Hello everybody Here is the shiny new thread, hope you found it ok!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
OonaghBhuna · 30/04/2009 19:51

I am, 27 weeks, so roll on 28.Heloo to all, have been lurking, my Dds have been horrendous over the past 1.5 weeks, screaming, whinging and not eating I am almost at the end of my tether I need a break.

nellyup · 30/04/2009 20:07

duchesse not warped at all, I can't help thinking like that either! I'm 28 weeks tomorrow so heading into 3rd trimester (they shifted my dates so its wrong on our list, I must update that at some point).

My whinge for the evening is that I am totally fed up with people coming up to me and saying 'ooh, not long now'. In the last few days at least a dozen playground mums have done it, the postman, the librarian, various neighbours and to cap it all off the flippin midwife did it yesterday. I know people mean well but its making me very self-conscious about being so huge I look like I'm about to pop, and seriously worried about just how big I'm going to get.

But, for those who were asking, round here midwives do measure the bump at every appointment (and apparently my measurements are perfectly normal).

craftynclothy · 30/04/2009 20:11

Sheena - I'll bring them both along to the next meeting

HeinzSight · 30/04/2009 21:28

sorry to about others' SPD woes. I can relate, although my SPD is isolated to my sacroiliace joint and is excruciatingly painful , what we go through eh.

crafty, what meeting is this???

OonaghBhuna · 30/04/2009 23:02

Nellyup- I totally understand, my baby is within the normal size etc but I am really sensitive about my bump and fed up with innappropriate comments about my size.
What annoys me is that I havent put on much weight anywhere else.

Hawkmoth · 30/04/2009 23:12

duchesse yes, though I don't have the probabilities. I probably manage to half convince myself I'm in early labour at least once a day. Mostly it's bladder/constipation pain though.

I just need something to worry about I suppose. When did women stop being able to relax and enjoy growing new people?

kitkatqueen · 30/04/2009 23:51

I keep getting the OMG you're huge!! comments, then I point out that with the last 3 I was bigger by 3 dress sizes by now. m'wife didn't measure fundal height on mnday so no idea if I am officially big or not. Its the shock horror look, that I am pregnant that I hate!

Welcome Martine & Sheena!

More SPD woes here....got referred to the wrong place initially, so after much calling around yesterday I finally got ahold of the obstetric physio and confirmed that I did have a referral there. Apparently they got the referral two weeks ago, I have an appointment on 28th May, so waiting FOUR MORE FECKING WEEKS on top of the 2 months I have already waited!!

DH is very pissed off and has been researching osteopaths for me. We can't afford it, but I'm sick of being in pain all the time and he's sick of waiting for someone to do something about it.

I whined enough on the phone about the wait that the lady said I could attend the 'pelvic girdle pain group' next Thursday--no idea what to expect, if anything, from that.

Occupational health at work have sent me a letter saying I have an appointment to see them on 28th May as well, but they can f*ck right off if they think I'm missing a physio appointment for that. Will probably have turned in my resignation by then anyway.

olivo · 01/05/2009 10:27

blimey, some of yuo are having a hard time getting the treatment you need. I am really lucky, saw Gp yesterday nad was referred and given a same day appt with the obs physio, my gp phoned and she had a cancellation. have got two support belts, some exercises and lots of information. i have been signed off for a week, to rest a bit too.

i am now 23 weeks but huge and really not enjoying this pg. dd hasnt slept through for the past 2 weeks and last night was up every hour or so, i'm knackered!
baby/bump is huge too but very active, which reassures me.
am going to tentatively start getting some things down from the loft and sort out what we might need - long way to go but the end is in sight!

martinemorris · 01/05/2009 11:46

lol, all your posts have been making me laugh this morning...

The OMG youre huge is sooooooooooo boring....

If one more person says that to me I swear ill go for them!! ;-)

Am officialy 26 weeks tomorrow so definitely feel like its downhill from here!!

Am looking forward to the weekend as going away to the coast, will be so nice to get away from it all....

Hope everyone isnt feeling too bad and have a gr8 weekend.

Martine x

readyfornumber2and3 · 01/05/2009 12:04

Hi all x
Hope all bumps are doing well

Sorry to all of those suffering with SPD and work related probs ((((hugs))))

Well I am 23+1 today and feeling pretty good, My nesting has definately kicked in these last couple of weeks! I cant bear the kitchen to be untidy in the slightest lol
I wasnt a slob before but if I was tired I would leave the dishes till morning, at the moment I have to do the washing up before I eat (apart from my plate of course lol)

I am being kicked to death and feel like I am carrying an octopus lol, I see the consultant next week for a scan and check up so hopefully all will be fine (will be great to see them though )

Had a lovely suprise this morning, we are going to the NEC baby show in a couple of weeks and DP had entered a competition to win tickets and he won lol They arrived this morning, not a major win but still saves us £25

craftynclothy · 01/05/2009 12:08

Heinz - Tis Choices in Childbirth meetings (Sheena & I live in roughly the same area and both go to them)

Grrr to all the 'big' comments. I haven't had any but I think it may be cos I don't look as big as last time (though I think it's more cos I started off a bigger size this time so the difference in what I've added on is smaller if that makes sense???)

Am a bit fed up here. Have heartburn. Need to sort house out cos ILs coming tomorrow. Have loads of work to do. Dh not really helping - he hoovered this morning but didn't really clear anything up first and didn't do the hall, stairs, landing or bedrooms. He's also meant to be moving loads of stuff into the loft but hasn't. I can't do it cos I'm too achey.

lalarachel · 01/05/2009 22:22

I love having a big bump, and I quite like being a bit rounder elsewhere, except in the Mamas & Papas changing room which has the least flattering lighting imaginable.

Found a teeny stretchmark on my thigh, but I think it's an old one as it's the same colour as the rest of me (ie snow white). I've just bought some Palmer's cocoa butter stuff, I'm generally VERY lax about any kind of moisturising. Didn't even comb my hair today either come to think of it.

Hawkmoth · 03/05/2009 18:07

Aren't we all quiet on weekends? Everyone must have a much better social life than me!

Bit of a scare on Friday, some old blood when wiping so had to go in to hospital to be checked, swabbed and given Anti-D. Don't know what it was, could be related to DD trying to get baby out through belly button then hitting me when she got moved off!

Anti-D given in arm. Hurt when it went in, hurt more when she pushed the needle further in halfway through. Arm went numb then, but no bruise!!! So I'm not really moaning about it.

I'm determined to look on the bright side this week. I might even write a list of things to buy... that'll cheer me up

YanknCock · 03/05/2009 21:19

Hawkmoth, how scary!!! All okay now?

I bought a used Quinny Buzz on ebay today, with the Dreami carrycot. So stupid, I really should have asked what model year it was, have no idea. Paid £102 for both items so hope to god they will be ok. DH not happy because we have to drive to Leicester from Warrington tomorrow (about 2 hours). Again, not sure what I was thinking!

We also started redecorating the single bedroom that is due to be baby's. I just about managed to scrape off two panels of wallpaper before my back/pelvis hurt so badly I had to go sit down. DH persisted for another hour, but then collapsed and fell asleep on the sofa. We are desperately out of shape. At least we've got loads of time and can do it gradually.

Today was the due date for the baby I miscarried in September. Thought I should do something, but never quite figured out what. So ended up just having quiet moments thinking about 'the Pea' whenever I wasn't distracted.

HeinzSight · 03/05/2009 21:54

Hawkmoth, sorry to hear about your bleed. Those anti D injections can be so sore!!

Yank, also sorry for you. Must have been a strange/sad day today for you thinking of the baby you lost. (((hugs)))

MichaelaS · 04/05/2009 00:56

Hi ladies, haven't been on here in a while but you will soon see why.

It's very late and there is a lot to say, but i will keep it brief for now and let you know more later.

Well, it turns out my bump would not be beaten by any of yours, and he has arrived already! Yes, we have had our baby. He is totally lovely, but very very sick. He was born on Friday 1st at 2.34pm and at 24+1 gestation.

Please join me and my husband Darren in praying for him, particuarly his lungs, a huge infection he has, and his brain. Its all pretty scary but we love him so much already.

He is called Nathan David.

More when time and inclination overlap.

hope you're all doing well with your pregnancies, and hope you all get a lot lot nearer to term than we did.

love Michaela

mamamila · 04/05/2009 01:53
