BabyBunnyBolat · 18/04/2009 09:21

oh conker sorry they died down - maybe today's trip will get you back on the right track! (get it - train track - yes I only had 4 hours sleep last night - you can tell!!!!! )

BabyBunnyBolat · 18/04/2009 09:28

Guess I have killed the thread with my bad jokes - am off for breakfast! hmmmm xxx

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 10:06

morning everyone!

just read the new birth stories...AWESOME!
congrats to puzzle and mathsmummy and phdlife and anyone else i've missed!!

so you know how i said they found that i was low on iron while i was at the hospital... well DH went to pick up my Rx yesterday at the med centre and there were TWO for iron. one from FEBRUARY. all this time i was thinking my iron was FINE and obviously it WASN'T and no one could bother their ass to tell me!!!!!!
it's not in my notes even. WTF??
so pharmacist gave DH a hard time because he handed in 2 Rxs for the same thing. like he did it on purpose or something?

gotta say though, i do so love that man. he came home last night with some Moltn Brown stuff. bath gel, cream, pillow scent and pulse point cream. smells DEVINE. so i had a nice long bath, then he creamed me up [get yer minds out of the gutter....that was later!! ). it was heavenly. and i slept well too!

poor DS has picked up some nasty cold. coughing like crazy all night. and we're almost out of our secret stash of canadian cold medicine (the only thing that works) thank god my mom and dad are coming and are bringing more! DH and DS are off to see MIL and no doubt all DH will hear about is how poor DS has such a cough... (which is why i didn't go. i cannot deal with that right now_)

BB - "the right track" lol

Schulte · 18/04/2009 10:28

Hi BB

Quick one before I catch up - no she won't have been able to pass it on to Kara.

soon2befamilyof4 · 18/04/2009 10:29

BB - Don't worry about the chicken pox. Kara should be still pretty imune to it and you can usually only catch it from direct contact. I assume your friend who help him has had chicken pox before? If so then don't worry at all as she won't even be able to carry it.

BabyBunnyBolat · 18/04/2009 10:42

Thanks all x

Purple I wouldn't have gone either - enjoy some time to yourself! how rubbish about your iron!! who was supposed to let you know about it?

tristaleejac · 18/04/2009 10:44

Hi everyone
Great birth stories! I'm so jealous

I've had a crazy 24 hours. MW checked my BP and pee yesterday and they were the same, borderline, so she left me with strict instructions to go into hosp for checks if I was worried about anything. Sure enough, by 7pm it hurt like hell to focus and my head was sore. So I went in to be checked. BP was up and +protein but thankfully bloods were looking better. They did a sneaky sweep before sending me home.

The only thing now, is I'll be checked on monday again by MW, then if labour hasn't started by wed they want me into hosp again overnight to have pessary then they want to break my waters on thursday.
I'm ok with this. I'm just at the point now where I'm just going with the flow and looking forward to meeting the baby.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 10:56

trista - what is it with the BP right now? it's like an epidemic. the hospital was packed the other night, everyone with the same sypmtoms!
that's good about going with the flow. best way to be. you'll be fine!!

BB - with DS the receptionist phoned me to let me know there was a Rx for me, i suspect taht when i kick up a fuss on thursday at my MW appointment they;ll tell me that it's my responsibility to phone to find out the results of my tests.
i'm just annoyed that i could have been feeling a bit better for the last few months, more energy anyway, if i had been on the tablets.

Message to all those mums out there who are obsessed with knowing where all their DC's toys are... DD has lost 8 round stickle bricks! I have looked everywhere and have now concluded they must have gone in the bin. This is bad news because she only ever really played with the round ones Would it be a bit OTT to buy her a whole new box to replace them

Having pointless period pain again but will ignore it and head to the park for a picnic with DD and DH. It helps to see that almost everyone here has symptoms without actually going into labour... must be just the way it is in the last couple of weeks of pg? Funny that the books don't really prepare you for that.

Right, off to prepare said picnic. Have a lovely day everyone!

Schulte · 18/04/2009 11:03

Oh Purple, the iron thing... it IS annoying as they should have gone through all your blood test results with you at the a/n appointments. Usually the line is, as long as we don't phone you everything is fine so you would have thought they would have told you! I was initially told by one GP that everything was fine, then a couple of weeks later a different GP said I urgently needed to take iron. They also lost the results of my booking bloods for several weeks so must say haven't been too impressed with the NHS this time round. Still, at least you're now sorted!

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 18/04/2009 11:43

Aha Schulte I had a big tidy up yesterday and found:

  • a piece of Thomas puzzle
  • a Playmobil pirate oar
  • a Playmobil pirate bandanna
  • a little green alien
  • the Lego knight and his horse
  • AND the green tea cup.

I truly am Alpha mummy....

I'll let you know if I find the round sticklebricks

gingersarah · 18/04/2009 13:24

I have worked out that I could do with being at least in labour by thursady/friday so that I can have my dental work done on 29th (i have to cancel it 5 days in advance if baby isn't here). But other than that, now the easter holidays have past, I don't really mind when baby arrives. Would have loved to have had her in the hols somy 2 sisters and mum were all offf work but that doesn't look like its happening now! I know my younger sister is dissapointed, as she might not be able to come and see baby for a while as when at uni she is 1.5hour drive away and she doesn't have a car! And TBH she is the one who makes the most effort with DD - she was there at her birth and sees her as much as she can. Oh well.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 13:51

nutty - you're so funny. as soon as i started reading your post i thouhgt "something;s up..."
i thought maybe it was just that you only definitely have a few days to go but now i see that it's the possibilty of less than that!

ooooh fingers crossed for you!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 14:00

right. i'm bored.

DS is watching Kung Fu Panda. DH is gone to the football. i can't really do much (pelvis pain and because of BP) and MN seems really dull today. and i'm caught up on all the episodes of Neighbours.

there's a lot of chocolate that needs eating. i was hoping it wouldn't come to that but...

bronze · 18/04/2009 14:33

You know pregnant ladies if your bathroom doesnt need doing digging the garden over works

Schulte · 18/04/2009 14:33

Get stuck into the chocolate

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 15:10

glalxy bar - check
packet of pom bears - check
dry frosties with raisins - check

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 18/04/2009 15:39

i cant believe its my due date and im still babyless! how do i cope now!!! ran around all day on my endless energy supply and EVERYTHING is done, if he doesnt come today or tonight im going to be crawling the walls for the rest of the week!

dp has requested i give birth in asda as you get a years worth free shopping aparently haha! just nipping on to check if anybodys stolen mine and sarahs date you're all welcome to it!

im so frustrated that i havent had the slightest little twinge today, that cant be a good sign surely ...

purplemonkeydishwasher · 18/04/2009 16:00

lauren - you do know the chances of actually giving birth on your due date are very slim? that baby will come out soon sweety. i guarentee it! you'll be snuggling your little baby before you know it!

(i do know what you mean though and am getting pretty impatient myslef and i still have 9 says to go until my due date!!!!)
