Doctorskidaddle · 29/07/2009 16:56

meita and marmite so sorry and thank you for your lovely words

welshlovely - I don't think severe back pain is common in early pg - just a kind of dull ache. How worrying. Was all fine at scan last week? Tuesday must seem a very long way away but I suppose only another scan will show if all is well. Crossed fingers for you x

dophus [angy] how rude! But glad the scan showed all to be well

Gosh it is awful how much sad news we are getting on this thread. Feel so lucky and blessed that I haven't had any of those worries (yet) - thinking about it I think I am very grateful for my MS

Really really hope there is no more bad news

Rindercella · 29/07/2009 17:24

Thanks for the welcomes from everyone. I can't believe I must already be 5+5 already. Funny how having bfp this morning has suddenly brought on the symptoms - tiredness, nausea, sore boobs, etc. I have had all of those over the last few months, tested and was disappointed when bfn.

Can I ask a stupid question (which is actually quite a normal thing for me to do )? Did you all make GP appointments when you first got a bfp? I ask because when I was pg with DD, I made an appointment as soon as I knew and the GP just sort of said there wasn't very much point in seeing me as anything could happen as it was so early in the pg. So, should I now wait and get a booking in appt with the mw when I am about 9 wks, or go & see GP next week? I am 39 too, so I guess the risks will be higher (so will definitely need nuchal at 12 wks).

Arcadie · 29/07/2009 18:22

GP probably won't be very interested, especially as you're not a "prima". I'd wait for the mw appointment unless you have any problems in which case phone the surgery for a chat with the mw.

shyla01 · 29/07/2009 18:45

hello all.

sorry to hear about the bad news.

welshlovely i had similar back pain in the 1st few weeks of this pg. i could hardly walk. i had it with my last mc too. it has eased off but it's still quite stiff and aches loads by the end of the day. i have been refered for physio by my G.P, although i have heard it is rubbish!

this ms is killing me i have been given some tablets by gp but i am wary of taking them. any one else used them? also have low blood pressure and vertigo! so really not having much of a good time!

got an appointment with mw tomorrow see to see about getting an early scan. fingers crossed!

hope everyone else is doing ok.

i'm too scared to add myself to the list, almost like tempting fate iyswim! xx

Minicooper · 29/07/2009 19:25

Hello everyone and sorry to hear all the bad news - beautiful post, Meita - hope you've kept a copy for any future children you have - its a touching story to share with them.

Rindercella, I had to see my GP just to get into the system - not that it seemed to speed things up - my booking in appointment isn't til 12 wks - still earlier than last time, which was 16wks - a bit late for mw to tell me I shouldn't be eating peanutsShe also told me to watch my BMI as it was over 25. Hmmm - it was 16wks pg - not before!

Dophus, I'm huge too - already look v pg even though not 8 wks yet! Soooo bloated. Horrible at this stage as you just look fat!

Twofalls, I was also proud last pg not to gain much weight due to eating healthily and swimming pretty much every day - but I still haven't lost what I did gain 20months on - my friend who gained 3stone lost it all within a couple of months. Life just ain't fair!

Minicooper · 29/07/2009 19:27

Oooh, forgot to say, welshlovely, I had bad back pain very early last pg and saw a chiropracter as I thought it could only get worse as I got bigger. It did seem to help - she kept me mobile!

LancsLen · 29/07/2009 19:30

Becky7000 - no Im not actually from Lancs but didn't know what to call myself so took the first halves of both my boyfriend surname and my surname!!

So sad to see more bad news on here, I became quite teary and sending lots of love and hugs to you ladies.

Shyla01 - im exactly the same, I have to eat a little something about every two hours otherwise i start feeling sick, although not actually been sick yet. Feeling really bloated the last few days too so that I cannot wear my jeans.. maybe from snacking all the time, going on holiday next week and think i will be hiding in a kaftan for most of it!xx

mumbot · 29/07/2009 20:57

Rindercella - I tried to see GP after BFP but they said they now refer straight to mw instead.

Anyone else having a few crampy pains? Mine feel like they are just on top of pubic bone, wonder if its the beginning of spd??

Also very wobbly with morning all day sicky - boo

Rindercella · 29/07/2009 21:02

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will call the surgery in the morning and see what their process is.

Don't envy you your ms, I had it so bad when pg with DD. I am really hoping I don't have it quite so badly with this pg.

Tigresswoods · 30/07/2009 08:07

Hi Girls, sorry to hear of all of you suffering with MS. I am not really getting that too badly and not even needing the loo lots yet either. (all good) However, I am as tired as a tired person at a tired convention and can quite happily sleep and sleep and sleep.

Have appointments up in town today where I will need to be on my A game and sparkling and witty. I will do all of this and then get back on the train and promptly fall asleep.

Somebody tell me it will end soon!

mumbot · 30/07/2009 08:42

Hi Tigress - yes in your middle trimester you will feel like a new woman, I could have spring-cleaned for England!

Dophus · 30/07/2009 08:44

I;'m counting down the days. On the positive, maybe it's just one day but my S was a little better this week. I'm hoping it has peaked.

I saw my GP early each time - mainly just ot get my NHS exemption card!

minicooper there is no evidence that peanuts should be avoided in pregnancy. It is just an unproven hypothesis.

TakeLovingChances · 30/07/2009 09:22

minicooper peanuts should be avoided if you, DP, or any close relatives are allergic, that's it.

swingsofglory · 30/07/2009 09:30

Hi all,

Just found the March club on here - hope it's not too late to join.

I'm due 12th March with my second and currently struggling through the fatigue, MS and incredibly lively 20mo DD who will NOT let me sit down for 5 minutes. Sigh.

pureeandpearls · 30/07/2009 09:44

Never too late Swings- and send sympathies. I have a similar problem with my 14 month old.

Can't wait for the Exemption card. Still waiting to hear from GP about booking in and Nuchal Scan. Will have to call them whilst on hols next week to chase it as am 9 weeks and beginning to panic that they've forgotten me!

Anyone else suffering rage? I want to kill everyone at the moment. Very annoying.

shyla01 · 30/07/2009 10:45

pureeandpearls i know exactly what you mean about the rage! i feel so sorry for dp. i have been a monster the last few weeks.

really struggling with the sickness today. i have been up all night. so tired i have had to take a day off work.

got my bookin appointment in two weeks. i will be 8 weeks then. thata amazing for my mw. last time i wouldnt have been booked in until 14 wks.

hope everyone else is well x

donttrythisathome · 30/07/2009 11:34

meita and marmite really sorry to hear your news. That was a lovely post meita.

I have my scan and screening on the 19th - bricking it!

babydubai · 30/07/2009 12:05

Just found this site and I hope I can join the March club too. I am due on 10 March and this is my first pregnancy.
I haven't had much nausea but it has really hit me today and I feel very tired and grumpy and cannot wait to get home from work.

Minicooper · 30/07/2009 12:59

Thanks TLC and dophus - fortunately I took peanuts advice with a pinch of salt and didn't bother stopping. Haven't avoided them this pg either!

LEMONADEGIRL · 30/07/2009 13:10

Hello Ladies,

Not posted for a while as moved house the weekend of the 17th and have not had internet access since the move.

So sorry to read all the bad news and wish you all the very best

Am feeling generally okay just the usual tiredness/nausea and indigestion but can't complain as could be a lot worse.

Definatley hard work moving house in early pregnancy and couldn't even have celebratory drink - well did sip some of DH wine

Got my scan date through for the end of Aug and first MW appointment on Tuesday.

Makes it all seem a bit more real now.

becky7000 · 30/07/2009 13:11

I am sat reading these meassages eating a "share" size bag of peanut M&Ms!

Sariska · 30/07/2009 13:52

Another tired as tired can be person here. My MS has started to abate a little - hopefully this is not because anything is going silently wrong (although it's hard to shut out the worry, isn't it?) and is because, despite very little appetite and finding about 95% of the things I normally eat to be stomach-churningly repulsive, I am forcing myself to eat something every couple of hours. Even if it is just a calyppo (sp?) or ice pop. (Think I am addicted.) The tiredness, though, is something else. How was your trip to town, Tigresswoods? I commute to London three times a week and, bizarrely, am really appreciating two hours nap time on the train. I don't get any nap time on my day at home with DS because he's not the sort of child who will go down in his cot for a sleep. And I have to try and be really disciplined on the day I work from home otherwise I would spend the whole day asleep. As it is, I have a nap at lunchtime on the sofa in my study (daren't go to the bedroom as I'm sure I'd not get up again for the rest of the day).

One other thing while I'm mostly moaning: is anyone else getting palpitations? I keep noticing them, which is a bit unsettling.

Hello babydubai: welcome to the March club!

Dophus · 30/07/2009 14:01

becky - send some this way...

Must ... stop .... eating

Sariska - I also find my palpitations get worse in pg.

scooby26 · 30/07/2009 15:17

Hi all,

Off work for a week as Ive taken nightshift off at the weekend rather than cope with it. Got my booking appointment with the MW on Tuesday and early private scan on wednesday. Been feeling guilty as been soooo tired that DH has had to do most things (without asking too!) so I've decided as I'm off i'd make him his fave homecooked dinner and plough through the mountain of ironing. I thought a swim might give me some of those energy pheronomes that people talk of not having moved barely for 4 weeks since we found out due to tiredness. Well guess what??!!! After 20 lengths Im now home and soo tired that all I can do is look at the huge pile of ironing and dread doing that, the dinner and washing my hair. Maybe just a little snooze first..............

TakeLovingChances · 30/07/2009 17:28

Hi, just to update you all on my lovely symptoms:

I have barfed up 4 times, but spend most daylight hours of most days feeling like I'm sea-sick and feeling that I am about to be sick.

Haven't gone off any foods (except coffee, which I'm allergic to anyway), so my eating patterns haven't changed yet (except no drinking). My weight hasn't changed, so even though I assume everyone can magically know I AM PREGNANT, I guess it's true that they can't.

My boobs are like lead balloons, not any bigger yet, just heavy and sore.

I have the odd little twinge or cramp in my lower abdomen - sometimes it's a bit unsettling, but I spoke to a GP relative, who says it's just the womb growing and muscles moving.

I could sleep for N. Ireland (where I live). I have always been a big sleeper, but now I could just fall down as I walk down the street and sleep. I just move around the house thinking of when I can next snooze or go to bed.

So that's the main ones anyway.

All in all, it's been an interesting few weeks so far, and I'm only just 9 weeks!
