Sorry bonkerz congrads to you hun, wishing you a healthy pregnancy..

george32 · 04/05/2005 09:55

See Nemo, no-one will let you go, you're stuck with us now!!!

How much is a scan machine anyway? Think we should start a collection for a private Mumsnet one to save all the hassle with idiot GPS!!

To share my recent developments; overnight my boobs have grown to mammoth proportions!! Plus I've joined the m/s club. Not got to the head down the toilet stage yet but keep having waves of EURGH. Horrid but I can't help being re-assured. DP was overjoyed that I was feeling so yuck

Bonkerz, hope you are getting on OK today. xx

george32 · 04/05/2005 09:59

Ebbie, I think some cramping is normal as everything stretches (think Expat mentioned round ligament pain).

expatinscotland · 04/05/2005 10:11

holy nausea, batman! i am really off food just now. trying to nibble cashew nuts to keep me going. really can't take much more than a nibble at a time. yuck!

ebbie, the cramping pains are normal. i'm still getting them here. they are uterine stretching. as long as there is no bleeding or sharp, localised abdominal pain it's no reason for alarm.

if, however, it makes you feel better, phone the midwife.

ebbie22 · 04/05/2005 10:15

Im not sure what to make of it,I never had it with dd,it just aches and is real painful when i stand etc.....I dont have a midwife yet..

sweetheart · 04/05/2005 10:30

I hope no-one minds but I'm sure we all want to support Golds through her terrible ordeal so here
is her thread.

I know she didn't want to post and bring everyone down but I know the feeling on here is a "one for all and all for one" type feeling and I'm sure we all want to offer our support.

Nemo - I've seen you posting on other threads - where have you gone
Please come back!!!!

OP posts:
MINNIE1 · 04/05/2005 11:40

sweetheart,
Not at all hun its just quiet. i'm a bit busy getting food into my mouth as starvation has hit again and i'm only after my brekie!!!

MINNIE1 · 04/05/2005 11:58

Are any of you taken vitiams for your pregnancy??

scully · 04/05/2005 12:11

hi all....have been hit with exhaustion, feeling ugh and constant hunger since the weekend. Wks 4, 5 & 6 I was fine but wk 7 is proving more interesting Feels similar to last time though so hopefully should pass by 12 wks.
As for vitamins, just some pro-natal ones, most mornings, when I remember......

sweetheart · 04/05/2005 12:12

Oh good, thought I'd put my foot in it then!!!!!

I am taking vitamins - I'm taking Pregnecare - only coz I eat crap all the time, esp when preg

Nemo1977 · 04/05/2005 12:19

hi all thanks for ur messages. been having a really bad few days i suppose and have convinced myself if i am going to loose baby it will be now dont know why as my natural mcs were at 5 and 6 wks and my missed mc was around 9...I just havent been able to stop crying and the tum pains are really getting me down..although slightly relieved to hear someone else is having them....i just want my scan date to be here for reassurance [as we all do i know]

I am taking folic acid with other vitamins thing from tescos...so will see how that works.

Has anyone else toddler seemed to take a didslike to their tums without being aware of a pregnancy..Ds keeps hititng or kicking me in the tum which obviously doesnt help with the pains or the worry..

sweetheart · 04/05/2005 12:25

YEAH Nemo - so good to see you back - even if you are feeling horrible.

My dd always jumps on my tummy - I've started to tell her I'm feeling poorly or I've got a tummy ache and she generally leave's me alone - although I'm not sure one as young as your ds could be reasoned with?!?!?!?!

Nemo - If I were you I'd be at the Dr's every other day moaning of pains, cramp etc etc perhaps your Dr would get so sick of you he'd arrange a scan just to get rid of you.

Not sure if you've mentioned this before but have you thought of a private scan - I think you can get them for around £40-£50 - must be worth it to put your mind at rest!??!?!?!

And if all else fails - go and buy a big bar of chocolate

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 04/05/2005 12:26

SH our local private scan is in manchester and it is around £100. I am hoping that begging and crying to midwife on tues will help some..lol

backpacker · 04/05/2005 12:32

I'm taking folic acid. I've also bought a bottle of pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamins (Blackmores is the brand)that have everything in themincluding tuna oil that has been checked for mercury levels. will start taking them when I've got brave enough to attempt to swallow them - they are absolutely gigantic.

will be off -line for 10 days or so. will be eating raw veggies and salad till my eyes bulge! (see post on the pregnancy bit about salads)

scully · 04/05/2005 12:38

I know what you mean about a boisterous toddler Nemo, my dd is stressing me out with that at the moment. I take her swimming most Sat mornings and got really stressed out when she kept nudging me in the stomach with her feet, or when she wants to clamber all over me when I'm sitting on the lounge........hard to be cross about it but still makes me paranoid.
Backpacker, I did see your other link about salad, ridiculous! As long as it's washed, can't see a problem - was that an Australian dr who said that? If so, I'm embarassed
What would he rather you ate, crisps and chocolate all day
I would go for the private scan Nemo, to put your mind at ease. You don't want to be stressing like this for another month or so until you get your nhs scan.

Bonkerz · 04/05/2005 12:47

had my scan this morning and unfortunately there was no heart beat. i have been booked back in for 13 th. The midwife reckons it could be too early and says that i have a sac and a yolk sac and all is looking promising. cant help feeling defeated and am sure that they will tell me its all over next friday (thats if i dont start bleeding before!)

MINNIE1 · 04/05/2005 12:55

Bonkerz,
((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) i think it could be to early as i am due the 29th of dec and i am 5+4 you would only be 6 weeks.. Please don't give up hope just yet..

Nemo1977 · 04/05/2005 13:59

bonkerz hun i am sure it is just too early for scan to see anything and hopefully next week will bring better news

hereshoping · 04/05/2005 15:04

nemo - try bupa murrayfield on wirral for early scan. Im also sure the consultants at liverpool womens hospital do private work at lourdes hospital nr the royal - would be worth ringing them
otherwise invent symptoms and turn up at gps/a/e with bleeding/pain - it seems to be the only way to persuade an epu to see you - mine are giving me the major run around and my Gp said they had taken the same attitude with him
I can understand that they would be swamped if they agreed to see anyone with prev mc but when youve had a couple whats the problem?

dramaqueen72 · 04/05/2005 15:46

hey ladies. firstly welomce aboard bonkerz, and keep hanging in there, 6wks is early -I ahd to book my early scan for AFTER 6 and a half wks for best chance of seeing heartbeat, so i also think your scanner is right a sac and a yolk is a good thing,if you surf the net for six wks and before scan pictures you will see thats all they see too.
george, dont even joke about it, morning sickness, after an extremely rough night and morning (you dont want to know how many times i threw up) (6 if you really do) I am now on anti sickness med. it was very hard for me to decide to take as i personally hate any drugs/medicines in pg. but the dr told me how ill i was getting and how i would end up in hospital at this rate so i took the prescription. I researched it fifty times on the net before coming up with 9 outa ten sites said it was okay, one site was abit scarier but also okay. so I've just taken one, (whilst feeling like I have done something awful to tiny baby.) after all the worry i hope it works!!
backpacker, sounds like you are doing a splendid job with vitamins and healthy eating. I take just plain folic acid, as its all i can just about swallow and its the one my midwife insisted i MUST take. usually need iron abit later on.
have my scan friday 9am. crikey. they are so nerveracking!
nemo, , did you get seen by an early pg unit for you missed m/c? because they are whos scanning me, the 'big' scan dept wont even hear of it before 16+wks! and i agree with everyone else, -throw some hormones down and INSIST on a scan. start saying things like 'mental welbeing' and mentioning those sharp tummy pains and I assure you the scan will happen. youre ahead of me arent you? by ten wks some dopplers will pick up a heartbeat, so not long now.

sweetheart · 04/05/2005 15:50

really dq - dopplers can hear the heartbeat at 10 weeks!!!!

I'm 9 + 2 today!!!! Where can I get a doppler - I'd love to hear it at home next week!!!!

I thought you couldn't hear anything until about 15+ weeks!!!!

OP posts:
sweetheart · 04/05/2005 15:51

Oh, sorry - also Bonkerz!!

Try and stay calm - I'm sure it's just too early to see the heartbeat - my scan was at 6 +2 and I could only just see the heartbeat. The consultant also told me to see a yolk sac at this stage is very good!!!

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 04/05/2005 16:07

doppler rentalhere

sweetheart · 04/05/2005 16:13

I got an "unexpected bonus" at work yesterday and I was going to put it all away for nursery furniture, prams etc etc but I know what I'm doing with some of it now!!!!

Thats bloody fantastic DQ - thanks so much!!!! Talk about looking forward to a stress free few months.

I think I'll hire one just for a couple of months - I should be able to feel the bean moving by then away - what a bargain - peace of mind for only £50

I'm so chuffed
