ScummyMummy · 26/04/2009 22:25

Yes, thanks, Crafty. i have sent off for one too.

nellyup · 27/04/2009 10:24

fairy - yeah we've chosen (tho not ordered yet) our pram. Ours is number 3 and other two are long past pram stage so we've gone for a Britax Vigour 4. Rear-facing, fits in the car, lie flat from birth without buying separate carrycot and we can even buy some adaptors to fit our car seat on apparently.

Not as nice as the M&P Skate I was coveting but decided to save the extra money for a McLaren runaround later on!

Mind you, I have already got my lovely soft jersey sling which I'm much more excited about using, its such a beautiful colour and seems so comfy (not that its easy to try on properly around ginormous bump).

valz · 27/04/2009 13:45

Ive read something like 90% of woman get stretchmarks too so im expecting them any day now, my belly seems to be mad with itch these days, im 24 weeks today. im just dreading the hangy belly thing, pray tell this dosnt happen!!

Re the bra, i had to quit wearing my underwired ones almost a month ago, they were just so uncomfortable and i found myself taking it off at work before the end of the day cuz i couldnt stick it any more, i bought a nursing one in debenhams which was quite comfortable but im finding it getting tight now so i'll have to get another.

Is anyone finding that they get full really quickly and then feel hungry an hour later? i feel like im bursting if i eat a banana on toast then im starving soon after, i think my tight bra is partly to blame!! im also getting the leg cramps at night, duuno how many times ive wakened just as a cramp is coming on, they're shite!! havent had leg cramps in years. oh i am wingey today

quixotic · 27/04/2009 14:56

Valz I have an really itchy belly too - I thought I must be allergic to something I am using, maybe not though? I am with you on the getting full - I am so uncomfortably full after eating anything, then hungry really quickly. I suppose the cure is to eat little and often, I am just really greedy and can't hold back though!

trixymalixy · 27/04/2009 15:57

I used bio oil religiously in my first pregnancy and thought I'd got away with it until I'd had DS and then saw a couple of stretchmarks under my bump . They're not that bad though and have faded a lot.

I've been really lax this time round and have used bio oil every so often. I seem much bigger this time so I'm bound to get loads.

I too just seem to have got massive in the last week. I hardly looked pregnant before and now I'm huge!!!

i gte the full up really quickly thing too.

I got my maternity clothes through from the mamas and papas sale. It's ok, but wouldn't have paid full price for them. The sizing is pretty big as well.

The maternity clothes I bought from H&M are my faves so far.

Haribosmummy · 27/04/2009 16:28

Trixymalixy! Are you sure you are not me????

I could have written your first 3 sentences word for word!!!!

quixotic · 27/04/2009 16:44

I am going to visit the Barkentine Birth Centre in East London tonight, I cannot find any opinions on Mumsnet about it. Has anyone been there/plan to give birth there please? Thanks.

trixymalixy · 27/04/2009 16:47

No pretty sure I'm still me .

BabyBump2B · 27/04/2009 17:06

Hi Ladies!

Another one here with stretchmarks (25 weeks). I was feel pretty good that I only had them on my hips (where I stupidly hadn't thought of oiling) but they've now taken up residence on my belly as well I was slightly upset but figured it would happen. Just hoping I find something that makes them go away!

Nesting was def alive and well this weekend. Painted the nursery - (have gone for an off white with a bright spring green feature wall if anyone's interested!) and then went on to paint our en suite!!!

As far as names are concerned our top boys names were: Aneurin, Kieran, Dempsey, Rhys and Cai but for girls we were stuck. My favourite was Esme and Dh's was Freya but neither of us really liked the other's choice. I think we may have found a name we love - I happened across it on a MN thread and someone mentioned it was her sisters name. We're thinking on it at the moment but we both really like it so I'm hoping I don't suddenly go off it!

I can't believe I'm 25 weeks already. I keep going between feeling like 15 weeks is either really soon or really far away - anyone else feel that?

YanknCock · 27/04/2009 18:36

Hi all. . .

No new stretchmarks to report, just a few old faded ones I assume are there because I'm so overweight. There is enough flubber on me that I don't think I'll ever have a hard bump!

Workwise, my social worker called my boss and told her I wasn't well enough for a meeting. Boss insisted I put in writing that I don't want the meeting, so I scrawled something on a piece of notebook paper and sent it. Basically they're not going to leave me alone even though I'm signed off. I've had enough. Will put in my resignation very soon, just want to be sure they will have to give me SMP (been posting in employment section and researching loads, so am not too worried about it). Think it will be a load off my mind to know I don't have to deal with it anymore.

And what is going on with my body hair? Plucked a nice long chin hair out, and then discovered an eyebrow hair that was at least an inch long and quite pube-like!

Still waiting for referral to obstetric physio. It has been nearly two months since I saw the GP about it (and got referred to the wrong place first).

Baby is moving/kicking loads, particularly after meals. We like to think my getting thumped hard during a meal is a sign of approval. In that case, he really loves cottage pie.

thoughtforms · 27/04/2009 19:40

scummymummy - re Cook, there's a map on the site - over here - www.cookfood.net/shops

Also - re bras, I've been living in cheap sports bras, which seem to be doing the trick, though I'll soon look for a nursing bra - saw Debenhams are doing some kind of bra measuring and trying on promotion at the moment, and they have some nice looking ones, so I might try to get to them this weekend (hopefully the Croydon one will be doing this promotion). They're getting tight though, so I'm probably going to invest in a couple of bra extenders - I'm pretty sure you can buy them in crafty stores (so probably Debenhams, in that department, or John Lewis)...

fairygirl3 · 27/04/2009 21:08

kitekat-lovely age gap you will have, theres 21months between ds1 & dd,i would of loved the same age gap with ds2 & this bump but dh took a lot of convincing hence the 3 & half year age gap!
NELLY- i looked at that one,its really nice, was going to get it but have gone for the cosatto cabi instead, think it was a bit lighter which as i have to rely on the buses its quite important it folds up small,am going to look for a sling too.
valz-my whole belly is a stretch mark,i blame eating for 10 when i was pregnant first time, was young/stupid,thought could eat as much as i wanted ha ha ,am waiting to see if you can get stretchmarks on stretchmarks this time!
I am huge already & am getting depressed when people say "ooh not long to go" i swing between wanting to shout at them & cry.
babybump i like freya i will put that to dh when he gets in,im trying to wear him down ,hes fed up with all the names i come up with.

kitkatqueen · 27/04/2009 23:54

fairygirl3, Funnily enough I have a 20 month gap between my dd's then 26 mnths between dd2 and ds (no3) then should have 20 mnths between ds's. Have no idea how i managed that pattern, but I am looking forward to it all over again.

Hi All

not been on for a while, we had a big birthday/housewarming party on the weekend and i cooked dinner for 16 adults and about 12 kids, it was a great night but still tired even though i was completly wired all weekend with excitement.

Everyone was commenting on my boobs and clevege saying how they forgot how good my boobs were was wishing i wore a different top, but it was definately aided by my underwire bra so much better shape.

Kitkat- brillant tip about paying yourself for housework, i admit anything at all would make the job more barable, I'm wondering how i will cope with nay more washing when i barely cope now.

Haribosmummy- how good not to be in maternity clothing, i feel i have been in it forever, although i almost have too much after 2 dc's and friends hand me downs.

I think I am in 3rd trimester now, that is very daunting.
everyone else sounds quite organised, i must write a list.

Yank - at your work.

Coming here for a whinge today. I just feel so achey. If I sit for more than about 5 mins in any position then I can hardly move afterwards. I have loads of work to do and it's really slowing me down. ILs coming this weekend and already MIL being a pita. FFS we're at a party from 12-2 and we've told them this - MIL still says "well we thought we'd arrive at 11.30 or just after, will there be someone in?" ( & NO we won't be in...we're going out FGS) Then she still has to ask "Oh so if we arrived then we'd have to entertain ourselves?" Well, duh!. Oh and she also asked "I don't know how H finds the time to do her work. What does she do with Erin while she's doing her crafting?" I was very tempted to shout "I stick her in the garden shed and ignore her" . They also want to go to places where we can "go for long walks" (cos that's gonna happen with an achey pregnant woman and a 2 year old)

Hawkmoth · 28/04/2009 15:35

Crafty, not good with the old aches and pains myself, not too bad though, although I am timing my paracetamol through the day at work, which is never a good sign.

Worst pain so far is at night. I'm waking around the five o'clock mark for the toilet with very full bladder. On emptying, my womb obviously has quite a way to descend... causing awful pulling pains! I can barely stagger back to bed.

Struggling to get over my most recent cold. Sinuses still full of crap (not literally) and feeling dizzy from it.

Uki - agree on the list idea! Also need to formulate removal plan for step-children if it all kicks off while they are here. Would not welcome their evil mother collecting them while I'm in labour!

HeinzSight · 28/04/2009 21:33

Hi all, sorry for my disgustingly long absence I will endeavour to catch up. Hope everyone's well.

HeinzSight · 29/04/2009 11:41

Hi kitkat you lovely thing. Sorry, I'm fine, well baby's fine, I'm falling apart at the seams literally. The terrible hip problems I had during my last pregnancy are back with a vengence. I'm sitting here waiting for a phone call about a physio appointment. I'm wondering how I'll cope with a toddler and crutches (!) 'Fortunately' DH hasn't yet found a job so he's been doing his best to help me as much as he can with a paralysed arm, he's amazing, my hero.

How are you? What's been happening in the Aug thread then, give me a run down Is everyone OK?

Hawkmoth · 29/04/2009 12:06

Oh Heinzsight, I'm sorry to hear about your hip problems.

Hope your DH soon has some luck finding a job. Even though DP has one I'm living in fear that they will change their minds over references or because he's lost all his exam certificates. But he's got some temporary work while his CRB check comes through so it's not all bleak, though I was enjoying coming home to hot meals and a clean house.

Anyone else notice as the bump moves upwards, a saggy bit emerges underneath? I'm sticking with the story that it's never really gone from having DD three years ago...

HeinzSight · 29/04/2009 12:18

Thanks Hawkmoth fingers crossed for your DH's new job x Yes, I know what you mean about saggy bit LOL, I find it particularly attractive when your trousers/skirt cuts into your bump and makes you look, well just fat!

Hawkmoth · 29/04/2009 12:36

My support belt makes it hang over so I can't wear it with any of my current clothes in public!

kitkatqueen · 29/04/2009 13:29

I've got the saggy bit too I've got a fab pair of jeans tho that completely hide it even better they were in the charity shop for £1.50 TAGS STILL ON!!!! [GRIN]

Heinz I really hope your phisio can help!! That is just pants!

There have been a couple of name changes on the thread, craftynclothy I'm losing the plot what was your name b4???? Sarah76 is now Yank. There has been so much happening that I couldn't catch u up if I tried - ran out of omega 3 again and my memory is now shot to bits!

Spk soon - kids want the lap top
