New Thread before the old one fills up.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Scorps · 20/08/2009 15:13

don't, im broody enough all ready

Moss does look good. Do you have a name yet? I'm wondering if i should be looking for any more choices!

GoldenSnitch · 20/08/2009 15:19

I thought we had chosen then DH changed his mind!!

I want Catherine - Katie or Kitty for short. I think it goes very nicely with DS's name.

But now DH has decided that as he has issues saying TH, he would pronounce it Caffrine which sounds awful. He makes efforts to pronounce other 'th' sounds as he's desperate not to pass it onto DS cause he gets the mickey taken out of him at work but he doesn't seem to want to do it with this!

I've tried pointing out that she would be Katie for 99% of the time anyway but he's not convinced.

He wants Rebecca now instead but I just don't like it anywhere near as much

Scorps · 20/08/2009 15:21

Rebecca isn't as nice as Catherine, no. Katie/Kitty is very cute

I like Lacey, DH has accepted my love of it (he hasnt a leg to stand on at mo!) I'm just wondering on middle name, which i would like to be 'normal'.

GoldenSnitch · 20/08/2009 15:29

Lacey Kate? - see I'm obsessed

I want a more unusual middle name. DH's family are Irish and we gave DS a vaguely Irish middle name because they were so desperate for him to have one.

There are some lovely Irish Girls names - they're just mostly unspellable - I'm figuring it wouldn't matter so much for a middle name though.

Scorps · 20/08/2009 15:31

None of mine ever get their middle names used! I like Amber too.

GoldenSnitch · 20/08/2009 15:34

DS has to be VERY naughty for me to use his full first name and his middle name!!

Amber is pretty

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/08/2009 20:26

I also wanted Catherine but DH was dead against it because its my sisters name.
We have decided on Elizabeth Rose. Most likely having the nickname Lizzie.

Wish I could have a sling but cant due to back problems.

GoldenSnitch · 20/08/2009 20:47

It's my sisters middle name too..

DH has announced I can have it if I give him a blow job every day for a month - which is at least not a No

It's almost worth it!

ripcow · 20/08/2009 21:29

Hi, bit of a latecomer here
We are expecting identical girls - due date xmas day but they'll be along before then as they are high risk.
I feel really under prepared having read the last few posts with people buying so much stuff already - all we have is buggy on order, car seats and a mountain of nappies! Got all the grannies knitting though

Welcome Ripcow. Don't worry, it's all talk - takes a lot of talking through and forward planning this shopping lark

Congratulations

ripcow · 20/08/2009 21:37

Thanks Goldensnitch.

Seems the only bit of shopping I'm good at is mat clothes!

GoldenSnitch · 21/08/2009 07:34

It's far too easy to go crazy on Maternity clothes. OK if you're planning on having more kids but I've been buying loads and this is my last bump!

We're always here for help and advice on any other bits you need - just ask

madmissy · 21/08/2009 09:01

welcome along ripcow!

i have become over addicted to ebay now maternity clothes baby boy bits.... uh oh

i won my basket which is immaculate with stand for £3.90! well chuffed lol

damnitdamnit · 21/08/2009 14:27

Hi,

i too have been looking at slings and was thinking of buying a Murrons pouch from freedom slings as i did not want something i have to fasten and that could be fiddly.

Other suggestion welcome though.

GoldenSnitch · 21/08/2009 15:23

Looks nice and cosy.

But it's fitted the the adult so I wouldn't be able to share it with my husband cause we're totally different sizes (he's almost a foot taller than me!)

The Moby slings look reasonably easy to tie but I'll have to see when mine arrives

Scorps · 21/08/2009 18:37

I get bits from eBay too , but i do have some bits from last time, and a topshop dress that i love.

madmissy · 21/08/2009 21:03

i sold every single thing that i had!
and everything that i kept is pink! which carter won't look so great against

ViktoriaMac · 22/08/2009 20:09

My Rockin Baby ring sling arrived while I was away, it's so lovely I'd wear it as an accessory anyway if I could. Just hope that our little boy doesn't mind being carried around in a pink sling!

Welcome to Ripcow!

ripcow · 22/08/2009 21:36

Oh dear - I've started on ebay now... somebody stop me!

BexJ78 · 22/08/2009 22:50

Hi all

Am very proud of myself, we went to see U2 on thursday night and I managed to stand for the whole thing and did not feel tired at all! Am well chuffed cos I thought I might find it a bit of a struggle!

still not bought anything other than the pram yet. think we are gearing up though to start clearing out the study, ready for its transformation to the nursery!

Have caught up with lots of friends and family too in the last few days, who have been trying to get out of us what we are having, but my lips are sealed!!

madmissy · 23/08/2009 18:11

oooh bex glad you had great time!

ripcow thats it now i'm afraid! no going back lol

Mybox · 23/08/2009 20:40
