Morning all! Go Kitty, and hi Kitty's DH..soon to be proud daddy

Hi Lauren - hope those tightenings turn into something for you!

MM - not heard of that before, hope you get it sorted soon.

Well I feel happier today. Have decided that baby will just come when she wants to (just hope you lot are all still around here when I'm still waiting to pop!!). Was awake all night long, no idea why. Everytime I turned over baby fell to the other side but no pain, no tightenings, nothing other than that.

Took the DS's to school this morning. Wasn't too bad really although lots of people gasping and pointing that I still hadn't popped! Least that's out of the way now and I even stood talking at the gates for 45 mins after in the sunshine so all in all I feel a lot better now. So I am going to do a bit of housework and then maybe have a little nap this afternoon before picking them up

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 20/04/2009 09:55

Id love to be able to bf, my mum could only manage a week with me, but shes even said she wasn't as maternal in that cuddly closeness way as what she thinks i'll be which was nice

Ive got some bottles with the teats to use if your bf, and a box of formula in case.. so either way baby will be fed its up to him

i havent got any nursing bras yet! how bad is that?! how many would you recommend? we meant to get some at the weekend but then DP was tied down with uni work and we never went!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 20/04/2009 10:01

hi surprise i dont feel like anythings going to happen.. but then ive never done this before so what would i feel like?!? haha

surprise dont worry i can assure you i will still be here..think they got my due date wrong.. think im due NEXT APRIL

surprisenumber3 · 20/04/2009 10:04

lol Lauren.

One of my clients has just asked me if I'm free to help out with a bit of work today and I've said yes - I must be mad, lol.
Only about 3 hours, will keep me occupied anyway!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 10:13

Sorry quick question - am filling out the child tax credit form thing and which birth certificate do I send - is it the short A4 pinky one or the full ones?

brett, she's gorgeous!

Yay, new thread! A new thread for the rest of the babies - & that includes Nutty, after all this time & anguish! Tomorrow, lady! TOMORROW!

Congratulations Reallytired! Very fast labour!

purple, your MIL isn't half eager to receive that ironing I can't see myself ever being that sort of woman - I don't iron anything! We do own an iron & ironing board, but they've never been used. Ever. I am unashamed

I wished that I'd taken drinks with me - I left DH to pack his own (& he forgot!) but after he went home to pick up the car seat & I was left on the ward I was without anything to drink for about 3 hours after giving birth until I had to make a fuss. I also wasn't given any food until lunchtime (after arriving at hospital just after 9pm & birthing at 5am), but I'd got snacks in my bag. I may have passed out without them.

Oh, also make sure you have stuff to clean your baby up with - he had to come home totally covered in dried gunk because the hospital left us to it. So just a small bowl or something to put some water into for top & tailing would be a good idea, I think.

I didn't use most of the stuff in my bag though, but only because I didn't have to stay in overnight. I also forgot that most of it was in there once I was in the throes & all of my plans to have a cool flannel to mop my forehead went out of the window

BB, Kara is hilarious - I love the picture with the stripy babygrow. I can practically hear him being all "Why are you photographing me?! I'm trying to relax!" & your bathroom antics are just insane.

Nutty, I like that your fanjo is full of rubble & cobwebs & also that you'll be straight back here

Oooooooooooooh, Kitty!

BB, know what you mean about Groundhog Day. DH is out at uni for the first time & I was looking forward to it because I thought it'd be different. But it's not. I'm tempted to go out, but I've never done that alone either & don't think I can be bothered to get the pram down the stairs with my stitches still hurting.

I really miss sex too. I had a sex dream on the 2nd night after George - even though my whole fanjo was in agony. I'm looking forward to being able to have sex almost as much as I was looking forward to having a baby I definitely won't be physically ready for a couple of weeks at least. I should wait for the 6 weeks after my incontinence issues, but I think it may kill me. 23rd May seems like a long time from now!

MM, I had a lump of something come out the other day. It terrified me & I phoned my MW, but she didn't answer. So I texted her & no reply. I just gave up in the end & there's been nothing since (& I've not got a temperature or anything) - I'm pleased to have a suggestion of what it may be. It was too big for a clot (about the size of a large marble) & looked more like placenta or something, but figured that it wasn't, as my milk was already in & perfectly fine - I know that retained placenta hinders that. Whatever it was, it was disgusting & really scary.

Ooh, a man in our midst! Hello Kitty's DH! (We love you, by the way - you're a fine example of manhood with your wonderful spoiling of your lovely, lovely wife )

It's taken me ages to catch up because of a very wriggly baby on my lap (with far too much head control for his age! It's weird!) so I hope to have missed lots of action in that time

SpringySponge · 20/04/2009 10:47

I've not missed much at all! I was hoping for a Kitty update!

& I'd have thought just the little one (we've not registered George yet, so I may be wrong ) but don't you have to choose to buy the full one separately? & people would still have to be able to claim even if they didn't buy it?

It's nice to be online! I've been missing you all!

George appears to have decided that my arm is far more likely to dispense milk that my boob which is right there.

Still, it's an improvement on yesterday when he was trying to latch on to the sofa

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 10:58

Springy you will NEVER make it to 23 May!!!

& honestly, I don't know how I'm missing sex so much! I'm still in loads of pain down there & the thought of the reality of it is awful. But ohhhh, I want to. It doesn't help that DH's daddying skills are so cute & make him even sexier than before. I could just cry with frustration!

It's his birthday on Friday, too - so I'll give him a BJ & it'll just be even worse!

(This isn't quite what I thought my worries during early motherhood would be )

SpringySponge · 20/04/2009 11:04

I'm glad I get to be here for your last day of pregnancy, Nutty

& I know, BB! It's still forever away! & we keep having sexy kisses & it's such forbidden fruit! I really expected to not even want to for a few weeks, but no... My libido is unstoppable.

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 11:33

I do know how you feel, DH was all shaven and cuddly with Kara last night and I wanted to jump him!! Ah bless his first birthday as a daddy!!! and this morning at 5 when Kara finally went to sleep I had to fight myself not to wake him up (but then remembered we don't have anything and I am NOT getting pregnant again for a long while!!!)

Kara likes to suck my tummy (I think it is the sheer size of it - he's like woah that is some proper food!!!) He is currently in his moses basket snoring and farting in his sleep (takes after his father - disgusting boy!!!) He's had a lovely 2.5 hour sleep so I reckon I have another 30 minutes or so before the changing, feeding cycle starts again!

I have spent the morning doing paperwork, (am refusing to tidy the house as I seem to do that every day!) sorting out the piles of post that have come in the past 2 weeks, child benefit forms etc etc, have ordered the child tax credit thing but from what I can work out online I am only entitled to something like £17.50 a year so not sure it is worth it! Had so many forms in that stupid bounty pack was a bit daunted but actually most of it was just junk!! Feel very well organised just have to get some final bits from the post office and my photo's done and signed etc and then I will be finally up to date (could have done this before Kara was born but didn't want roots in my pic - yes I am vain!!!) just DH's tax return to do and I am not doing that today - no way - far too many scary numbers to work out!!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 11:36

Nutty, this time tomorrow you will be in LABOUR!!!!

SpringySponge · 20/04/2009 11:50

Yes, exactly! Oh, being a daddy makes them so yummy!

A man from E.On just phoned & wanted to talk to DH about why we're leaving them. Even though it's all in my name, from our joint account & I've done all of the comparisons & transfer of provider myself It's amazing how many times we come across this blatant sexism.

I've not really achieved anything yet. I should phone to make an appointment to register George. I've not even had breakfast yet - & I didn't have dinner last night, because I wasn't hungry. I thought breastfeeding was meant to give you a crazy appetite?!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 11:58

It had made me completely the opposite - hardly eat anything at meal times - don't get me wrong can eat chocolate until the cows come home (particularly any form of cadbury's easter eggs) but my meal sizes have literally halved! today I have had 2 plain fahitta wraps and just don't feel like anything else - DH got a bit of a bee in his bonnet about it and is making me eat proper meals which is fine as I love food but I just can't have the volume I had before!

Kara does not like me typing when he is feeding - am getting some proper evils - like why are you not devoting ALL your attention to me mum!

My gas and electric bill just came through - no matter how much I expect them every 3 months they are the two bills I hate the most!!

bronze · 20/04/2009 12:18

afternoon all

bronze · 20/04/2009 12:22

I can't be bothered with writing my birth story so you can have a copy of the concise version I have on my blog
On tuesday all hyped up and bursting with ideas I took the children out into the garden and started digging. We cleared one of the veg patches full of weeds, emptied a composts bin worth of chicken poo onto it and forked it over. I say we I should really say I but it was nice having them out with me. About halfway through the afternoon himself came out and started work on our remodel of the play area. The children of course decided it was much more interesting to help him.
That evening I started leaking and spent the majority of the night watching tv on the sofa.
When morning came I knew my waters had definitely gone so it was a mad rush round to make the house decent. Eventually I realised I was properly contracting and this was it so himself rang the mil and we decided he should take the dog to the kennels. Thats when it kicked off. By the time he got back it was every 3 minutes and we left in a hurry. We were so sure he would be born within minutes of arriving (11amish) but after a while of painful contractions they almost stopped completely. They did start up again but I was fully dilated and going nowhere so after an hour a doctor was called who talked down to me in that wonderful way that a lot of doctors do. He organised a syntocin drip then went on his merry way.
Not really wanting the drip but worried about going against doctors advice I wobbled between letting them put in a canula and not but luckily for me the contractions intensified before they got a chance and at 2.30. Isaac John was born. A little scrap of wrinkled purpleness.
I even got to have my physiological final stage with the placenta arriving on its own accord about 20 minutes and a sandwch later. We brought our little man home that evening. My Dads birthday...what a present!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 12:29

Ah bronze that is lovely - how did granddad enjoy the present? and how are the other LO's enjoying their new brother?

You doing ok?

surprisenumber3 · 20/04/2009 12:47

Ah, that's lovely Bronze...need to get digging as I don't need to demolish the bathroom!

Have been sat on office chair working all morning and I can't feel my fanjo, is totally numb!! and talking of fanjo's, I have to pee every few mins and I'm getting really sore cos of all the wiping
