Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Welcome Spaniel, youve got the same due date as me, my DS is nearly 4 as well (in October)

Beffnal · 21/07/2009 11:57

Thanks AlexPolisMum, that's good to hear - I'm going to be a first time Mum so keep having a little panic about these things!

Hi Spaniel!

Devongirl · 21/07/2009 13:05

Beffnal - if you're anything like me your baby might well just have a totally different sleep pattern to you - my DS1 liked to be awake at night or any time I lay down, then liked to go to sleep I think when I was walking or sitting down. He's still that awkward now! x

Claire236 · 21/07/2009 14:19

Had my 20 week scan this morning. 3 scans & he's been asleep for them all. He moves loads from about 2100 onwards but seems to sleep during the day which I hope isn't a pattern which will continue after he's born. Got my 4D scan booked for 7 Aug when we should find out if this one will need the same op that ds1 needed. Fingers crossed we won't have to go through that again. He's actually measuring a little bit big (only a few days) which is a relief as I had growth scans with ds1 because they were worried he was too small.

madmissy · 21/07/2009 14:59

moosy i may look into that i've started swimming and thats been really great im loving it i do aqua natal with a midwife and shes fab but i seemed to have turned into a water baby lol. i will get a belt and see how i go

i am determined that this pg is as natural as possible with my last i was induced 2 weeks early due to bad spd

is anyone else not feeling pg?

this is my 3rd and i just feel so different this time... i'm not feeling connected with the baby lol

clare236 4d scans are amazing! i was lucky to have 2 with dd1 i didnt have the money to with dd2 but wld love to have one this time around

madmissy · 21/07/2009 15:00

oh and anyone else due 21st of dec??

Claire236 · 21/07/2009 18:26

madmissy - I've seen 4D scans but didn't have one with ds1. This one's free as it's for a medical reason, all we'll have to pay for is the DVD which is only about £10. Really looking forward to it. Hopefully he'll be a bit more active this time round so ds1 (he's 4) can watch the DVD & see that it's a proper baby in my tummy.

GoldenSnitch · 21/07/2009 19:55

Anyone else feeling very stretched?

All the skin just below my ribs feels incredibly tight and uncomfortable..

Maybe baby is having a grow and i need to make more room...?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/07/2009 19:56

Beffnal If you are feeling very concerned about the lack of movement now you can phone the hosp and they will tell you to come in and they'll hook you up to a little monitor to check heartbeat and such. I did that when pregnant with DS at about 8pm one evening and even though everything was fine the midwives were really nice about it.

First day back at work today after 2 weeks off and my ankles feel awful.

I would love one of those 4d scans are they very expensive?

Devongirl · 21/07/2009 20:08

Just one more thing from me about the baby movement - first time round I didn't feel anything at all until 22 weeks - I think you tune into it more when you've been through it before. Try not to worry!!!

madmissy · 22/07/2009 09:08

talking of movement this baby is sooo different to my two daughters! i felt them at 16weeks and still not felt a prod so far at 18wk 2dy its funny how different it is this time around

claire it will be fantastic! i had one at 16-17weeks (too early but they mucked up and upgraded free) and then one at 26 weeks which was incredible i have the dvd and a large pic of her and she looked just like the day she was born

amazingferret they are varied in price really as different packages norm £100+

goldenstitch yes i am starting to feel tight too

Beffnal · 22/07/2009 09:59

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. Feeling much better today as baby was definitely moving around when I was making dinner last night! Hope you are all feeling well today.

alexpolismum · 22/07/2009 14:33

Well, there's one thing we didn't think about when deciding whether or not to have Baby No 3!

I have to get a new carseat for my 2 year old and this has got me wondering how on earth I am going to fit a third carseat in.

I would love a new car, of course, but unfortunately the budget doesn't quite stretch to that! Anyone else with 3 (or more!) in this position? Any tips?

Moosy · 22/07/2009 14:37

We have a skoda octavia and we're going to have a struggle getting 3 seats in I think. My plan is to turn up at Mothercare and ask them to keep trying different combinations until they find 3 that fit!

I had my scan this morning, all's well that she could see, but I have to go back next week as she couldn't see everything, and it's a girl!

Scorps · 22/07/2009 14:39

at girl, I'm really intrigued to see what mine is

Catz · 22/07/2009 14:45

Hi all, I've just been catching up with all of your posts, we've been away for a couple of weeks.

Just got back from the 20 wk scan. All fine. The baby is a boy - the sonographer spent about 2 seconds looking so I guess she could be wrong but she did say if looked pretty obvious and even I could tell so I'm guessing she's right! I was fairly sure it was a boy and it'll be nice to have one of each but I do feel a little sad that all the lovely outfits DD had as a baby won't be used again (boys' clothes are so dreary in the shops).

The one thing that is worrying me is that he is off the scale on quite a few of the measurements... DD was 7lb 5 so average. Am a bit worried about this. Seeing the midwife anyway on Friday so will quiz her then.

Good luck to all those having scans.

madmissy · 22/07/2009 16:48

alex we currently can fit 3 seats in our mondeo but we will have to change at some point as need one for step son every other weekend.

madmissy · 22/07/2009 16:50

oh and not sure on your ages but thats with 2 boosters and a britax, although my step son sits on site (cant rem have a google) its ok by law if your oldest ie him being 7 has no seat i will try finding a link

alexpolismum · 22/07/2009 18:12

Thanks madmissy. Unfortunately, my children are a lot younger! When the new baby arrives, ds will be 2yrs 8 months, dd will be 18 months! So no booster seats yet. And we only have a hyundai - not much space.

madmissy · 22/07/2009 18:18

hmmm maybe a squeeze goto mothercare as there are narrower seats than some, thats why i chamged mine recently its a britax but erm a newer type lol

madmissy · 22/07/2009 18:18

anniebigpants · 24/07/2009 14:28

Bit quiet in here these past couple of days, where is everybody??
Been for my rescan today as couple of things sonographer couldnt see, everything fine. Found out we having another DS

madmissy · 24/07/2009 16:04

ooooh congrats on new boy! glad all ok

we went to mothercare and m&p today to try out car seats and as i thought the m&p will not fit so will go for a maxi cosi or britax. both the girls have britax and i quite like them, but had a mc with dd2 .......

Stigaloid · 24/07/2009 16:10

Oooh congrats on boy! I love being a mum to a boy and trust me, with the way they run around and get mucky as you will be glad that their clothes are dreary in comparison to little ladies!

Am having to wait until i am 21w 5 d for my scan - getting very impatient!

anniebigpants · 24/07/2009 16:20

Thanks for congrats ladies. The news is sinking in we are having a DS now, i was secretly hoping a teensy bit for a girl as we have a DS (he is nearly 4), but i am just thankful babs seems healthy, i had a mmc in Jan this year at 12 weeks.
