Morning all...

Congratulations on the scan Nemo!! I am so pleased for you!

Thanks for the advice dramaqueen! I went to the docs and he gave me the sickness tablets straight away, no hassle at all, he done a urine test which came back bright purple which means that I am starving (certainly don't feel it at all). He said I should only have 2 weeks left of sickness (am 10 weeks) but said I would not last any longer carringing on the way I am and would end up in hospital if these tablets didn't work, I have lost another 2 kgs in a week. He reasured me that bean will be fine and its just me that is suffering, am feeling a bit relieved that he understood but also worried that these tablets wont work. Still very tearful, he said that the happiness will come back once I start to pick up and not to worry about that as its normal with m/s.

Am about to take first tablet, just looking at them make me gag ~ they are so chalky. Have waited for first sickness this morning as I know I wont hold it down if I take it before.

Fingers Crossed and thanks guys!

Good news Nemo

goldenoldie · 12/05/2005 10:28

Ops - meant to say welcome to the twins club. I am 10 weeks now and def. showing. How about you?

scully · 12/05/2005 11:28

I don't think Nemo is having twins, I think it just read that way! Think you're the only one so far, although quite a few of us who haven't had scans yet

LunarSea · 12/05/2005 11:38

Aargh - I've got a bit of a dilemma. They've decided in the office to get everyone to do a sponsored slimathon over the next three months. Not that I don't need to lose any, but the chances (or even the advisability) of it happening over the next few months are pretty slim. How on earth do I get out of this without having to own up, which I don't want to do just yet?

dramaqueen72 · 12/05/2005 13:09

kangel, mine arent chalky at all, what are yours called?
lunar, um.think you may have to own up here...or 'fail' miserabley for a few weeks at the slimming and THEN own up!

george32 · 12/05/2005 16:42

Luner, what terrible timing!!! I guess it depends when you are planning on telling work. If it's only a few weeks away, I'd do what DQ says & fail miserably for a few weeks.

Well, the day is dragging today. I don't think time has ever gone quite so slowly. If any of you are booking scans privately don't do what I have done & book one for 8.30 in the evening - it's terrible. I am so scared though. I'm sure I will be shaking.

I'll drop in as soon as I can when I get back to let you know how it goes.

dramaqueen72 · 12/05/2005 17:44

good luck george!!

ChaCha · 12/05/2005 18:46

Congratulation Nemo!!! Am very, very happy for you Wishing you all the best.

I was told today that my nuchal scan would cost £130!! Have opted for good old NHS dating scan instead..will be bankrupt if i have to keep going private.

Nemo1977 · 12/05/2005 18:48

george lots of love n hugs ot u hun not long to go now...

LunarSea · 12/05/2005 19:08

Only £130 ChaCha? It's £140/£150 around here (and that's out in the sticks!). But as they don't like to give you NHS one if they've recommended the other, there's not a great deal of choice.

george32 · 12/05/2005 21:35

Just a flying visit to say all went well. We have a teeny tiny little baby with a lovely thumping heart beart. How relieved are we!!

george32 · 12/05/2005 21:39

Ooh, and a new EDD of 2nd Jan (hmmm, guess those swimmers really can live for a while then!)

Please, please, please, can I stay on this thread???

Bonkerz · 12/05/2005 21:45

congrats george. I have my scan at 9 am in the morning and am just terrified. Even if i get a heartbeat im not sure i will relax because my baby died at 8 weeks last time and there was a heartbeat at 7.
Am feeling sick all day at the moment and have only eaten a bowl of soup today!

Nemo1977 · 12/05/2005 22:19

george yayyyyyyyyyy and of course ur staying put hun ur not going anywhere...u never know u may be lucky and be early.....

bonkerz hun hugs to u and good luck for the morning..

meant to say yesterday they were confused by my dates and said they think im due 21st not 17th..but hey ho that happened with ds and they moved him back n forth a couple of weeks, then in the end he came 15days late anyway..lol

Bella23 · 12/05/2005 23:25

Sorry ladies, just crashing....to see how the scan went george ---- YE HA FANTASTIC NEWS

dramaqueen72 · 13/05/2005 08:30

oh great news george! so this is a MUCH luckier thread than due in aug started out! and stay here george!
nice to see you here bella, hope you get ot be ona 'due in' very soon.
bonkerz, i know the scan literally only reassures you for a moment, but its a start right?
I think if my 11wk scan is okay I may begin ot believe I'm having a baby...

sweetheart · 13/05/2005 08:49

Morning everyone,

Congrats on the scan george - you must be so chuffed!!!!

Well I've had a couple of very tearful days, but I think I've cried it out now and I'm feeling a bit better today. Although I still can't shake the feeling that something has gone wrong and I'm back to the stage of going to the loo every 30 mins to check for bleeding.

Roll on the 23rd which is the day I've got my 12 week scan - I'm just praying we get some good news - although my 12 weeks scan was fine last time too so that is when my real worry period will start.

Like george said - I just wish we could fast forward to 18/20 weeks.

morning all
SH i am sure before we know it we will all be at 20wks and maybe some of us finding out the sex of our little beans...
I know what u mean about the anxiety though as all i keep thinking is well ok there was a heartbeat on wed but now having to wait until 20 wks is going to be a killer as its 11wks away Trying to stay positive though and i said to dh if i cant wait so long then i am just gonna turn up at epu claiming pains or something to get checked...stupid to cancel 12wk scan anyway esp if i happened to have another missed mc...

Anyways trying to be positive and as DQ said the dec thread is having a better start than a lot of others...look how many of us r here from june and august threads...and as SH said a while ago we r all here together for a reason.

Lovely day out and am taking DS to tots this morning then have said we can bake cakes later before sititng in the garden..lol

Nemo1977 · 13/05/2005 08:59

actually i must be feeling positive cos im looking at baby stuff on ebay Although we still have tons of ds stuff..Dh got it all out the loft and there is loads..but hey baby cant have allllll hand me downs..lol

george32 · 13/05/2005 09:01

Thanks guys. Woken up feeling so much better & relaxed today. It really does make a huge difference seeing that little pulsing bean. Had a look at the stats & the risk of m/c drops to under 5% once the heartbeat is seen which is fantastic news.

Bonkerz, wishing you so much luck today with your scan. I'm sure all will be fine. xx

sweetheart · 13/05/2005 09:06

ok well working with figures I couldn't resist working out my new risk of m/c percentage.

I've got a 10% chance of heart defect again and together with george's 5% statistic that brings my personal risk of m/c down to 7.5%

(10+5) / 2 = 7.5

Oh ignore me - I'm just being neurotic - again

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 13/05/2005 09:07

ooo how do u work out ur personal risk..lol

dramaqueen72 · 13/05/2005 09:09

ugh. ladies I feel ill enough without MATHS coming up on the screen.....yuck, hate maths.can draw you a nice picture tho........{grin]
nemo, honestly I know its been different so many times for you, but i think we're with georges risk.there SO MUCH MORE chance of it going right even with our history.

Nemo1977 · 13/05/2005 09:11

DQ to be honest i am more optimistic as 2 natural mcs were at 5 and 6 wks. However missed one was around now but having seen hb am hoping will be different
