MM can't wait for more detail - looks great

Oddeyes - so glad you are doing ok - can't imagine what it must be like with 2!!!

well we just had a lovely little nap - Kara had been fed and is now zonked across my lap like a contented little cat!

yay for physio notes Nutts - poo for pain can't believe its only 5 more sleeps now - what are you going to do for labour now - will DH come with you now you are not having a CS?

I know I waxed lyrical yesterday about my pre-pregnancy jeans but am feeling very flabby and horrid today - I know it's because I am in my joggers slobbing around and need to have a bath etc but still feel horrible and I don't like it! I def can't start exercising yet either as my fanjo still hurts especially if I do too much! when do you start to feel normal again?

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 14:57

Lauren I think that is perfectly normal that was the most frustrating thing ever and believe me I had some horrendous outbursts before (AND after) he was born, there were a lot of tears and a lot of arguments with DH over nothing! You are so close now, just hold out a little bit longer!!!

bronze · 16/04/2009 15:02

Just added a newborn pic onto my profile.

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 15:06

Bronze he really is adorable!!!

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 15:07

How is the rest of the family doing?

bronze · 16/04/2009 15:10

They're fine. DD has finally gone to sleep shes been attention seeking but apart from that everythings normal. So far Isaac is a dream. Good thing really as hes a neglected fourth born.

I'm in my pre preg jeans too but it doesnt mean that I dont still have a swollen wobbly tum too.

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 15:28

already???!!! 5 thought 10 days was good going!!!

Was thinking it must be strange with more than one as I hav nothing to do but be with Kara (and the bathroom of course )

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 15:54

uuurrrgh I am having such a nightmare with mat pay - I have been paid much less than my 90% (prob about 82%) because they are basing it on 4 weeks for April rather than 10% of my monthly salary - any advice as to how i can approach this as I am going to end up losing out on lots of money and it is driving me crazy!!

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 15:58

90% not 10%

chickaleggjac · 16/04/2009 16:08

Hi everyone, I'm still here, baby still hanging on!

Congratulations to all new babies, wow that was an exciting catch up! Well done everyone xxx

Hope you're ok puzzle x

Well last time I was on I was just going to view a flat. It's absolutely beautiful, very spacious and has a massive garden. Entry is mid may and it looks like it's mine, just the paperwork to get sorted I'll not get hopes up til I have the keys in my hand, but it's looking good so far.

It's my due date today! At last. Baby still hanging on though. DP tried a few induction techniques during the night but still no labour. I did have contractions after, but nothing strong enough to get things moving.

Saw MW this morning. Bad news, I'm not on for MLU
Have ++ protein and BP is borderline. It was high but not enough for her to sent me straight to hospital.
She's taken bloods and says if results come back as PE she'll ring me at 9am tomorrow and send me to hosp. If bloods ok she'll visit during the morning to check pee and BP again.
She's also booked me into hosp on Wed for routine check but also to discuss induction as I'm so borderline all the time that she doubts anyone will consider it safe to let me go full 2 weeks over.

I'm ok with this. I'm sick of arguements with docs about MLU, and my body seems to be deciding for me anyway. I just want to be safe now. I wont have magical birth I wanted but at least me and baby will be safe.
I was so close to dying last time because of Eclampsia, that I know I must not take any risks.
Bit depressing, sorry, but that's my story just now. Just trying to remain positive and hope baby gets a shift on and comes out naturally, I really would prefer it to induction.

gingersarah · 16/04/2009 16:14

BB, not sure I understand your post about mat pay - what date do you get paid and what period does it cover? (calendar month? all in arrears or any in advance?)

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/04/2009 17:04

Bronze - lovely picture.

jac - sorry to hear about no MLU. Happy due date! Can I jsut double check - are yu my buddy? Did you name change slightly?

Who is Puzzles buddy? Just wondering how she is getting on. Hope she has her baby now.

Schulte · 16/04/2009 17:39

Trista sorry to hear you won't be able to go to MLU - hopefully you'll still have a good birth experience though and you're right, safety is the most important thing.

BB, how do you manage to sound so relaxed and calm all the time on not much sleep? What's your secret? Go on, share

As for when will you feel normal again... never! LOL

Okay you'll feel much closer to normal after about 6 weeks but I felt I didn't really get my body back until after I stopped bfing.

Bronze, lovely picture of Isaac! And of you wearing your pre-preg jeans a DAY after giving birth! Well done you!

So please tell me I am being completely absolutely mad... I didn't sleep at all last night because I worried myself sick about the following... Friend has a toddler DD's age and a 9 week old baby, who has currently got very mild chicken pox (only 3 tiny spots that are already starting to crust over). We agreed to go to the park with the toddlers, leaving the baby with her dad because I didn't want DD to be around CP. When I arrived at friend's house, DD was asleep in the car so I went inside for a moment to go to the loo, and had a quick look at the baby, and then my friend gave me the baby to hold for a moment so she could put her shoes on. I held her for about 2 mins, then put her down, then got my bag and went back outside to wake DD up and lift her out of her car seat. And THEN it occurred to me that by doing that, I might have transferred the CP virus from baby to DD on my hands / clothes??? What do you think? It would be such a daft thing to do, after keeping her out of nursery for weeks and keeping her away from her friends, for me to pass the virus to her like that??? Tell me I am being paranoid? Please?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 16/04/2009 17:44

BB - give yourself about 6 weeks to start feeling relatively normal evrything should be springing back and settling down by then, it may be a bit earlier but only you can judge that

yep DH is coming in with me now i'm very pleased (and slightly relieved that i wont be alone)!! dd will be in school then MIL will have her till dh phones and asks her to bring dd up when the baby is pretty much here (DD wanted to come with us but i spoke to the labour ward and my MW and they said it may be a bit to scary for her plus waiting time etc, which is fair enough). Got my bloods back and i'm PE free!! thank goodness!

Bronze - ooohhh he's gorgeous, glad evrything is well and that he's being dreamy

Chicka - ooohhh yay for the house!! how exciting oh no so sorry about the borderline PE and no MLU xx hopefully you will be able to avoid induction

Schulte - I have no idea, but want to give you ... i'm sure she'll be fine!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/04/2009 18:00

Schulte - I think newborns are immune to the CP virus for the first few weeks from you and then longer if you are BF? So even if toddler has it - shouldn't pass on to newborn? I had this worry about a week ago with DD - she didn't get it though. If I was any good at finding old threads I would link to mine. It was somewhere in the childrens health section. Everybody reassured me though that it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Schulte · 16/04/2009 18:02

Thanks for reassurance everyone and yay Nutty for no PE! You keep having good news at the moment

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 16/04/2009 18:09

Shulte - ((hugs)) i'm sure it will be fine (sorry i dont have any useful advice) xx

and thanks i know!! i'm so grateful too i dont think i could deal with anymore drama or upset lol

soon2be - yes it's me, your buddy. Hiding in easter name. Just going to change it back actually, seeing as the bunnies have gone

tristaleejac · 16/04/2009 18:19
WhatFreshEggIsThis · 16/04/2009 18:22

Schulte have you had CP? If you have had it then the only way you could possibly transfer the virus is if one of the spots was weeping, and you physically got the fluid from inside it onto your hands, and then wiped it on your DD or put your hands in her mouth.

You can't carry the virus like you would a cold virus unless you've not had it yourself, iyswim.

So it's VERY unlikely that you've passed it on, especially if you say the baby's spots are crusting over. Sending you lots of hugs ()()()()()()

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 19:15

yay nutty!!!!

schultes sure its fine you could always phone mw to be sure and put your mind at rest x

sarah i get paid pcm mid month half in arrears, half advance but as me mat leave started on 01 apr it should be 90% of my apr salary i think - but i have only been paid 82% as its based on 4 weeks not 1 calendar month if that makes sense xx

BabyBunnyBolat · 16/04/2009 19:16

chicka yay for flat xx

surprisenumber3 · 16/04/2009 19:29

hi all
thought I'd update and then go and catch up to see if any more babies have arrived!

went to MW today. She said as the contractions are so continuous but still irregular she would give me a sweep. Then she said my cervix is so high up she couldn't get right in there to do it anyway when she had finished her fingers were covered in blood. Since I've got home I've had loads more stringy/orangey mucous and blood and the baby won't stop moving really vigorously (5 hours now), and is causing my cervix massive discomfort.

anyway, after all that I feel so disheartened as contractions are obviously doing nothing at all as cervix is still so high and still only 1 cm dilated....I really am going to be pregnant forever

Right, off for a good old catch up!

soon2befamilyof4 · 16/04/2009 20:13

Surprise - I am not sure if I am right but my gut feeling reading that is that the blood etc probably means that the sweep at least did something and hopefully things will start speeding up? Try and get some rest - I know thats easier said than done.
