im disapointed they were aloud off with that at 7pm.

Jantogan i have washed all baby stuff, most new things state on them to wash before wear. for all of the reasons Maiou stated

Redhelen · 03/07/2005 16:56

Hello ladies.Wanted to say best wishes.

My baby is due in early September!

Wanted to say hello - as I'm sooooo jealous of those ahead of me!

I can't wait to meet the little person and pregnancy is really exhusting me! Love helenx

Azure · 04/07/2005 09:14

Redhelen - thanks for popping in with your best wishes! Best of luck to you as well.

kate100 · 04/07/2005 15:43

Survived the weekend with the in-laws, but I've done myself a mischief. I sat on an A-frame bench and got stuck trying to get off and have hurt my pelvis even more. What was I thinking? My best friend phoned last night, she has MS and is in a really bad way at the moment and can't walk for more than 100 metres, drive or feel her left arm and leg and she was so sympathtic I was embarassed as I've hurt myself because I've been an idiot and she is in such a nad way herself. I was definitely NOT deserving of her sympathy

I went to the doctors this morning and he said that it was unlikely that the hospital will induce me early. I don't know how I feel about this, as if you'd asked me before this pregnancy I'd have said I would do anything to avoid an induction, but now I'm not so sure, maybe it would be kinder to just get the baby out. Hopefully nature will be kind and the baby will make a naturally early exit, we'll see. On the positive side he said I was very healthy and was clearly eating well and looking after myself as my haemoglobin levels were so good, top of the ante-natal class!! Also he reassured me that it didn't matter that the baby was on the right side and if it did turn out to be OP they get easier to deliver each time, I asked him if that was based on personal experience! He also said that it's definitely another big baby, great I wonder of this time I can manage a 10 pounder hope not.

colinsmommy · 04/07/2005 17:55

Thanks for the pop-in Redhelen. You don't have to feel to jealous of me, I'm not due till the 31st.

It is sooo hot here now. Temps back up in the 90's, which is typical for summer here. Feeling bored, bored, bored today, since it is a holiday, and DH is one of the few that has to work.

Kate, I feel the same way as you. There's really no way I want an induction, but am worried about the size of my baby, because I had a 9 pounder last time. I'm at the point now where I almost wish they would induce me maybe 2 weeks early.

KMS · 05/07/2005 09:25

Just heard my SIL's waters went last night. She is due 2 wks after me! So is only 33+4 wks. Has bled every month due to placenta privia. Not heard what the plan is but I hope they can delay delivery for a few weeks.
I must pack my bag!!!

josey · 05/07/2005 09:27

glad you had a nice time kate100 sorry that you hurt yourself though.

Thanks Redhelen - all the best for you also.

gosh i hate this nesting business i had such a clear out and change around yesterday i was still going until the early hours and had to force myself to give up and go to bed, i've stuff going round my head to start today, but dont quite think i have the energy to move!

Miaou · 05/07/2005 09:30

at your sister, KMS! Fingers crossed that everything is ok for her - presumably she is having a caesarian if she has placenta previa?

I had an "interesting" experience last night - thought my waters had gone! And this was after the ferry had finished for the night too - argh! However it was a false alarm and I am still here today!

Twiga · 05/07/2005 17:37

Hi all!

Redhelen, thanks for thinking of us - I'm the same as Colinsmommy though due on the 31st Aug so not too far off from you. Know what you mean about watching folk that are a wee bit ahead though, am getting quite anxious to meet my wee bundle - oh well all in good time!

Cadmum, if you're watching this thread, cheers for your message, was just over the moon to read your news. You've been so supportive to those of us that were on the Pamina3's ttc after mc thread - reckon that must just about be all of us expecting again now !

Kate100 - , what a lovely friend you've got there! Hope you're both feeling brighter today. at the prospect of a ten pounder (first time wimp here!) - fingers crossed for an early arrival!

Miaou, I'm still keeping a watch on Grampian headlines waiting for your dramatic helicoptor moment . Seriously though that must have been a bit scarey - wee miaou you stay put just now you hear

KMS, hope your SIL is doing ok, you must all be pretty worried. Best wishes to her and her family, let us know how things are going.

Things this end are fine, looking fwd to meeting up with the other Aberdeen folk on Monday! Got MW on friday and am curious about how big I'm measuring now - feels like bump has expanded overnight again. When I was measured at 28 weeks I was measuirng at 30 weeks (which apparently is still within normal) am starting to wander if this baby might be big or even early - dates are def right but dh is 6'5" and I'm 5'10" so a long/big baby may well be par for the course [slightly anxious emoticon]. Having got the delivery date for our bedroom furniture the race is now on to get the bedroom then the nursery decorated in the next 6 days or so. Bought new linen and bits and pieces at the weekend so am really excited about seeing it all finished. Had a mad pg moment in John Lewis whilst trying to find material for nursery curtains - couldn't see what I wanted instantly and burst into tears in the middle of all the fabric samples, poor old dh was at a bit of a loss at that point - got a few sympathetic looks from folk who had clocked my bump and realised I was mad/hormonal - got material in the end though.

Eulalia · 05/07/2005 18:46

Thought I had posted here yesterday but must have missed a day. Sorry to hear of your injuries kate - you've not had much luck this time round have you? Still not long to go now....

Nothing much happening with me - seeing hte midwife tomorrow and looking forward to getting measured as I've not put on any weight in the past 2 weeks and don't seem to have grown but I am sure its nothing to worry about.

josey · 05/07/2005 20:50

oh kms hope your sil and baby are ok.

Maiou thats scarey you need to talk nicely to bump and tell them they are only aloud to arrive within ferry times.

Dh is home tomorrow for nearly 4 weeks, im really looking forward to it the 3 of us will have the opertunity to spend time with each other before number 4 appears.

well i have just about killed myself with this nesting have everything done i wanted to get done, and i even managed to fall off a chair (i know dont shout i shouldnt have been on a chair) but im ok just got very sore bum as i kind of landed with bum on the back of the chair which at least managed to let me get my feet on the ground and no bump damage which is the main thing!!

colinsmommy · 05/07/2005 21:11

I hope all goes well with SIL and baby, KMS.

I'm having severe nesting cleaning issues, but the problem is that I'm tired during the day, so I want to get all my work done after 6:00 at night. Then I just am all awake and have a terrible time getting to sleep.

Miaou, I didn't realize you were still reliant on a ferry after your move. I hope baby sticks to the ferry schedule.

Does anyone else have an urge to get up and wander around the house in the middle of the night? I have no idea why, but I always have to make the rounds at least once a night. Aside from checking on Colin, I don't really know why I'm up or what I'm looking for, if anything.

kate100 · 06/07/2005 08:59

KMS hope that you're sister is OK, I'll keep checking for news.

Miaou, , at having no ferry. If you do go into labour in the night do you have to get to where your going under your own steam? Now there's water births and then there's water births!!

Twiga don;t worry too much about the size of the baby, I've got a friend and she and her DH are both over 6' and their baby was only 7lbs full term.

I'm having real nesting orgnisation issues, yesterday DH caught me up some step ladders, they are about 60 years old (not exagerrating they were my grandads) and a bit wobbly, well actually a lot wobbly. He was not impressed. However, as I can't get that much done in one day I've made a list of all the things that I need to do and have organised them onto a daily timetable. It's colour coded and everything!! Have I gone too far do you think? The realisation has finally dawned that I need to make arrangements for having the baby or DS will end up looking after himself. There are just so many things that could happen and I'm trying to think of them all so that I can cover all eventualities. At least I've realised, DH thinks we can just 'wing it', his exact words. Then I asked what he was going to do if I rang and said it was time and the delivery van that he travels to and from work in wasn't there. Cue silence followed by a promise to give things some thought.

Is anyone else having really terrible weather? It's raining constantly here. Not that I'm complaining, it's better than extreme heat.

Oh and I've got another water infection, more antibiotics!!

Miaou · 06/07/2005 09:23

Hello everyone, think the ferry situation sounds worse than it actually is! I live on the "other" side of a rather long sea loch, which, if the ferry is running (7am - 9pm) takes approx. three minutes to cross, then an 8 mile trip up the road to the hospital - no problems! However when the ferry is not running I can still get to the hospital but we would have to drive all the way up the side of the loch and back down the other side, a trip of about 45 miles on very narrow twisty road (so no flat-out-at-sixty) - trip goes from about twenty minutes to about an hour plus.

I'm a lot more relaxed about it than I was earlier in pregnancy though - I think all my "calm and serene" hormones have kicked in! Together with my "nesting" ones - am really trying to pace myself in case I go into labour after a marathon cleaning session! I've still got bags of energy and am feeling very fortunate that I am still so mobile (I can still run up the stairs and swim 30 lengths - couldn't do that in previous pregnancies!)

I wonder how many A&E admissions are mad pregnant women falling off ladders/chairs etc ?

wilbur · 06/07/2005 14:45

Ditto on the nesting thing. We've got builders in and I'm planning a home birth and I'm a bit frantic that I won't be back in my bedroom in time! Just dying to get everything set up and washed and ready, but can't due to burly men making a mess. Still babies are small, I will be able to set up a little preparation area somewhere, I'm sure. Off to pack my emergency hosp bag and bag for the kids to stay elsewhere if things go pearshaped.

Rochwen · 06/07/2005 17:27

Oh, I've not had a good day today. Had midwife appointment today and she firstly found that the little mite had turned herself into breech and that she hasn't grown for the past 4 weeks - I'm in week 35 and the measurement was 31 weeks. So she's booked me in for a growth scan on Friday and tentatively warned me that they might have to get the wee one out if my placenta has given up the ghost.

So today I made sure my hospital bag is fully packed.

Oh yes, and apparently the Neo-natal Unit in our hosptial is full, so last week they had to send a woman to Liverpool or Leeds to deliver a premature baby.

Great !!! and there was me thinking I was off the hook in the pregnancy complication stakes after developing SPD !

Not a happy bunny right now !

Still, lets think positive ! Can the Aberdeen Lovelies get in touch, so we can arrange a time and place to meet? (or you can come and visit me in the Mati, lol)
