I took my DS to my 16 week appointment. They even had some toys to keep him amused so I can't be the only one to do it.

I would maybe take a pushchair to keep him strapped into and some toys to amuse if you're not sure your surgery is quite so child friendly or if you're worried about terrible two-ism

At mine, she checked urine, blood pressure, had a very quick feel of tummy and listened to heartbeat. I also had a quick chat about my birth afterthoughts meeting and she told me she would advise me to have another section. Still only took about 20 mins.

Hiya
I am 20 weeks pg on sat just gone. They say i'm due 4th Dec, give or take a week. My bump is huge, lol. How is everyone feeling. I have been put through a tough time, hope things will look up now. I have recently had a really bad back for 2 weeks then i started with pain in the stomach only to start bleeding(brown) and had a emergency scan to find out i have fybroids x2 so far, my god i thought all sorts as i was in constant real agony. They gave me paracetomol, well that didn't do anything, so they gave me antibiotics. That didn't help so they gave me stronger pain killers and a 5 day course of antibiotics again(different) to the ones before as they said on my swob it had a bug in it. The pain is only just starting to fade now as this all happenend the weekend before last but was suffering with pain 3 day's before i said anything to anyone. Now i think i have thrush in the mouth as my tongue is all sore so i'mm off to the doctor today. Has anybody else been put to the test with problems
I had my 20 week scan on friday and we saw the sex of the baby, it's a little boy. Midwife said...laughing.. it could be the cord.. We said after that was no way the cord as it was a little stump(his winky) We are so excited even though i have a 14 year old already. Strange starting all over again, he kicks me like mad,lol x

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/07/2009 11:29

Congratulations on being a little boy Tiaxx31.
I cannot wait till my scan (next Tuesday) I hope the baby cooperates and we're able to see what it is!

GoldenSnitch · 20/07/2009 11:45

I hope you're over your (possible) swine flu by Tuesday then Ferret - I guess they wouldn't scan you if you were ill?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/07/2009 11:49

Oh bugger I never thought of that!
shit.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/07/2009 11:51

Everyone needs to keep their fingers and toes crossed and tell their babies to keep their fingers and toes crossed that I dont develop anymore symptoms other than the dodgy throat.
Thank you please.

GoldenSnitch · 20/07/2009 12:18

xx Crossing everything for you Ferrets xx

madmissy · 20/07/2009 12:33

Scorps · 20/07/2009 13:21

Millie lots of mums take their small ones to appointments, there isnt much else some of us can do I'm going to have to take all 3 of mine in the holidays lol.

Congrats on sex finding, 2 boys on this thread! Where are the girls?? 2 weeks Friday with mine and im expecting to add to the boy numbers.

Scorps · 20/07/2009 13:22

ABF - how are you today? Drink alot of water, paracetemol is ok, rest!

BlueChampagne · 20/07/2009 13:23

Feeling OK but sure bump is bigger than DS at this stage. Anyone else feel more easily tired 2nd time round? Getting excited about 20 week scan next week.

Scorps · 20/07/2009 13:28

Blue - im a 4th timer and tired , we have more to do than the first time.

GoldenSnitch · 20/07/2009 14:36

I'm so tired it's turning me into a monster. I really shouted at Ds a little while ago cause he wouldn't nap and I feel even worse now

Milliemuffin · 20/07/2009 18:56

Thanks for all your comments, my appt did last only 10mins and DS was well behaved so all good Anyone had a babies heart rate of 144 and was it a boy or girl? anyone got that rate at the moment and knows what they're having? long shot I know but worth asking :-)

legscrossed · 20/07/2009 19:24

Tiaxx31 I also had a bleed one week ago today. My due date is same as yours.
I had no pain or complications such as yours, but scary all the same.
Was monitored in hosp for a whole day, seems to have settled n scan on wed so hopefully will confirm all ok.
Maybe just placenta over cervix?
Trouble coincided with looking totally not preg to developing mega belly overnight. Very sore feel like I've done 50 sit ups every day.
I presume this will feel better at some point!

alexpolismum · 20/07/2009 21:02

Hello everyone,

I've just been looking through some posts and I see that you're all finding out the sex of the baby! Anyone else like me want to have a surprise at the birth and is not finding out?

Blu and Scorps - I'm on my third pregnancy and I'm absolutely exhausted! I don't know how I'm going to survive until the end!

madmissy · 20/07/2009 21:54

im having a suprise i found out with my 2 dds so this is last time i want to be patient

madmissy · 20/07/2009 21:56

scorps i also had spd with dd2 it was horrid i was induced 2 wks early i can feel it starting now

Kingsroadie · 20/07/2009 22:19

Hi all, forgot to post lask week. Found out we're having a little girl and we were convinced (for no real reason) that it was a boy! Anyway we're very happy and now giving some thought to names. My husband also says it feels more real for him now he knows he's having a daughter, and I feel a bit like that too actually.

On tiredness: am still feeling tiredish at 21 weeks, nothing too major but tired. We're growing a person though so no surprise we're tired - esp those of you with other kids!

Sorry for anyone feeling horrid and hope you feel better soon

Moosy · 20/07/2009 23:06

Madmissy, pilates are supposed to be good to help prevent it, might not be too late to start...?

anniebigpants · 20/07/2009 23:11

Congrats on finding out you're having a girl Kingsroadie, that is what i am secretly hoping for as have DS already, though at the end of the day as long as babs is healthy, thats all i wish for.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 21/07/2009 08:02

Sore throat has gone... Im seriously hoping I have managed to not catch the piggy virus. DH seems to be feeling better no temperature etc so im thinking in a weeks time we should be ok to go be scanned, phew.

Bebby has been very quiet after 2 weeks of almost non stop activity I keep prodding my belly to try and wake him up!

Congrats on girl kingsroadie.

Beffnal · 21/07/2009 09:21

We're having a surprise too Alexpolismum - my scan is next wednesday and I can't wait. Desperate to see that everything is ok.
I'm 20 weeks on Friday and have had a couple of weeks of baby moving around but baby has been very quiet for the last few days so it's reassuring to hear other babies are doing that too AmazingBouncingFerret

SPANIEL · 21/07/2009 10:24

Hi,

I thought i'd add myself.

DC2 (DD Almost 4) EDD 1st Dec

Couldn't tell sex last time and was convinced it was a boy and had a girl. This pregnancy feels completely different and told at scan last week it's a boy. I wake up every morning feeling like i've got a cold but it goes away after a bit.

alexpolismum · 21/07/2009 11:28

Beffnal - I found with my previous pregnancies that the babies seemed to go through periods of lots of activity and then suddenly very little. If you can't feel much going on, think of it as the baby chilling out a bit!
