Brilliant news Minnie1!!!

(sorry, have been lurking to see how it went)

Bonkerz · 17/05/2005 17:59

great news minnie!

This is so reassuring, all these little beans with fluttering hearts!

My ms is getting progressively worse! Whats even worse though is that the minute i stop feeling sick (maybe 15 mins a day) i start to panic that something is wrong! Then i start puking and i know all is well with beany! Am finding it hard to eat at the moment. Bread seems to be my best friend but am only managing a sandwich at lunch and then eat again at 8pm. I find i manage to digest it then! Am drinking buckets of water so my skin is glowing and when i am, sick this is whats coming up so im able to carry on as well as can be expected ! (sorry tmi!!)

Am 8 weeks tomorrow and cant help feeling ive passed a huge milestone as both previous mc ended between 7 and 8 weeks. I know i cant be certain but all feels good and i am really tring to be positive!

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2005 18:04

minnie congrates on scan hun

Chickpea welcome hun can reltae on the anxiety have had 3mcs myself. there is a stats thread under the antenatal threads think its called dec stats..lol

dramaqueen72 · 17/05/2005 18:05

hey chickpea, welcome to our threadhow you didnt think about it until now is abit beyond me! well done on being so far, MY 12wk mark is DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGING for me. this is my fourth too
great news Minnie, how great you got a picture!so pleased it was beating heart

my record of bf is 20 mths. yes 20. I dont know, i seem to find it really easy/natural/straightforward, and adore the handiness of it. Lots of foods are avoided to be best, and obviously drinking too. anything you eat or drink becomes your babys dinner (as it does now) and of course its you that will pay the price for gassy tummys, sore nappy rash and such like. but its not that hard or bad,
becky -those 'whippy' icecreams are AWFUL for making people sick, pg or not, I'd stick with real fruit lollies or 'proper' ice cream, which is fine.
i'm looking forward to the start of our online antenatal class btw! i think it would be a massive hit!
ebbie, congrat on your scan too. could the pain be digestion related? esp at the end of a day....how far are you now? (can someone do a stats link of me again?)
george, the ironing company used to do the ironing before the cleaner did, ironing is NOT my thing and esp with five of us, all changing LOTS.........quite frankly i'd give up food before i stopped paying for ironing
talking of food, dh was instructed to 'sort dinner' tonight ........and has just got pizza from supermarket. sigh. no home cooked fabulous menus from My dh!

dramaqueen72 · 17/05/2005 18:08

bonkerz -that me exactly, i am SO sick, the minute i am not i think 'omg! its all stopped whats wrong' ....and then i usually throw up it has to be our turn for GOOD news and babies right?

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2005 18:08

dq i only breast fed ds for 3wks but it was long enough i hated it but then i have THE biggest boobs..lol

Oooo online antenatal..yayy should be fun.

Bonkerz · 17/05/2005 18:14

I think we deserve it dq! We all do. These are going to be our likle miracles and like DH said to me the other night (in a rare moment of loveliness) This baby is going to mean so much because of what we have had to lose to get it. We have had to be strong and had to overcome so much heartache that this baby is going to be our miracle! Bought tears to my eyes!(tahts not hard at the moment cos my hormones and emotions are so heightned!

Is anyone else having vivid dreams? Ive been having them for 3 weeks now and dh is getting annoyed now cos apparently last night i woke him up and shouted at him for putting velcro on his feet! Apparently i was really mad at him and wouldnt shut up about the velcro!

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2005 18:16

bonkerz its my dh having weird dreams at the min..bless him last night everytime i moved he grabbed me and asked was i ok..when i asked this morning he said he dreamt i fell out the bed and lost the baby so he was catching me...

george32 · 17/05/2005 19:15

Bonkerz, PMSL at your DHs velcro feet!!

I've had a go at updating the stats thread . Should we add on scans do you think? Please update any details that have changed or that you want to add.
I do hope I've not missed anyone. If I have, I'm so sorry (And someone, please add them on asap & cover me!!)

dramaqueen72 · 17/05/2005 19:53

oh yes, really vivid drreams. including slightly ....er.....errotic encounters with someone famous! omg! i remember very well vivid dreams freaking me out all last pg, so am glad its another 'normal/good' thing this pg is doing. fabulous sex with my dh in a lift in one dream......dh most upset to find out he'd missed it and it was only dream.pmsl! and my emotions are shot away right now, found myself CRYING at dr who last week! duh!

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2005 20:02

aww DQ i cired at dr who..in fact there is a thread about people who cried to dr who...pmsl

I have had the erotic dreams but i think thats cos we were lacking in the sex department..lol

george32 · 17/05/2005 20:21

What's sex???

expatinscotland · 17/05/2005 21:19

I didn't breastfeed DD b/c I had severe PND and had to take loads of meds - not just ADs.

Don't think I'll go for it this time round. I'm starting to experience some depression already - although this time I'm working w/a psychiatrist so I'll start ADs during the pregnancy and can hopefully the hard stuff.

But I'm still really put off bf'ing and don't think it's for me. I'm a lot more traumatised than I thought from DD's birth.

Arrggh, I think this trimester is dragging out b/c we're all feeling so rough. Gag, barf, yuck!

Nemo1977 · 17/05/2005 21:22

expat u sound similair to me. Had v bad depression with ds. NOw see a psychatrist psychologist and cpn. They have all discussed going on meds at around 8mths to try and prevent pnd being as bad as it was. I only came of meds cos i found out i was pg last time. Then knew i wanted another baby so didnt go back on despite them trying to make me.

expatinscotland · 17/05/2005 21:27

think i might be going back on AD's the entire last trimester, nemo. it was pretty bad w/dd - in addition to the AD's i needed sleeping tablets, anti-anxiety drugs, and drugs to control hypertension.

hopefully if i start the AD's early enough this time i can head off the big crash after birth.

looking back, i realise i was depressed during pregnancy last time. i thought it was just my financial situation.

at least, this time round, i can do 6 months maternity leave.

this child will complete our family, so i feel less pressure.

beckymumof3 · 17/05/2005 22:14

There is hope guys - I suffered severe PND after my first and was under psychiatrist & being 'watched' for 2nd but have been fine since and not suffered at all. Maybe you'll be lucky

sweetheart · 18/05/2005 08:43

Congrats Minnie - thats absolutly bloody fantastic news!!!

Bonkerz - so glad you feel you are past you own personal hurdle - it must feel great. My main one is 13 weeks so only another couple of weeks to go - lets hope we're all going to overcome them in the comming weeks

Chickpea - welcome to our lovely thread, lets hope it's lucky for you too. I wondered if your dates were out by a few days. I'm due on the 5th Dec and was 11 weeks on Monday so I think if your due on the 8th that would make you 11 weeks tomorrow - unless of course it's my dates that are wrong

Now, I don't want to put a downer on the whole "special baby" thing coz I think it would be fantastic if we all got our xmas babies we all deserve so much but.........

my dh was my mil 3rd baby but 5th pregnancy - she had 2 m/c's before having him. Consequently he is the apple of her eye and never does anything wrong. It has come to be somewhat of a point of issue amongst his family and is a constant bug bear of mine.

I know these babies are special but no more so than our other babies (past and present). I definalty don't want to turn out like my MIL with one perfect child who can never do anything wrong!!!!!

MINNIE1 · 18/05/2005 09:05

george32,
I agree "what sex" i have never gone this long before, But all in good time..

Bonkerz,
I am the same, Dreams are really weird, and i am snoring [SHOCK]... Could be all the hormones we have at the mo.

chickpea,
Welcome, wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

The doctor said yesterday that the MS is a good sign all the more hormones all the better.

How are you all feeling today?

scully · 18/05/2005 09:17

Great news about your scan Minnie! In answer to your question, I'm feeling awful......my first breakfast at 6.15am was such a long time ago, I need breakfast number 2 now.........

george32 · 18/05/2005 09:25

So pleased that your scan went well Minnie.
Scully, know what you mean about needing more breakfast. I've already had a bowl of cereal, 4 fruitellas and a Mr Kipling apple pie & I still can't shift the urgh feeling.
Off to have a meeting with a customer in 20 minutes so desperately trying to shake it off so I don't sit looking green in front of them.

MINNIE1 · 18/05/2005 09:33

Feeling good this morning the corn flakes were left behind.. Starvin again so i know once i eat i will be yukkkie again.
Do you find you eat a little and need another feed in an hour? (god that makes no sense)!!

Nemo1977 · 18/05/2005 09:34

morning all
i seem to be constantly eating. I tend to feel really ill when i havent eaten for a couple of hours.

ebbie22 · 18/05/2005 09:38

Wel cp,heres to healthy happy times ahead....congrates on the result of ur scan minnie, its good to see the little bean isnt it...
Have a few questions for you all,
I have still got the pain on my lower left side, could it be pain from the cyst?
Also havent got an appointment to see the midwife til im 16 wks is that normal?
I dont want to act like a pain, but dont know what to do?

dramaqueen72 · 18/05/2005 09:54

morning ladies
sick three times this morning BEFORE 9am,mmmm, lovely. dh home today so hes horrified to hear me being so sick and now acting like i am royalty -suspect this will wear off v soon, but its nice while here.
ebbie i think if the pain is often and HURTS as opposed to aches, go and see someone, we dont have to put up with pain you know! I'm sure it would relieve you to know its all okay too.
one of the questions of the universe today for you, you know how belly button fluff is always blue? well why is stomach acid always yellow/orange? UGH

scully · 18/05/2005 09:54

I don't think there is 'normal' for the nhs, every area seems to be organised so differently..... 16 wks does seem a long way away though - who does your bloods and booking in appt before then, or have they been done already?
As for food, I'm constantly grazing through the day, especially between 8-3 to keep the nausua at bay. I find when I'm pregnant my blood sugar drops so much more quickly. I'm no use to anyone if I don't eat as soon as my body tells me to
