Frekkles I would say that is probably enough for day-to-day costs but I would try and put something buy for unexpected costs too - are you getting mat pay too - maybe put that in a savings account if so!

brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 09:58

I don't think anything is normal frekkles in terms of money.

Remember that you will get child benefit. Are you getting any maternity pay?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 09:59

Frekkles - dont forget to claim working family/child tax credit and child benefit once bambino is here, it's not much but it will be a bit extra

Congratulations to MathsMummy!!! Lovely lovely name!!!

Good luck today Nutty. But in the meantime ARE YOU TAKING YOUR MEDS REGULARLY?????

BB, yes a little umbilical bleeding is normal. Felix has this at the moment as well.

Frekkles, it doesn't matter how much you have coming in, invariably you always have more going out when you have a young family. It's sod's law. But we do the spreadsheet thing like BB and have a second current account for all the direct debits, so we never have to worry about whether the utilities are being paid and so on. DH has been appointed family accountant of Boffin PLC, as when we both did it (I am very good with money in my own right) it used to go horribly wrong from time to time - too many chiefs! I am now in charge of procurement and that works well.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 10:12

Boffin - thanks , yep, i have even been doing the 8am doses (i have been very good!!) nothing seems to be working anymore even the morph just takes the edge off now rather than killing the pain. Dh even said he isnt suprised though, he had a look at my back and it's really swollen and bruised, as is the left side of my pelvis/hip area, left foot is purple or blue most of the time. even with dh massaging it to get the circulation back. i'm a puffy purple mess lol

Congratulations MM

Kalikaroo · 14/04/2009 10:21

Good morning everyone . Congratulations mathsmummy! Lovely name!

Top story of the day - Yup, you've guessed it - STILL NO BABY!!! Arrggggghhhh!!!!!!!

I'm now 41+4 and losing the will to live....

Have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow to have a scan to check everything's ok. I'm thinking of begging them for an induction, but they don't do them unless they have to here (never thought I'd say that I actually WANT an induction! )

Bubs has also been very quiet this morning, which I'm keeping an eye on. Should my bump be getting bigger at this stage? Reason I ask is that it seems to have stopped growing.

I WANT THIS BABY OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, rant over.

Hop you're all fine and good luck today Juw!

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 10:25

Nutty - is this all new? the purple puffiness? Am worried as it sounds like this may cause some permanent damage - is there nothing else they can do for you????!!!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 10:26

Kali - ((hugs)) your bump should stay round about he same now as all the growing and development is pretty much done it won't be long for you now!! quiet bump is a good sign in a way too you may be gearing up to actually have this baby!!!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 10:32

BB - i have been getting steadily more bruised, puffy and in pain over the last 2 weeks (maybe more i dont really know, havent looked in the mirror too much), they wont do anything now they will just wait till the baby comes and repair me i guess (this has been their mantra all along so i doubt they will do an about turn now) though i'm hoping that it will strengthen my case and make them give me an induction date today just from looking at me.

soon2befamilyof4 · 14/04/2009 10:35

PUzzle - I am in the same situation as you. Due same day, hope for birthing centre birth (saame rules as a homebirth here). Last time I had a hospital birth instead of planned home water birth because my waters broke too early. I have been having TINY leaks for the last couple of days. The only person I have told in RL is DH! I am not an expert at all but from what I have read, if it is small leaks, it is your hind waters which can re-seal themselves. Haven't had anything today so hoping that is what has happened. I have a breif appointment with MW today from another hospital just to get my heath in pregnancy form filled in and I might mention it to her. She is very pro-home birth so will give me an honest opinion really. She did everything she could to push for my home birth last time, but sadly it wasn't meant to be!

bronze · 14/04/2009 10:50

Well its definitely the time for layign anyway. 4 of my quail have all decided to start laying again today so I think its an good omen for you lot.

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 11:12

I am SOOO uncomfortable today. Hoping it is a sign baby is nearly here but I know that is wishful thinking considering I am not due for another week or so. Although my original dates I would be due already. Spent half of last night trying to get comfy and in pain iwth my back. The worst night so far comfort wise. Annnoying as DD had a goodish night - woke once or twice for milk but I gave her the milk and she went straight down.

AuldAlliance · 14/04/2009 12:40

morning everyone, well not morning but ive just got up after worst night in ages that contraction master was reallly good, DP is very grateful for having something to do bless him, by 2 o clok this morning they were 3minutes apart lasting 45-50seconds and i was so tired and fed up because they werent getting worse just kept coming and coming so i rang labour ward and started crying down the phone so she said to go in as the adrenalin will slow it down if it wasnt established labour, which i didnt think it was as i wasnt in enough pain IYSWIM.. it was just bloody annoying as i was so nackered!! so went to hospital and as MW had predicted it all slowed down, had BP took and baby HB checked but she wouldnt assess me incase it interfered with "the natural way" but she said with first babies labour can stop and start a few times before it really gets going as the cervix has more work to do.. soo not a happy bunny over here and dp has gone to work on about 3 hours sleep tummy VERY tight today, lots of movement though so im not worried, just peed off!! thank you for everyones concern and help last night

will read through now and try to catch up

ps...think pressure washing and sex were big cause for contractions y/day !!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 12:43
