Cheekycel I think when you reach the final bit of pregnancy it is sometimes all a bit much, and it is very easy to be all wrapped up in yourself. There is so much going on and so may changes that it can be hard to cope with. Keep your chin up, it will be worth it in the end.

Christina I hope you are better today, you poor thing.

My SPD has flarred up again over the past few days, but at least DH has been home. Its the first time he has been here when it is bad, so I think he is quite shocked. I have pilates tonight so goodness knows how that will go, but I want to go as it is sooooo relaxing.

DS is being bullied at school and has come home v upset the last few days. I could just cry as I am so hormonal anyway and it just breaks my heart. I just want to storm in and grap the little shits by the neck at the moment but think that may be the wrong tactic to take!! I did speak to his teacher today so hope it is all in hand.

Hunny I hope you get things sorted out, some time on your own before the baby comes would be good.

Anyway thats me for now xxx

Gillyan · 13/05/2009 17:26

Arh, whats happened to the lay out! I don't like change!

Haven't had time to read and catch up with everyone but I will tomorrow, just wanted to say hi to you all.

Hope everyone is okay.

I had an awful time over the weekend, me and Dp ( who never argue/fight ) had the biggest bust up yet and I kicked him out and honestly thought it was going to be over.

I have never cried so much in my life and I was so worried I was damaging the baby.

We've ended up talking LOADS and we've actually sorted out so many issues and are now stronger than ever, it's so weird how things pan out sometimes, I'm 'almost' glad that what happened did happen. I feel like we've fallen in love all over again!

It was our 2 yr anniversary yesterday too.

Other than that, I think I have got some sort of virus ( I'm not gonna say swine flu! ) Sore throat, feel sick, hot/cold/ head ache etc. Just plodding on with paracetemol and fluids.

I'm 32 wks tomorrow and baby had been SO active, she's almost coming out through my skin!

Getting very sick of people commentingon my bump, I had someone yesterday say 'you've got 7 wks left, OMG you're massive aren't you, we've got loads of pregnant working here at the moment and they are hardly showing' FUCKING DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How rude honestly. Anyway, going to the MW tomorrow so will be measured and hoping I measure right for my dates but not got a good feeling about it!

Got EVERYTHING now for baby right down to breeast pads/maternity pads etc. Might just buy myself a new hospital bag though.

I'll have a read of everyone's posts tomorrow or friday and catch up with you all xxx

Gillyan · 13/05/2009 17:26

Oh it's okay, the layout is the same, I had to sign in. Dp joined mumsnet to go on dadsnet so I think I needed to sign in again.

Beccabump · 13/05/2009 18:28

Just went through all our baby clothes left over from DD to see what we had that was suitable for DC2 and have come up with:

Some nice 3-6 month bits

Quite a few 6-9 month bits

Three 0-3 month sleepsuits and a snowsuit

ONE yes, ONE!!! newborn vest!!

I completely forgot I gave all my neutral coloured newborn stuff away to my Mum's friend who's daughter had left her (nasty) partner and had nothing for the baby!

I have sent my mum an e-mail with a shopping list as we live miles and miles from anywhere that sells cheap baby clothes and I don't want to be reliant on winning e-bay bids now I am nearly 31 weeks!! She is going to pick it all up and post it to us

OOOPS!!!!!

Phoenix · 13/05/2009 19:33

I've just done 2 loads of newborn washing (whites and colours) it looks so tiny

for huge row Gillyan glad you're happy now though. At bump comments.

Hope the SPD improves again Patchy.

Hunny - about your dad. I would try asking him again and tell him your reasons for wanting him out.

Scary christiana, hope you feel better now.

OP posts:
Misspaella · 13/05/2009 20:04

OMG seems like everyone is up and down.

Christiana hope you take it easy! I think it is easier in 2nd (or 3rd or 4th etc) pg to run around less carefully than in your first.

Becca sorry about your results. I hope you get the birth you want. I guess what matters is that you control the GD and take it from there.

Hunny I would have a word with your dad. He should understand where you are coming from and maybe it will make your more at ease when it is out on the open your wishes about having your space back. Good luck.

Phoenix you are putting me to shame. I haven't even taken my baby clothes out of my MIL's loft. I better get started.

Well it is 8 weeks and counting for us now and the excitement and anxiousness is setting in. DH and I are off for a weekend away without the kids for his birthday. I will be 36 + 4 days and just plan on keeping my legs crossed.

Is it risky you think? We will be about a 2 hr drive away from home. I plan on taking my notes and bag just in case. I am sure that will be fine.

Bump size I really don't like people commenting on it anymore. Big or small, it just gets us pg ladies upset. I have my growth scan next and just hope the baby is growing fine. Being told I am small is making me neurotic about it. Fingers x'd next Tues will be ok.

Well DH is out for the night so I am going to put the DC's to bed (oops, a bit late) and force chocolate down my throat whilst Sir Alan fires someone tonight.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

ilikeyoursleeves · 13/05/2009 22:00

Hiya, just had a quick catch up there and yes things do seem very up and down on the board this week! Hope things get better for those having a hard time just now.

Well news from me- we booked a last minute holiday last night!!! We were going to stay in the UK (I'm on A/L next week) but we looked at last minute deals and booked up to go to Menorca this Monday OMG! So I am most excited I had to see the Dr today to get a letter to say I'm fit to travel and my insurance is OK as long as I travel before 32 weeks (I'll be 30 weeks this Friday). So this weekend I will be shopping for summer stuff for DS and pack, pack, packing!

rubyriley · 13/05/2009 23:05

likeyoursleeves You lucky devil Enjoy!! Menorca's lovely and flight not too long, very nice indeed!

Christiana Hope your knees, palms feeling better and what a shock it must have been. We kind of get out of the habit of falling over as adults don't we? Do it all the time as kids but as adults it can really shake us up, especially when pregnant Glad you missed your belly though, sure baby's oblivious

Gillyan Your msg tickled me pink!! I'm getting similar comments; feel like saying, here's the tape measure, bet you twenty quid I'm around my dates NOT 8 weeks further on (you a...hole)!! Why can't folk who clearly haven't got a clue what a pg woman looks like keep their opinions to themselves? Maybe we need to hide away for the last few weeks as are self conscious re our size when should be proud of our healthy bumps concealing our equally precious babies!!

And friend said today, ooh your third is the worst delivery (with a big smile) Aren't some people SICK!!! Why would someone want to tell you that??!! Replied that another friend had asked whether had had that comment yet (she had experienced the "quick to tell you how painful the 3rd labour will be" brigade) as it was rubbish, her 3rd was so quick and painless, she had no pain relief. Ah, well, suppose every labour is different replied smug friend. With her 3rd, she reckoned they had to put their arm up and hold her cervix open to help the baby out. I think she's been watching too much All Creatures Great & Small or Vets in Practice if I'm showing my age

Becca Sorry to hear about your GD but glad they are looking after you well now and you'll be closely monitored

Getting more anxious about the birth now (suppose natural) especially as my LO is above the top centile on the graph and has been all along. Heard that they can be 3lb out when estimating size, hoping this is true otherwise will be giving birth to toddler size baby. OMG

rubyriley · 13/05/2009 23:16

Forgot to say hunny maybe you need to pluck up the courage to tell your dad that he's making you unhappy. Think of it as a heart to heart not a confrontation. If you want to change things, you have to make changes happen. Mention that the door was open and how upset you felt about it. Tell your dad that, whilst you love him, you would like a couple of weeks on your own. Sometimes you just have to be honest and say how you feel xx

hi everyone - hope you all have a much better day today!!

i am just sooo mad this morning and trying to calm myself down. i went to sleep angry and have woken up angry. its the bloody next door neighbours again. the lady next door has no control over her teenage kids - they pretty much tell her where to go and then she goes absolutely beserk, screaming, doors slamming the works. this all kicked off at about half ten last night after i'd been in bed an hour already! the noise she makes is something else. you can hear every single word in our room and then when i went into DS' it was even worse so i shouted through the wall to have some consideration for other people! DH was watching football in wigan and didnt get back to the early hours or i would have sent him next door. he says he is going to have words with her when he sees her. sorry to rant but god she annoys me. she doesnt work so it doesnt matter to her whether she gets a decent night sleep or not!!

on top of that DS has suddenly started wanting to go to bed at 5pm! on tuesday he was flat out when we went to pick him up from m-in-l and last night he had a tantrum as soon as i walked in the door with him. i told him to go upstairs to his room and not come down until he was calm and ready to say sorry. ten minutes later i went upstairs and he was in bed, fully clothes and fast asleep! so after 12 hours sleep he was raring to go at 5am!

i may fall asleep at my desk today. either that or self combust with anger!!

on a lighter note - a friend of a friend has just had a baby at 35 weeks without ever knowing she was pregnant. how on earth does someone not notice a small person wriggling around inside them?!!

Hope everything is OK now Gillyan at home. And for you too Mickey - sounds like your neighbours want shooting with shit . And wow about the baby being born to a Mum who didn't know she was pregnant! Imagine that - just breezing through it all, completely unaware and oblivious. I'm sort of jealous - at least she won't have had all the anxious times that we've all had, and been peeing in bottles, and waiting for hours in Antenatal clinics.
No shorts for a bit then christiana - ouch that sounds really sore, and I imagine baths (one of the very few of life's great pleasures left to this pregnant lady), must be complete agony at the moment . I hope you feel better soon chuck.
Antenatal/ParentCraft thingy last night and I'm ashamed to say I was comparing bump sizes when we arrived . Felt better after the intro's though because some were due in June and some in August so the due dates were spread across 3 months. I thought DP was going to throw up when she talked about having a show. Bless - MW took all the mystery out of being a woman. And then I was a bit on the way home because he asked whether the baby would be able to open it's eyes when it was born. I love that man
I got one of the lads to ask him what the three signs of labour were this morning to see if he remembered - he said waters breaking, contractions and then "Something gross about mucous that you don't want to know about" - we were falling about laughing

slushy06 · 14/05/2009 11:38

My friend had a unexpected delivery you usually have periods and no illness. She barely gained a stone and it was all over her body saw her a week before she had the baby at 36 weeks. I would never have guessed. Not lucky though baby had to go in scbu because birth weight was so small 3pound something and she had harmed the baby with drinking smoking and all the other things you stop doing while pg. Baby 6 months now she is still having weight gain troubles. mickeylou I hope your friends baby is healthy and well. Also sorry for all those having a bad time hope things get better soon. when will you all pack the hospital bag, I am wondering whether to do mine.

mickeylou · 14/05/2009 11:58

hiya, i wouldnt say this girl is very overweight. ( diplomatic smiley) my friend said she didnt miss a period and felt fine all the way through until she went into labour that is! her baby is healthy thank goodness .

this baby is so active i just cant imagine not knowing she was there!

at least she wasnt hanging about, waiting to go into labour. 40 weeks is a long time when you've known from week 4!!

i am calm now. just resisting the urge to get my lawyer head on and write my neighbour a snotty letter!!

oh jetli so funny about DH and the show! i remember saying to DH at one point in labour - i'm sure something has gone bang inside me. i was away with it on gas and air at the time. he very calmly told me it hadnt whilst he repeatedly pressed the button for the midwife. he later told me it was like something out of the final scene from Carrie. poor boys - they really do get their eyes opened!!

xxhunnyxx · 14/05/2009 12:19

I feel much better today . I told my Dad that I need some time on my own and I want to get baby's room ready and he told me that he's lookin for a place to rent asap. He didnt get home till late last night so I curled up on the sofa with my blanket, lit some candles and treated myself to a small glass of wine and made a start on my 1kg bar of chocolate that I got given at work. It was just what I needed

I always find it difficult to believe these stories of women not knowing they are pregnant. I mean how can you not notice an elbow sticking out of you? lol

Are anybody else's nipples really sore at the mo? I've also discovered that if I squeeze my boobs they leak a bit (sorry if TMI) I found it quite amazing and I'm quite proud of my body for being so clever lol.

jetli that is funny what your DP said, defo think he must be thinking you're havin a puppy lol.

woollyjo · 14/05/2009 12:25

Misp we are camping this weekend (I'll be just 34 weeks) and again when I am just 37 (my dates change at the weekend)we love camping, dd is so excited and I won't get any more in this year unless we have a balmy Sept.

Misspaella · 14/05/2009 15:40

Wollyjo if you are camping at 34 and 37 weeks then I am sure I will be fine for my weekend away.

Mickeylou I would get that solicitor hat on if I were you. Your neighbours sounds awful and you really won't want that happening with the baby around.

Leaking boobs - Hunny mine are leaking too but not enough to warrant breast pads. Just some droplets in the evening. I never had this with my last 2 pg so it is quite bizarre. Glad you chatted to your dad. Must be such a relief.

Activity when do you move? Before the due date? Nothing like a house move in the last trimester to make anyone anxious.

Giving birth and not knowing you were pregnant - that is BIZARRE*. .

QueenFee · 14/05/2009 20:02

struggling to keep up with all the talking going on here these days!

My baby has dicovered how nice it is to tuck it's feet under my ribs whilst at the same time pressing hard onmy cervix - very uncomfotable

I keep saying I must get my bags packed but something is stopping me. The only thing I have to get for my labour bag now is snacks/ food. Does anyone know of any long life food that is nice to pop in for DH (2 days is a bit long to go without food and hospitals don't feel OH's!) The last twice he has had a john west pasta that you can get but I think he is dreading having to eat one again!

I get comments ranging from gosh you huge to it's very small to your all up front blah blah - they can't all be right! I am actually measuring big for my dates and am likely to have a larger baby anyway but I sometimes take great delight in telling people in a straight face actually we are very worried as the baby is very small/big depending on the comment given people don't half skulk away fast when they think they have put their foot in it.

It's breastfeeding awareness week this week so I have been busy doing parentcraft classes (very weird being on the other side of the fence) and chatting to antenatal/new mums. The bonus is I get to know all the midwives really well increasing my chances of having someone I know in labour! Seeing all those tiny naked babies being weighed at the clinic really made me long to have mine now though I haven't leaked any milk yet but I know it must be there because I can now smell it. (freaky person emoticon)

krumbockmummy · 14/05/2009 20:38

Hi everyone hope all is well

Gillyan- comments are bad, but was in line at boots and some random person put there hand on my bump and said "How long have you got" i went insane shouting "even pg women have personal space and if u touch me again i will beat u with the bloody end of your arm" was in a really really bad mood already that day was shouting at ever1 but that was the last straw. Could not believe it!!

Have calmed done alot since then, but baby is breech at min hoping he will turn in the next few wks got consultant again to discuss birth had c-section with 1st really wanting natural this time so fingers are crossed

Mrsmope · 15/05/2009 12:06

krumbockmummy your comments really made me
laugh as I'm glad it's not just me who gets
annoyed when people make comments like 'Your'e huge' or 'you've got wider now' especially when it's people you don't even know. I find that the fact that my body changes in pregnancy really difficult and have spent lots of time crying over it. Women always seem to comment on how beautiful pregnant women look but I can't say that I agree. It probably doesn't help that my husband has not been anywhere near me for at least five months, so I now feel like an unattractive human pumpkin.

On the plus side my hand foot and mouth virus has gone which is a bonus but had a nasty scare this morning when I had the most agonising abdomen and back pain and thought I was about to give bith. I have been having slightly painful braxton hicks contractions for weeks now but have no idea what the pain this morning was but it certainly shook me up, so much so I cried after from shock. I have had a child but this seemed a lot worse than any labour pain I can remember having. I don't have a local midwife to ring as they sort of wrote me off when they discovered I was having twins saying I would be under the hospital consultant. Does anyone know what this pain could be it was in my right lower abdomen and back and lasted for about 2 minutes?

I have a hospital appt this afternoon with the aneathetist (?) so will ask then but am too scared to drive anywhere on my own now so have had to phone my husband to come home from work to take me. He probably thinks I'm a right drama queen, but can't face the possibility of giving birth on the hard shoulder of the A12.
