I think I have found the cure to all my ailments.... post on here , first heartburn now BH contractions just disappears for a few days when I write about it here, very odd. So here goes again... I have a realy sore back today... fingers crossed.

Waves at gonnabamumma... I'm was in Paris too this week, well actually I live here, so not that surprising , I hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend planned after that mega-week!

My bump is definitely fairly cake-related, it's growing so fast and is active, not just wriggling, but proper moving the furniture around type stuff! 24 weeks and 6 days to go for me!

oops sorry how'd that happen..

LizLemon · 29/05/2009 21:15

evening all! Feeling fairly chirpy as I've just finished making a top for myself - slightly wider neckline than intended but that'll be nice if the weather stays this warm. My ankles swelled up terribly yesterday when I was out in town - not very attractive at all!

16 more mondays to go for me...

LittleCheese · 29/05/2009 21:28

ooooo i've just counted down and only 14 weeks and 1 day how exciting

AprilMeadow · 29/05/2009 21:39

15wks and 3 days for me

Bit the bullet and just bought the cot..... boots were selling the M&P willow cot for £113 - M&P sell it for £150. I also got 452 advantage points so a winner all round.

I have received my P&T Vibe - came yesterday - and i love it, so do the kids. Car seat and bedding arrived on Wednesday All i need to get now is the matress but wont be getting that until August when i set the nursery up.

Feel pleased that i have all the main items now and can just let the next 11wks (til i can properly prepare) roll on by.

Had terrible hip/leg/neck pain this week so went to see an Osteopath and he told me that he wasnt surprised as i have 1 hip higher than the other and my right hip tilts forward whilst the left hip tilts back - pretty special i thought . Have a few more sessions and hopefully it will be sorted....

Loving the sunshine today and hope it continues for the weekend. Dh has gone to Oulton Park for the British Touring Cars (we own a team so have to show our faces) which leaves me with the 2 children - eek. I hope i'm not a jibbering wreck by the time he gets home

audreyraines · 29/05/2009 21:50

oooo 14 weeks and 5 days here

Minshu · 30/05/2009 06:53

Why, oh why, oh why have I been awake for over 2 hours?? It's not like the belly-dweller's wriggling is strong enough to wake me yet - and I woke the cat up. No one to blame but myself for eating too much Chinese last night, I guess...

Just been looking at my weight gain vs. what it "should" be. Now bouncing off the upper limit - perhaps I should have looked at that before deciding on Chinese yesterday... But, it does mean that I'm not as massively over as some "experts" would have me believe (not that I hold a grudge).

We're seeing DP's family this weekend (a nephew's birthday and we're going to see knights fighting in a castle ), and we might be able to pick up assorted stuff that is being donated. Time's flying by and we must start to get prepared!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Minshu · 30/05/2009 06:55

Oh yes - just 49 more get ups before mat leave.

Neddie · 30/05/2009 08:48

Mine have to come out at 38 weeks I think so by my calculations that's 13 weeks and 5 days till countdown. Exciting!!!

audreyraines · 30/05/2009 08:59

minshu, what "should" weight gain be? i seem to have become a whale overnight!

blue76 · 30/05/2009 09:34

Did anyone watch that programme a few weeks ago with Louise Redknapp in it? She's such a sweetie. It was about weight-gain during pg. She was shocked to find a girl who only put on 8lbs during her pg. Louise herself gained 2 and a half stone. She then had something like 5 weeks after the birth to lose the weight. [She had a photo shoot for Triumph].

So far, I've put a stone on, but I'm still wthin the threshold for my height [if not pg]. When pg with DD1, I gained nearly 4 stones - but I have to admit I did use the pg as an excuse to eat loads and do little! Determined not to do the same this time...

16 weeks to go for me! DD's go to their Dad's every other weekend. Is scary but exciting when I think that DP and I have 8 child-free weekends left! Ooh I can't wait!

Thanks Minshu, will try not to work around the birth, but as we've only just got our new money (yay, people are investing in businesses - just not the banks!) we've got a big schedule of marketing etc. but we had planned to be "done" with the big stuff by September, conveniently!
We were at our first major show at the weekend - at Mallory Park - so like Oulton Park, Aprilmeadow! Unusual to find another car person, females a bit limited in the industry!
DH hurt his back on the Friday, though, so I lugged all the display stuff around, and have been driving into work every day. Glad it's not just me who feels big and exhausted. Not that I want to wish it on anybody, but it is great to hear others are getting the BH and wriggling that I am.
I'm going to change the booking for the midwife to next tuesday from the following one, as I just feel I need a checkup, but you guys have made me feel better already. I'll try and work out the measurements then too.

hulihoops · 30/05/2009 16:15

PS maternity leave - are LAs not supposed to stick to the law? (ok, as a home educator I know they're rubbish at our bit of the law!) but as employees, they surely have to stick to the rules? Or are you on some kind of contract that means you're not employees or something? Good luck with it all anyway, teachers have a hard enough time as it is.

excitedandscared · 30/05/2009 20:27

Hi,
I've not posted in ages as I've been so ridiculously busy. I'm a Y6 teacher and trying to get ready for SATs while feeling permanently shattered really took it out of me.
Plus I got married 2 weeks ago, the day after SATs finished, and had 8 weeks to plan the wedding and honeymoon!
So all very exciting but pushed pregnancy stuff further down my list of things to think about to be honest.

Back from honeymoon in Sardinia this afternoon and looking/feeling huge. Even had someone offer me a seat on a bus, and a waiter gave me two puddings ('one just for you, one for the bambino'!) when I couldn't decide what to have! So maybe the pasta and gelato could be contribtuing to the bump!

Anyway, good to hear lots of exciting scan news from people though have to admit to not reading everything. Will do better, I propmise...
And must find out what my LEA says about maternity leave as I feel school are bullying me slightly to do what's best for them and not necessarily best for me and my baby - now rechristened Bambino!

BTW, Sorry for long waffly post...

LittleCheese · 30/05/2009 23:33

congratulations excitedandscared very brave of you to plan wedding whilst pregnant, My wedding was 6 weeks after dd was born and I started planning it when she was 1 week old so I kind of understand. Unfortunately for me I didn't get a lovely relaxing honeymoon after but was still the best day of my life.

minshu- what are you basing your weight gain on? I wouldn't have a clue if mine is normal or not

I'm so excited just won a pram on e bay brand new in the box for £210 should be £535 from mamas and papas so really pleased I have saved so much money I'm collecting it tomorrow cant wait.

Does everyone else have their prams in the house or are you all superstitious?

blue76 · 31/05/2009 08:09

Littlecheese - our pram is at my mum's [I am superstitious]. When I'm round there I go and have a little peek. We too won it on ebay. Parts of it are secondhand but it's a Mutsy and we weren't willing to pay 650 for a brand new one. Instead we paid 160!

Congratulations on your wedding Excited&Scared

We have our new buggy as its a P&T i can get use out of it before baby arrives. I'm not superstitious so had the buggy for ds all set up and ready before he was born. It's so exciting to start getting all the big bits

LJ29 · 31/05/2009 10:02

I also won my pram on ebay. Mamasand papas, second hand but absolutely immaculate - £67! Not that supersticious so its in the loft for now.

ladylush · 31/05/2009 16:43

Congrats on your wedding excitedandscared
I got my pram on ebay as well. It's a bugaboo frog and it's upstairs in what will be the baby's room. I'm a bit superstitious but not about things like that. I figure we need a pram before baby comes - don't want to be bidding on ebay in the days after lo born. However, not buying much else as yet and leaving decorating the room til quite late.
My bump has grown a lot. I haven't been weighing myself - don't want to depress myself! I'm not overeating and wouldn't eat less even if it turns out I'm putting on too much - so no point in weighing myself. Will be following a low fat diet after the baby is born and going to the gym.

9 Mondays left at work
15 weeks and 3 days left til due date

ladylush · 31/05/2009 16:47

Pebblebeach - think you got your dates wrong hun If you are due on 10 Sept, you have less than 15 weeks to go.

audreyraines · 31/05/2009 17:00

yeah hopefully pebblebeach doesn't have 24 weeks left!

i'm due on the 9th sep, and have 14 weeks 2 days left i think. something like that.

peachygirl · 31/05/2009 19:14

Hi everyone
hope you are all well. I had my scan on Thursday and it all went well, baby is very high up and it look like it is another girl, I would have loved a boy but ... nevermind.

Things a bit hard in our house DH is ill, (a regular occurance) and DD is very testing. We usually take a bath togther but I think I'll have to take a break from it for a while I'm getting fed up of all the splashing and being stood on. so much for that lovely picture of the woman in the bath with her little boy in 'theres a house in my mummy'

pebblebeach · 31/05/2009 19:25

lol ladylush.... well spotted - should have been 14 weeks, not 24! oops, kind of wish it was 24 though, this pg seems to be zipping by.

nitnat84 · 31/05/2009 20:07

7 working weeks left for me! Yipee!!!
25 weeks tomo- it is all getting so close. Starting to get a bit scared of the whole birth bit now! Dont want to show my down below to a load of strangers. Everyone says 'oh you really wont care!' But I think I will!!!
Back to work tomo after a week off. Got to find the energy to face 30 kids again! Ahhh!!
Hope you have all had a good weekend.
