soon2befamilyof4 · 18/04/2009 22:53

Nutty - I love the thread titles. I like the last on ethe best but then there are lots of people not due for quite a while so not sure. Its certainly how most of us are feeling though!

I feel like the baby is so far down now. I am completly waddling this evening and it litterally feels like the head is lower than it possibly could be!!! Feels like it is popping out! LOL.

For all those who think i have a lovely clean house - I wish it was the case! Although I seem to be nesting, it is stupid things that although need doing, they should be bottom of a long list. My house on the whole is a bombsite, but yet the walls and skirting boards etc and now missing half the paint from being scrubbed too much. I don't know why, I just can't get into the day to day tidying and clearing up. There is stuff all over the floor, boxes of stuff to sort out and worst of all...I STILL haven't gone and collected the bloody moses basket yet!!!! It is only at a friend's house, about a 10-15 min drive away! I am due on wed ffs! lol.

Right, off to try and get the kitchen finished - I am fed up with it now but the stuff is outside and don't want it to get damp so got to really .

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 18/04/2009 23:00

Evening Everyone

BB i completely agree, if this happens again im throwing my due date a month down the line! Or just will "forget" to mention to anyone that im pregnant

Have turned off mobile phone i cant take anymore "have you had him yet" "are you still pregnant" texts.. especially the ones from people that have not asked how i am once in the last 9months!

Congratulations brett, Hannah Grace is a beautiful name, will indulge into your birth story in a sec Want pics!!!

Nutty, Schulte and The Clunks - sounds a bit sci fi to me! sure its a good sign though, baby ready for take off

I think us April mums that are still pregnant, especially ones nearing due date or over, must have THE tidiest, cleanest most baby ready houses in the world right now! Not going to put money on how long that will last once LO's are here though!

I feel alot calmer now, its gone my due date so i know for a fact sometime in the next 2 weeks he has to arrive and after 9 months 2weeks isnt that long really, think il manage

Dp took me for a toby carvery earlier, its like 2 minutes down the road from the hospital so i think he'd planned that one lol

now going to read bretts story ...

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 18/04/2009 23:03

soon2be, skirting boards and walls are very important i think pregnancy makes us think irrationally about what NEEDS doing, i scrubbed the kitchen floor, skirting, doors etc then cleared out cupboards which meant i had to redo floor, skirting, doors afterwards oh well, its a lovely feeling of achievement when its done

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 18/04/2009 23:05

Soon2be lol only 12 more days to go till the end of april!!!!! really not long now for all of us

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/04/2009 23:06

Sorry, quick hijack WhatFreshHell - I seem to have managed to miss your birth announcement [head in shed emoticon]. Congrats on the arrival of Felix. Much love to all x

soon2befamilyof4 · 18/04/2009 23:07

There is a hedgehog in our back garden - quite rare for round here. I can't stop laughing at my DH though - he completely crapped himself, wouldn't let me go outside and got our cat in!! He is really freaked out by it!! Bless him. I am right in thinking hedgehogs are really not going to hurt anybody? Lol.

tristaleejac · 18/04/2009 23:15

soon2be that is so funny, your poor DH! Hedgehogs wont do anything they're timid wee beasties!

soon2befamilyof4 · 18/04/2009 23:48

Lol, I thought as much! He is such a wimp with animals. Mainly because he grew up in front of a TV! Lol.

Trista - feel free to text me anytime of day/night with updates and I will report back on here first thing.

soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 00:33

Major vomitting going on here tonight people. Throw up everything in my stomach. Started off when DH made me a cup of tea, I got sudden major heartburn and had to get DH to grab the gavison - although I wonder if it wasn't actually HB as I litterally couldn't move for a good 5-10 mins in pain. I couldn't drink the tea anyway and just opted to have a lie down on the sofa. About 20 mins later I was throwing up in the loo. Wash constant vomiting for what seemed like ages. having a bit of tummy cramp now but just going to go to bed. Kitchen still not 100% finished but will have to wait till tomorrow.

Goodnight - hope some babies arrive tonight!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 19/04/2009 04:47

ANyone else up? I was woken at 4am with what feels like severe period cramps, the kind you can't sleep through - as well as a seriously dodgy tummy... after half an hour on the loo I can't go back to sleep! As today is officially D-Day, who wants to take a punt that this is it???

(although after sooooo many false starts I'm really not keen on getting excited...)

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 19/04/2009 05:24

hmmm.... every nine mins or so... TENS machine is now on...

brettgirl2 · 19/04/2009 08:35

This sounds hopeful kitty! I'm assuming that you may by now be in the throes of it?

Lauren - I felt better too once my due date had actually passed. The problem is that it is a date that has been so important to you for so long then it passes and you realise in fact it's kind of meaningless. I bet it will happen for you really soon now - not that many spontaneous labours for first babies are early! Keep nesting, walking etc - I'm sure it was the ridiculous overactivity last Wednesday that finally brought mine on.

In terms of ickle Hannah - I will try and work out how to set up a profile page later . DH has the photographs, so will need them emailed etc. I really hate technology but I am doing my best

She seems to be doing well feeding generally OK. I got told off in the hospital (by some random MW) for leaving her too long at night though which I am finding hard. So far she has behaved similarly to in utero, ie she is like a hyperactive lunatic in the evening and feeds and feeds but then from about midnight onwards she just wants to sleep. I tried to get her up to feed her in the night just gone twice but she just wasn't interested. It will probably change anyway but BFing a sleeping baby is outside my current ability. I told my mum and she was very what do other people think?

BoffinMum · 19/04/2009 09:08

Brettgirl, I think if she's having loads in the day and not dehydrated then why not try feeding her at midnight and then 6am, and if she refuses then not fretting too much? That way you almost get a normal night's sleep and it's not so ridiculously long she'll starve. Felix went five hours last night and survived.

Kitty, I am waving pom poms as we speak. Especially as you have gone quiet.

soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 09:14

ooohhhh kitty I hope this is it for you. You might be one of the 4% or whatever it is that actually give birth on their due date! Hope you are oushing baby out now, or if not then maybe gettiing some sleep after a bad night.

Brett - My feeling about that is that if it were me then I would probably leave her and be very grateful you have a good sleeper at night! What time will she eventually wake for a feed? ie.how many hours will she go without a feed if you let her sleep? I am not an expert though so don't take my word for it!

My DD is still sleeping! I wish I had gone back to bed now! After sleeping through the night (unless DH got up without me realising) she woke at 8am. I went to get her up but sensed by her cr she was still tired so thought I would give it a try putting her back down so ran down and made her a bottle and gave that to her and she went back to sleep! So have already got lots of bit and bobs sorted before she has got up. Off to hang washing up when its finished then look round a car boot for the morning.

There is a funfair on locally so will probably pop to that this afternooon with DH. Not sure if it will be any good but it's only on this weekend so wanted to give it a try.

Schulte · 19/04/2009 09:43

Brettgirl - huge congratulations! Welcome to little Hannah. I wouldn't worry too much about night time feeds - agree with Boff. One of my NCT friends' boys slept through right from birth and never had a night feed and is now a strong and healthy toddler. Count yourself lucky. Only if she gets jaundice then I'd probably talk to HV or MW.

Go go go Kitty - give us another due date baby

BabyBolat · 19/04/2009 09:54

GO KITTY GO!!! Am charging my phone now as don't want to risk missing out on the action!!! I am shaking everything for you!!!!

Brett I got told off at the hospital too - Kara fed for 1.5 hours then slept non stop and I didn't want to wake him - they will soon wake up when they are hungry - Kara is lasting every 3-4 hours in the night which I am very fortunate with but does have a wide awake moment at around 2 o'clock which I am not loving quite so much as for that hour I am dying while he just wants to play!!!

Soon2be you feeling ok?

soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 09:59

Oh I wish I had gone back to bed now - DD is STILL asleep! I am waiting to go out too! I bet if I had gone back to bed this morning then she wouldn't had slept this long. I am so tired so would have loved to have slept in till 10am!

Not sure why I was throwing up last night. Nothing happened during the night. Although can't face breakfast this morning - typical the one day I have a chance to eat in peace!

surprisenumber3 · 19/04/2009 10:49

Morning.

Congrats Brettgirl - and welcome little Hannah. Glad it all went well for you

Kitty - yay, go!!

I feel a bit down today I know I'm only two days overdue but after going to LW on Wed and them telling me I was in early labour, and having a sweep and then a show and still loads of tightenings, I feel a bit low today. Also, because the DS's are back at school tomorrow and it is so difficult to get them there when I feel this uncomfortable and everyone will be expecting me to have a pram not a bump Everytime I move, walk, even turn over in bed, I feel like I'm having a smear test so the walk to the school up a big hill - ouch!! May try and squeeze behind the steering wheel.
Sorry to moan but just feel a bit today.

Anyway, I hope you are all okay. Going to have a big walk today, baby not moving much at all unless I poke her, although she is getting hiccups a lot!

Will check back to see how Kitty is getting on

soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 10:55

suprise - if baby isn't moving 10 times a day I would go to get monitored. I know its a drag but worth it to make sure all is ok. I know how you feel about the pain when you move - I am waddling big time now!!! More so in the evening.

DD is STILL in bed. Going to get her up now. Just wish I had stayed in bed - could have had a lovely lie in!

Don't worry about moaning - thats what we are here for.

surprisenumber3 · 19/04/2009 10:59

thanks soon2be. I will get monitored if she doesn't move as much today. She is randomly sticking limbs out none of the usual squirming, maybe she is just getting too big now.

Your DD has slept well! Ds2 didn't wake up til 9.40 today which is a miracle!

PuzzleRocks · 19/04/2009 11:23

Surprise - DD was much less active near the end.

soon2befamilyof4 · 19/04/2009 11:23

DD only just got up - 11am! Lol. BUT she is 15 months and doesn't have a nap in the daytime or anything so I think this is her making up for it. Lol. I am not complaining anyway. Off to car boot now, finally!

PuzzleRocks · 19/04/2009 11:26

Have fun soon.

Milk is in with a vengeance. DH keeps asking for a flash of my mega boobs.
