Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 22:58

Lauren - I have had the same, which probably explains why I have foud sex so uncomfortable. I have cream for thrust that I had a while ago that I have used when it is wuite sore and it does help - probably mainly because it's cold so helps reduce the swelling? I haven't got a clue what it means but I am glad I am not the only one as I wasn't sure if it was normal or not! .

Has everybody else shaved down there for child birth? Mine is in a right state?!?!? .

I have soo much pressure on my cervix (or somewhere down there anyway!!) it is really painful. Has ben like it for days but keeps getting worse

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 20/04/2009 03:25

i'm here!!! ctx now every 6-8 mins, really sore, can't sleep but am smiling because FINALLY we're getting somewhere! yay!
will be calling mw once we hit 5 mins...
flat all ready for HB...
pom-poms and bolero on standby...
DH ready to do live birth thread...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 20/04/2009 04:59

now 5-6 mins apart - and getting almost unbearable... shall I call the MW yet? Might also try a bath again to see if that helps...

So exciting but so ouchy! Can't wait for that gas&air!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 07:13

Kitty yay!!!! Am so so excited, I've never been so obsessed with knowing where my phone is!!!! come on buddy-o-mine I am mooing for you!!!

Nutty, love the birth story but lets hope you don't get the drip as then chocolate is banned (I didn't realise this and was most unhappy!!!) BUT OMG ONE MORE SLEEP!!!! [GRIN]

Can I just personally say that if I do this again I will be going in with a full bush in my lady garden (sorry) as re-growth from waxing / shaving + stitches has not been an enjoyable experience IMO!!!

OK 2 questions

  1. When does it stop feeling like groundhog day with a new baby???
  1. For all those 2nd / 3rd timers - when you did the deed again with your DH post baby, did it really hurt, really want to do it (obviously with about 15 condoms on just n case!!!) but am a bit anxious about it... hmmm

Thanks re pics - I am bias but I do think he is adorable (although not in the early hours of this morning when he was awake for 3 hours - again no big screams just awake and not wanting to be put down!) grrr

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 07:39

OK wake up or at least have some babies - am bored!!!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/04/2009 07:45

how can you be bored? don't you have lovely baby stuff to do?

good morning!

maybe kitty's too deep into the birthing thang to be botehred to come let US know what's happening. selfish. selfish.

i am soooo freaking tired. little tiny babies are supposed to keep you up all night 3yos ar NOT. and the apparent ear ache disappeared as soon as the sun came up. it was a miracle

re: the sex thing. did you tear? (can't remmeber sorry) if you did you might want to wait a bit.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/04/2009 08:01

oh sure...now I'M bored!!! lol

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 20/04/2009 08:03

Sex???? Are you kidding??? I'm NEVER having sex again as long as I live!!!

5 mins apart still - so sore they're making me cry - calling the MW right now while DH is plastic-wrapping our lounge...

purplemonkeydishwasher · 20/04/2009 08:04

oh KITTY!!!!!!!! good luck!!!!

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 08:24

go kitty!!! it does hurt - i actually found that bit the worst, once you really get going the adrenaline kicks in a bit so its more manageable!!

lol at plastic wrapping!!!

ive washed the dishes, tidied (a bit) done a load of washing, made up all the clean nappies, am currently feeding kara!!!

i had no external tearing just internal - sorry if tmi - have had no bleeding for a few days and feeling much better down there but don't want to ruin any good healing iykwim!!!

Schulte · 20/04/2009 08:30

Yay Kitty! So excited! Let us know how you're getting on... any news from Lauren?

BB, know what you mean about groundhog day, can't remember what the answer is though! Actually, let me think... I still feel like groundhog day every morning when DD comes shuffling into our bedroom at 6am and then it's the usual routine of reading a few books, getting her washed and dressed, going downstairs for weetabix... I think I even use exactly the same words every day in exactly the same order. So there you go

Re. the sex, we tried after 6 weeks and it was REALLY sore - like being a virgin but twice as bad if that makes sense. I think I even cried. But then I did have very bad internal tears (only one stitch on the outside I think). Good luck.

Schulte · 20/04/2009 08:34

Oh, right. So I think it was my internal scar that made things so painful. It almost felt like the stitches hadn't dissolved properly. It did get better after a while - but it certainly took time. And the scar started hurting again during this pregnancy which is why I've been totally off sex.

Anyway, it might be completely different for you BB and there is only one way to find out

mathshoneybunny27 · 20/04/2009 08:35

girls...anyone else had this? membrane from amniotic sac still stuck inside..damn cervix has clamped down on it....a huge piece came out this morning

yuck!

Schulte · 20/04/2009 08:36

Never heard of anything like this MM - would talk to MW in case they need to have a look?

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 09:02

oooh MM never heard of that either but urgh!!! i would call mw too x

Thanks Schultes - might give it a try - will let you know how i get on - notes say 2nd degree tear internally so may need to wait a bit longer - hmmmm

how you doing kitty??

so hands up who just heard Kara screaming from his nappy change!!! you would have thought i was sticking knives in him (not that there were any real tears!!!) and now he is curled up on my lap sleeping like an angel!!!

He's already growing out of his clothes!!! he's only 15 days!! he'll be off at uni before i know it!!!!

Yes nutty, no food or drink (other than water) once the sync drip is in! grrrrr - DH was off to the restaurant to buy me some sandwiches when I was told no food or drink - but don't compensate on food with the water - I did that then had some extreme vomiting!!

I just feel like i am constantly feeding, changing, feeding, getting him to sleep, cleaning the house, washing nappies and clothes, feeding, changing, feeding, .... It's all worth it but I did wake up today and think 4 weeks ago I was in full on work mode and now it feels like my biggest achievement in a day is getting a 16 day old baby to burp or poo! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change it for anything but it is a massive life change!!!

MM re breastfeeding I like it too but then I am lucky to have a little boy with a big mouth who likes his food so it is mostly a very stress free experience and a good time for some mummy-baby snuggles!!!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 20/04/2009 09:32

HI this is Kitty's DH!! The midwife has arrived and doing the checks...

BabyBolat · 20/04/2009 09:34

(((((((hugs))))))) nutty, you are right to be upset, it is a massive change and your DD will cope amazingly! From what I have heard she is a very very well-rounded child who will completely embrace being a big sister! But it is a big change for you, having to share your time and life with another DD but you will also be amazing - you will be a great mum to both of them!!!

You have been dealing with the pain for so long that the baby part of pregnancy hasn't really been an issue so far so it's bound to have crept up on you now you know it is tomorrow!

Just think of all the good things - how excited DD will be when she bounds in to that hospital to see her little sister and how many hugs you will get then! Her helping you change nappies and bath her little sister!

morning Lauren - all is going in the right direction - fingers crossed you wont be waiting too long now!!

re bf'ing - I think the best thing I did was not stress about it - had heard so many bad stories that thought well I will give it a go and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work - there is nothing I can do about it!
