Craftyandclothy, Quixotic - at your MIL's, they should know better. If we are on the MIL rant path, I do need to let off some steam too. I have MIL and Gran in Law (90!) coming to stay Sunday thru Thurs next week despite DH also working Mon-Fri so will have to entertain them too, as well as look after a toddler all day, I am dreading it , more so as I know I will not get any 'rest' time where I can just veg on the sofa in the evening... both of them are both 'Hyancith types'. I know I agreed it would be OK for them to stay... but 4 nights is a tad much!!! I did manage to force convince them though to change their dates from July!... oh fun week for me next week
SIL has also booked a visit in next month, which again I think is a tad late to stay for 2 nights with husband and 2 children in tow (who do destroy the house without tidying up after themselves).. we haven;t seen them for ages mind so it is important that we see them.. it just annoys me that some women who also have children can be so thoughtless some time about when they decide is a good time to turn up.
OK my rant over too. I just can;t believe women who havbe had babies can be so utterly thoughtless sometimes
Quixotic - i had the same issue with being unable to see my midwife last pregnancy, she was fully booked, on holiday or on a course from 20 wks until 36 wks. I have some shared care with my GP who was happy to take over the antenatal appts that my midwife was supposed to do, which I was very happy with . Here we have bloods retaken at 28wks, so I do think it is important that you get that done too, to at least monitor iron levels etc. My stnadard appts (from 20 wks are) 20 wks scan , 24 wk (GP), 28 wk (midwife and bloods), 32 wks (GP), 34wks (MW), 36wks (GP), 38wks (MW), 40wks (MW/Hospital)
