Do you work in Pharma?

BellasYummyMummy · 03/07/2009 15:23

pharmaceuticals? yeah

becky7000 · 03/07/2009 15:55

Hi everyone!

I had my booking apt with the midwife this morning so will get my scan date in a few weeks and will then know a due date as really unsure with this one. (no LMP and was taking the pill!). If all is well I can add myself to the list!

DH back tonight(he works away a bit) so looking forward to some help and maybe a rest- we will see!

Summer2008 · 03/07/2009 16:29

Hi All,

Watching from the distance if ok i got a BFP and EDD 10th March 2010. I had a MMC earlier this year so may add myself in a few weeks if all is ok.

So good to see so many people from the TTC March bus :-)

ilovegreenbeans · 03/07/2009 16:36

of course it's ok summer. hope all goes well

BellasYummyMummy · 03/07/2009 19:22

anyone getting paranoid about swine flu and being preggers??

Dalrymps · 03/07/2009 19:45

Me, a little, don't know if there are any risks to the baby. I presume not but don't know for sure...

Caitni · 03/07/2009 20:08

Also getting a bit paranoid about swine flu and pregnancy - just our luck to get preggers when the risk of a massive pandemic is so high! Have so far resisted the urge to google about it (don't want to scare myself too much ).

Had my first bout of MS this evening - thought I was going to puke in Tesco. Then nearly puked when opening the fridge to put the groceries away. Feel rough (still have a sore throat and cold). Grim way to spend a Friday night!

CakeandFineWine · 03/07/2009 20:21

Hi all,

Can I please join you?!?
I got my confirmation today that I'm due 9th March 2010!!! YEAH

Its my second, I have a DD who has just turned 3!

I'm already struggling with nausea and tiredness, don't know how I'm going to keep this quiet till week 12?!?!
I told my boss today as I work in forensic mental health so violence and aggression are issues so people are def going to suss out I'm not really seeing any patients!!

I had pre-eclampsia with my first and was induced at 34 weeks, have been told today I'll be under consultant care, high risk pregnancy with a high possiblity they will induce me 4 weeks early again! Anyone else in a similar boat.
Sorry haven't read all your posts yet, there's LOADS will catch up soon tho

becky7000 · 03/07/2009 20:47

Hi C&FW good to hear from you. My DS has just turned 3. They are at such a sweet age aren't they?

I hope everything is uneventful in this pregnancy.

HarryJoesMummy · 03/07/2009 21:10

Hi Everyone!

Can I please join this thread? I have done two tests (a cheapy tesco test, and a CB Plus) yesterday and today, and they both definitely had lines in the right places, although they were a little but faint. However, I am working on the philosophy that a line is a line is a line, and two tests can't be wrong, etc, etc. Have worked out that my EDD is 7th March 2010!!

Am so excited!

Already have one DS who turned 2 at the end of March.

I missed the fact I was pregnant with him because I thought the implantation bleed was AF so when I finally twigged and tested I was 8 weeks gone, so the test went positive practically the minute I took it out of the packet! So, bit worried about the faintness of the line, and just hoping the little bean sticks!

Really looking forward to sharing the experience with you and hopefully we'll all have bundles of joy in March 2010!

Pingpong · 03/07/2009 21:13

Haha CakeandFineWine thought you were going to namechange after AIBU?
HarryJoesMummy a line is a line

chubbymummy · 03/07/2009 23:06

Ha, thought I was the only one getting paranoid about Swine-Flu! I've got a really sore throat, think another bout of Tonsillitis is on it's way to be honest but I have to admit to googling Swine-Flu.

Cake I had pre-eclampsia with DS and was induced (on my due-date though). I ended up having an emergency C-section as he wouldn't fit through my pelvis (he was 9lb6oz and I'm only 5"1). As long as this pregnancy is sucessfull I'll be having a planned C-section a week or so early, meaning I should probably be on the February thread really.

BellasYummyMummy · 04/07/2009 10:16

morning everyone! how are you all today?

welcome summer, cake and harryjoe!

glad to hear my fears over swine flu arent just in my head. I read that pregnant women are at higher risk of getting it, i guess because our immune systems are suppressed so the little bean can happily grow inside without being attacked by us. I have read that the doc will give anti virals if your PG so hopefully we should all be fine! At the end of the day, it's just another flu virus I guess, so just make sure you wash your hands lots!!

Im feeling fine today, where have my symptoms gone???? went to bed at 830 again last night though.

cake &chubbymummy- pre-elcampsia sounds pretty scary, though will be nice to have a 'planned' date of your arrival chubbymummy! Im also little at 5'0, but managed to have my DD by ventouse (with a much needed epi).

tomorrow i my bday, hmm going to be difficult not having any of the pimms so will have to make a look-alike drink so no one susses me out! we're about to go out and buy al the yummy food (which i will probably devour all on my own). Then monday we are off on holiday for a week! so when i get back ill be nearly 6 weeks! YAY!

Dalrymps · 04/07/2009 10:46

Morning BellasYM

I'm doing ok today, still don't feel that pg. Breasts a little tender is poked and had a very slight wave of nausea earlier but could have missed it it was so brief. Now feeling hungry so stuffing my face with chocolate cornflake crunchies mmmm.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow! at you going on holiday, hope you have fun

BellasYummyMummy · 04/07/2009 11:44

thanks dalrymps!! i dont have sore boobs, but then i never did with DD, and i dont with AF so not expecting it this time either. feeling a little iffy now, but i would hardly call it ms, and its so hard to know if its real or just subconscious!

donttrythisathome · 04/07/2009 14:54

Welcome newbies.

Yes, I am paranoid about swine flu, especially as I work in that pit of infection known as London. Oh well, if we get it at least we will be given priority, and in fairness there are other pandemics around such as TB which I don't seem to be worried about at all

Also worried about lack of symptoms...although I had unbelievable indigestion after eating strawberries. Seriously the farts would have powered a balloon trip to New York....

OP posts:
BellasYummyMummy · 04/07/2009 16:41

lol DTTAH!!!
im not having any symptoms, dont worry!

TakeLovingChances · 04/07/2009 18:36

I'm in no way worried about swine flu. I live in Northern Ireland, and so far we've been pretty lucky to avoid it.... except for a few cases.

I am soooooooo tired I could sleep all night, then sleep half the day. Coupled with the heat during the night it's not a good mix.

My boobs haven't grown yet, but they feel like 2 lead balloons

I have yet to actually vomit, but I keep getting little waves of feeling like I want to vomit.

Heading out for this 12 day mission trip next week.... Am in 2 minds about it. I really want to go and help these people, but the hot heat, sunshine and very very long days and hectic travelling will be hard to deal with at this early stage (I'll be 6 and 7 weeks pg)

Oh well, just have to stick it out and nap whenever I can!

Hi Ladies.
Had a couple of awkward moments today.
First I met a friend for lunch who I haven't seen for ages and she asked when baby number 2 would be on the cards. I tried to throw her off the scent by telling her about my miscarriage in October and she didn't push it anymore than that luckily.
Secondly we went to my in-laws for a bbq, we always have a few drinks when we're there and so it's very noticable that I didn't drink. I was going to blame feeling ill but as we see them most weekends I knew I couldn't keep giving different excuses. I've told them that I'm watching what I eat and I've given up drinking to try to loose weight for summer. I told her that I've lost a couple of lb's already (I really have so that's not a lie) and she seemed to buy it. I've also given up sweetners in my tea but didn't want her to get suspicious about that either so I told her that I'd read that sweetners make you crave carbs (again, this is true - I discovered it when i was googling sweetners+pregnancy).
I feel really guilty about not telling people in real life the truth but I feel if I do I could be jinxing the whole thing.

HarryJoesMummy · 04/07/2009 21:59

Hi there everyone!

Glad to see that everyone is still doing well. to all those suffering but it will all be worth it in the end (hopefully)!

Am having to watch my self so carefully at the moment - I think I might end up telling people by accident! I nearly blurted out the big news to my mum on the phone tonight, and had to change topic mid-sentence. Hmm, not suspicious at all then...

Not really having any symptoms at the moment, except my boobs feel really sore. Didn't have that with DS1 as far as I can remember - I wonder how similar the two pregnancies are going to be. I didn't get MS until 11 weeks with DS1 and then really suffered for 3 weeks. No sign of MS yet thankfully.

Have also decided that I will tell the close family next week, but am not telling anyone at work yet. Pay rises are announced at the end of August, and don't want to jeopardise my rise by announcing anything!!
