surprise - i'll tell you what's not normal...all the cleaning you are doing! stop it!!you[re making me look bad!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 15/04/2009 12:42

bicnod - if you are only 38wks i'm not sure why they are worrying. and i was induced with ds and it really wasn't that bad. though i can understand why you'd rather go naturally.
fingers crossed that everything works out ok.

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 12:44

bicnod - dont worry just try to stay active and maybe get a gym ball to bounce on if you dont have one already, im convinced thats what has got ollie into position, at least they know in plenty of time and can monitor you closely to see what baby's doing

double post i never clicked twice !!

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 12:45

hi purplemonkey - thanks so you don't think i should start worrying yet? i think the GP just freaked me out a bit talking about the possibility of my pelvis being too small... but maybe baby is just taking his/her time. fingers crossed he/she will engage by next week... any tips for getting that head down?!

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 12:46

hi lauren - i have a gym ball... have been doing a bit of bouncing but will do even more

Schulte · 15/04/2009 12:48

Lovely, DD setting up her tea set The sun is out too so we'll go for a waddle I think. Biggest problem at the moment is that I have to be near a loo most of the time because baby is sitting on my bladder, so the park is a bit difficult.

Totally agree, the last couple of weeks are hard work. One of the things that's getting to me is how much I've got to eat again - have double portions of everything and am still hungry in between. Anyone else got this problem???

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 12:48

if you bounce with legs as wide as you can its supposed to put baby in right position so fingers crossed for you bicnod

quite therapeautic too =] boing along =]

Schulte · 15/04/2009 12:50

Hee hee

DD just found the chocolate bunnies that she'd put in her play oven on Sunday - cue a very pleased exclamation of 'oh, bunny rabbits!'

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 12:51

thanks lauren - DH has been complaining about me bouncing while watching TV but can now say it is essential and he'll just have to put up with it

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 12:55

schulte i ate twice as much mashed potato than dp with tea last night and hes got a big appetite so not just you, we're growing babies we can eat as much as we want

did you know we are legally allowed to do a wee in public, like down a jitty or something haha, police cant arrest us for it =] so you could go to the park schulte but might not be best example for your dd!!

brightening up a bit here, been murky all day so far!

nutty - i just watched one from an old series where the blonde bimbo girl walks out after first shoot, i love the bitchyness and americaness of it all!! cant wait for BNTM to start!!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 13:07

bicnod - my dp is the opposite, when i was having contractions the other night i went on the ball for a bit as its comfortable and dp decided it would be useful to sit there going "thats it babe ride that ball, thats how we got in this predicament"

il kill him when its established labour. i really will

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 13:21

haha boys are so annoying... i was on the ball last night and sort of rotating my hips around to ease a bit of lower backache and DH suggested not doing that in front of anyone else as it looked sordid!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 13:36

yet we still have their babies!! ooh itv news going to talk about homebirth vs hospital birth!!

BoffinMum · 15/04/2009 13:38

Lauren, did you know policemen are also legally obliged to permit a pregnant woman to wee in their helmets on demand???

That's probably why you don't see bobbies on the beat any more these days.

surprisenumber3 · 15/04/2009 13:42

purple - I was only tidying as I have friends round in a min once I started I realised how much it needed doing and couldn't stop til it was done!

Boff - I heard that too, although my policeman friend was a bit about it!! Made me not feel bad when I went into disabled toilet yesterday when ladies loo had a massive queue though!

Regarding the birthing ball, my MW gave me one when I was in labour with DS2. I was in agony but she assured me it would help the cervix dilated quicker. As soon as she left the room DH started making a hissing sound and said it was deflating - cue me jumping off and laughing and crying and rolling around the bed - he knows better this time!!

LaurenIsMoreThanReadyToPop61 · 15/04/2009 13:42

i know my dads a sargeant though its not something i've took advantage of ... yet =p

surprisenumber3 · 15/04/2009 13:43

Bic - I didn't engage with DS2 til in labour, they actually think he was head up until quite late and they advised crawling around on all fours! My floors got mopped by hand that week!

surprisenumber3 · 15/04/2009 13:44

oh and schulte - I am eating far far too much, just started about a week ago really. And once I get it in my head that I fancy something, I just have to have it - can't talk myself out of it at all!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 15/04/2009 13:58

Bicnod- hopefully your LO will engage for you soon there's still a week or so to go xx >

Lauren - LOL at your DP

Schulte - I'm going mad for ice cream i could eat tonnes of the stuff (and i do!! i'm going to be a blooming hippo post birth!!) Bless your DD

Boff - oooooohhhhhh i would so love to ask a bobby if icould pee on his helmet golden shower indeed

BRONZE UPDATE - going nowhere fast, fully dilated but the contractions have completely stopped

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 15/04/2009 13:59

Bicnod, my first baby didn't engage at all until she was coming out. Normal birth.

Only the last one really engaged - quite violently, as it happens. Normal birth again.

This is back to front from what is supposed to happen, apparently.

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 14:00

boys and birthing balls clearly don't mix

right - i'm going to stop feeling sorry for myself now and go and do some gardening (lots of squatting and crawling around on all fours) then i'm going to spend the entire evening bouncing...

this baby WILL engage. rah.

BoffinMum · 15/04/2009 14:00

I am not well, people. Currently waiting for mw. My bits and tummy are sore and I have a temperature. I hope I haven't got an infection ...

Bicnod · 15/04/2009 14:01

thanks nutty and boffinmum - feeling much less glum now
