I've tried 4 different pumps actually I've got a lovely collection started... Finding it painful to pump also...and getting mixed messages about how much to pump...

I do have a sling..I was just wondering when they want to examine my ample bosoms...

1. Pop her over your knees on her tummy when you are having your boobs looked at, or on your tummy if lying down.

1. Pumps - expensive ones tend to work a bit better IME. See if you can borrow a really good one. Which ones have you tried so far?

1. Pumping - pump 2.5-3oz off and give it to her as a bottle feed next time she demands feeding. Then wait until they fill up again and either feed her yourself or pump again depending on how brave you are feeling. I really think getting yourself comfortable is more important at the moment than any milk supply issues.

1. Try to ignore comments about nipple confusion for now if you get any - as long as she gets some bf and some bottle feeds each day or so, she should be OK on this front. My mw agree with this, btw.

Do you have a sling, Bleu? You could have her in the sling, or as you say just take a blanket to lie her on.

soon2be - I always just had reflexology as it seems to work better for me than massage. I used to sit up on a massage couch though, with the back of it up like a chair, and found an hour was fine although my bum went a bit numb. I never liked those massage tables with holes, my chiropractor used one and I always found it a bit disturbing.

As for call centre people - hang up on 'em! To keep calling is just rude.

Off to Waitrose in a minute, Orbit has emptied the large boob so it's time for a trip out. We have no nappies left and I'm not switching to washables until we've got through the weekend and DS' party....
