Well, in fairness, the twins will be 3 in a couple of weeks' time. The triplets will be 1 in May.

So in fact it's more like 5 in 2 years really. Which is mad, but they're managing beautifully.

Hi everyone. Just back from ante natal appointement and all is looking good. Have got my MatB1 form so I can tell work I'm officially pregnant now and can sit back and watch the fun as various people fight to be in the best position to do my maternity cover.

I've been in maternity clothes for a while now - last time round I bought one skirt and one pair of trousers so this time I decided I was going to make the most of it (as we don't have to buy loads of baby stuff). I also got quite big quite fast so needed some clothes, though I've slowed down in the last month. I'm going to have to take my jeans from Dorothy P's back though - they were fine in the changing room but as soon as I put them on for real and started to move, they were down round my knees which is probably not the best look for me right now.

Becksydee - I wondered whether that was your DP in the paper! Hope his elbow is on the mend. At least with so many people telling the same story, you've got to hope it will be taken seriously and that he'll get answers / apology / compensation.

Hello All - I cannot even imagine one let alone three, four or five yet! I am in East London (moving to Vancouver in November) and do not know anyone with children so would be happy to meet up!

Between DP and I we'll have four at 6, 3, 2 and new. Mine is the 3yo, she's almost exactly a year older than the 2yo... so we have two stubborn Saggitarius girls. I hope the baby will get inbetween their arguments!

I've brought lunch for three people to work today, as I can't string a sentence together unless I'm fully-fed! I feel right gormless!

Last night I dreamt I'd had the baby, but couldn't remember the labour! Very strange, but no stitches or tearing!!!

hope you all enjoyed the easter break, nice to see all is going well for most and the movements are very noticable. i cant believe the difference a week makes in feeling the kicks, only a fortnight ago i wasnt sure if i could feel any movements at all now they're flat out and strong enough to feel through the skin, i even seen my belly move with a kick. husband was getting fed up of me telling him to "feel this quick" cuz he never felt anything, then he felt a kick the other evening for first time, i told him my sis had felt it and he said i cant feel anything and anyone that says they can are full of shit and with that came a kick, i said your bound to have felt that so he admitted he did and had to retract his previious comment

Hi Michaela i had that lletz done in jan 08, no one ever mentioned to me about it interfering with holding a preganacy until i read a thread about it on here last week so im gonna mention it to the midwife at my next appointment in case its not on my file. i was in for my 21 weeks scan last week when she scanned and saw twins she said it didnt mention twins on my file which was a bit worrying!

Hi valz wow what disorganisation! Can't believe they missed twins off your file!!

I'd definitely mention it to the midwife and ask for a cervical length scan, with twins you'll be carrying more weight and have a higher chance of delivering early anyway. Most people are fine I think, its just if there is a problem they can give pessaries or a stitch to fix it, so as it's easily fixed it's something worth checking.

I'm still worrying though, 1 week and 1 day to go until I find out how my cervix is doing....

actually what I really want to know is will I be safe to go to Spain for a week around 27 weeks, or am I at risk of labour that early?

I can't believe some of you are only now getting into mat clothes I am huge - in fact a couple of people have asked me if I'm having twins. I've put on about 12 pounds and I'm 23 weeks.

I'm in Canada quixotic I'm going to dm you as I'm just outside Vancouver so a bit far for a meetup - that said we're planning on being back in the UK for 4 - 6 weeks in December so would love to meet up then with all the baba's! We'll be in London and the Cotswolds!

Well I had my 20 week scan today (am 20+6) and all is well with both babies, we also found out that like I have suspected for the last couple of weeks that we are having 1 of each
Although I would have been happy with whatever they are I am over the moon with 1 of each and cant wait to start shopping lol

I see the midwife again on monday and then to have a growth scan and consultant appointment in 4 weeks so am looking forward to seeing and hearing them lots over the coming weeks

Hello ladies and shiney new thread.
Yes bump looks very big today according to my collegues. But I have taken to wearing tight clothes so no mistake can be made and I get a seat whereever I go!
My babba is also lying very low- why is this bad?
I have been having the oddest sharp pains over the weekend- in my abdomen, low down and on the sides- so may ring midwife tommoz...its a bit like a stitch. I especially notice it when Im on the loo (sorry TMI) anyone have any thoughts?

BumpVLump I have those pains when I wee, round the sides of my bump. I asked MW about it and she just said, "Hmm, yes, the muscles" and gave me a vaguely sympathetic look.

I also get them if I sneeze when leaning forward in a seat. I have never sneezed as much or as loud as during this pregnancy, "AACH-OWWWW!".

DP has another interview this Friday. I'm allowing myself to fantasize about what life would be like with the extra £6k. I keep thinking of all the steak and tropical fruit!

My bump is getting really heavy was out with the kids today and I could really feel it.I wonder if its lower down because its my third pregancy? Who knows but its starting to get uncomfortable.

i'm another big but low bump. should really buy more maternity jeans i'm wearing the same pair everyday. i have a lot of dresses but it's not warm enough for birks and i can't wear boots anymore. is anyone else still wearing heels?

and i have those sharp pains on underside of bump occasionally, epecially nasty if i roll out of bed awkwardly. my back's not too bad so far but i can't pick dd up as often as she'd like which is leading to tantrums. other than that good but easily exhausted.

Just dropping in to say hi and update with my new name and BOY! He is kicking up a storm today, feels very weird. I am sure I could feel it from the outside today, but DH is never in time to catch it.

First physio appt for SPD tomorrow. Hope you're all well, will read and catch up properly tomorrow.

Mamamila, believe me I never intended to have this many so fast its just the way it worked out, personally I'm at 5 in 2 years!!!!! thats amazing duchesse!!

Really need to find a thread that was started on tandem feeding a while back though as it looking more likely I will need the advice, If anyone has info its always welcome.

It's my birthday today
but a bit sad as my freind, lost her baby yesterday, she was 17 weeks, they think the baby may have got a virus of something, maybe even whopping cough, anyone heard of that being a cause?

It's a nice sunny autumn day here, so i'll try and get out.

i'm getting pretty big now, even have swelling in my legs already, baby also seems to get hicups alot like my other two did.

BabyBump2B - we are going to visit some friends in the US in November and hope to be in Vancouver before Christmas. DH parents in Langley, but I would like to live downtown somewhere to start as I think London to the back of beyond might be a bit of a shock to the system! Going to Toronto for a week to activate my visa next month which will make it all very real. Whereabouts are you?

Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend. We were down at my ILs and it felt like a real break. Caught a bit too much sun though .

Thanks for the mamas and papas link, got some trousers and a vest top for £8. The delivery cost was a bit of a killer though.

When is everyone thinking of finishing up on mat leave. I'm thinking of finishing at 31 weeks for various reasons one of which is going before they make me redundant so it has to be deferred until i come back. Plus I have potentially unlimited time off at the end of mat leave so no worries about extra time to spend with the baby!

Hi,

Been back to doc's today (just a follow up). Anyway told her about my anxiety about driving and she's given me a prescription...said it's safe in pregnancy, v low dose, etc. BUT having looked it up when I got back everywhere says this about it:

"Amitriptyline has been shown to cross the placenta. Although a causal relationship has not been established, there have been a few reports of adverse events, including CNS effects, limb deformities, or developmental delay, in infants whose mothers had taken amitriptyline during pregnancy. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Amitriptyline HCl should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit to the mother justifies the potential risk to the fetus."

So not sure I should be taking it
