Boys are so much easier to name! My DSS is Zachary. Romilly is quite similar to Roaslie, if your DH objects (Milly for short?)

AmazingBouncingFerret · 28/07/2009 18:56

Hmm someone I really dont like has a daughter named milly so couldnt go down that route.

GoldenSnitch · 28/07/2009 19:52

Congrats on finding out sexes. It's all so exciting!!!

In our house, boys are definitely harder too name!! We used the only boys name we could agree on - Alexander - for DS so we're really going to struggle if this one is a boy too. We have a whole list of possibilities for a girl though.

DH refuses to talk about it too much untol we have the scan. He says there is no point getting ourselves stressed over 2 names when we only need 1.

2 weeks today until we find out...

GoldenSnitch · 28/07/2009 19:54

Make sure you add the sexes to the list...

madmissy · 28/07/2009 20:51

oh yes i will update
im on cloud 9 we chose carter for a boy! its only name i had lol

LaDiDaDi · 28/07/2009 21:23

I'm so jealous of everyone who has found out the sex!

two weeks tomorrow for me.....

I'm really struggling to fit into my work trousers now but I'm determined not to buy any until 20 weeks as I know it will just herald the start of a massive shopping spree!

madmissy · 28/07/2009 21:37

i'm in maternity now ebay and other chat boards have been a god send lol

BexJ78 · 28/07/2009 21:46

we really like perdita for our DD, but DH is worried that when it's shortened to 'purdey', people will call her 'pervy'!!! it is so hard to come up with something. but at least we know it is going to be a girl and we have some suggestions, we only had one idea if it was a boy and we couldn't even agree on that!
it is our wedding anniversary today so have had a neaky glass of fizzy pink!! yummy!

madmissy · 28/07/2009 21:49

i like perdie lol

AmazingBouncingFerret · 29/07/2009 07:40

I like Perdita, it reminds me of the jilly cooper novel polo, which ive actually read more than once...

alexpolismum · 29/07/2009 08:59

happy wedding anniversary, Bex!

I have my appointment tomorrow - I can find out the sex, but have decided to decline and wait for the birth.

As for comments - well, I already have one boy and one girl, so people havebeen asking me why I want another one! Whether its 2 boys, 2 girls or whatever, people will always find something to say, so you just have to mentally shrug your shoulders and try to ignore it.

You could always shorten Perdita to Dita, or just keep it as Perdita and not shorten it at all.

I like Philip if we have a boy, but dh says it's old fashioned. He wants Sofia if it's a girl. I like the name, but I'm not sure...

madmissy · 29/07/2009 09:15

oooh Dita is cute

lolianja · 29/07/2009 14:12

Anomaly scan tomorrow now (was brought forward)! Very excited. Still don't know whether or not I'm going to find out the sexes of the twins.

Hope all's well with everybody else.

BexJ78 · 29/07/2009 19:01

yes, Dita is nice!

we said we maybe wouldn't find out the sex at our scan, but then on the day, curiousity just got the better of us both.

had a lovely anniversary but what i want to know is why men can never be home from work in time. absolutely useless. his bloody boss, who he was supposed to be car sharing with has decided he doesn't want to stay late and so has left DH in leeds to get the train home, meaning i have to pick him up from the bloody station...aaarrrgghh

Scorps · 29/07/2009 19:21

Do not talk to me about men! Grrrr.

Lolinja - ooh exciting...i wonder what they are?? I find out a week friday....i think a boy.

madmissy · 29/07/2009 19:51

oooh how exciting to have twins on our thread!

Tillyscoutsmum · 30/07/2009 14:32

Had my 20 week scan this morning and we are having a boy . I was convinced it was a girl so it was a bit of a shock

20 week scan today and all looks normal - phew. So you can add

BlueChampagne - DC2 (DS 23 months) EDD 10th Dec

BexJ78 · 30/07/2009 18:15

That is great news on the scan BlueChampagne is is a real relief when they tell you everything looks ok. i think i am a bit of a worrier with these things!! think i have felt some movement today; it is the first time i think i have really felt something and it hasn't resulted in wind !!!

LittleMonkeysMummy · 30/07/2009 19:22

Am actually quite jealous of all of you who are finding out if it's a boy or girl. I'd love to know but Aberdeen won't tell you as we've such a big Chinese community Didn't want to know with DD but this time curiosity's starting to get the better of me. Even suggested to DH that we fork out for a private scan. Fine til he balked at the price (only 1 place here and it about £200) So I guess it'll be a surprise unless there's anything really obvious at my scan in a fortnight

Beffnal · 31/07/2009 09:34

Had my 20 week scan this week. Everything is fine with baby - amazing to see the baby actually looking like a baby now. It makes it feel real (in a good way!) We decided not to find out if it's a boy or a girl so will be having a surprise!
They have asked me to go back for a scan at 36 weeks as my placenta is low lying and partially covering my cervix. Eek! Am trying not to worry about it as apparantly in the majority of cases, the placenta will move by 36 weeks. And desperately trying not to google it as I know it can lead to placenta previa and lots of bleeding which all sounds a little scary!
Hope you are all ok, it's nice to hear everybody's scans are going well.

alexpolismum · 31/07/2009 10:05

I had my antenatal appointment yesterday. Everything was fine, although the gynaecologist was not impressed to hear that I was still breastfeeding dd!

I find it so funny to see how the baby looks in the scans - when you see the side view with the spinal chord, I can't help thinking that it looks a bit like a stegosaurus!

Anyway, the baby was wriggling away, the heart is beating merrily, so all's well. Still got my anomaly scan to look forward to in a couple of weeks.

I haven't wavered - we have asked not to be told the baby's gender.

Moosy · 31/07/2009 11:43

Beffnal, my placenta was slightly in the way at the 20 weeks scan, but when they looked again at 21 weeks it had moved well out of the way already so don't worry, I'm sure yours will do the same soon!

Devongirl · 31/07/2009 11:50

I was thinking earlier how this pregnancy seems a bit slower than last time, am half way through now but just itching to get on with the 'hit by a bus' first 3 months to get it out of the way! (Sorry to any first time mums but it's better to be prepared IMO)

Then I saw a 'due March 2010' thread and realised that time is flying by really. I know I won't have another baby after this one so I really ought to just enjoy being pregnant, that's my lesson for today!

Hoe everyone is doing well today x

Scorps · 31/07/2009 11:58

Beffnal, it will probably move up as your womb grows, fingers crossed.

Lovely to hear of happy babies. Mine is a week today, im 19 weeks now. It is going so fast isn't it! The baby's crib came yesterday and im so excited i put it up already lol. I'm trying to enjoy it more too, as i doubt i will have anymore after this one.
