Oooh, GO JU GO.

brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 08:48

That's brilliant news Juwes - hopefully if you were already on your way then it should go fairly smoothly.

brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 08:49

Nutty - good luck today. Got fingers crossed for you too!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 08:55

Thanks Guys i'm not holding out too much hope (just in case), my consultant & hospital do a good line in denial where i'm concerned but we shall see if they agree to an induction i will be over the moon!!! fingers crossed as i'm 38 weeks now they cant put too many blockers up my MW was confident they would say yes though so the signs are good.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/04/2009 08:59

yay juw! good luck today!

so remember that feeding things that my cousin sent me (covers up your boobs while you nurse...totally unnecessary thing from north america) welll....my mom sent me one as well. so now i have TWO useless and expensive hooter hiders. at least the one my mom sent is black and white, not hot pink.

i told mom that i had gotten one already so she said i should just sell the one she's sending. so....anyone want one of these??

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 14/04/2009 09:03

Congratulations MathsMummy! Also good luck Juwesmum, thinking of you and shaking pom poms!

KazKiss am very impressed with the twins' weight gain, hooray!

Midwife came on Sunday to discharge us, and muttered for a bit because Orbit hasn't regained his birth weight yet - he's 10lbs exactly which is pretty good considering he dropped nearly the whole allowed 10% before leaving hospital. She has discharged us but she said the HV will probably mutter about it...oh goody. It's the same HV as last time who muttered a LOT about DS1's weight when we started weaning (she wasn't keen on BLW and thought we were starving DS1 ) so I'm looking forward to some interesting conversations in the future.

Am also booking Orbit in with a cranial osteopath this week, as he's very windy and throws up a lot, and it might be that being stuck for ages compressed some nerves in his head that go to his digestive system. Worth a try!

Thought I'd share the fact that Orbit pood on me this morning....it was bound to happen sooner or later, so now the changing mat cover, my t-shirt and various other bits are all in the wash trying to remove bright yellow stains. Nice.

Off to get DS1's feet measured at Cribbs Causeway this morning, so really should get dressed......

brettgirl2 · 14/04/2009 09:03

I don't see what the problem is purple, you've now got a spare for when the other is in the wash .

They are just so American, it's brilliant.

conkertree · 14/04/2009 09:08

yay congratulations mathsmummy - lovely name.

nutty - really hope they agree to an induction and agree with whoever said you are the least moany of us all - you have so much to complain about and keep us all cheerful instead, so moan away if you feel like it .

feel like today is a good day for babies - mine would be great but would settle for a few on the thread instead.

great progress Juw - [shakes pom poms to encourage contractions]

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 09:15

WFH - oohhhh you brave lady good luck at cribs !!

Purple - luck you!! you love them really dont you!!

Morning Conker

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:18

Nutty I moan about OJ on the carpet (I also spilt DH's black tea all over the carpet too this morning grrr) so really love feel free to moan about your crippling pain all you like!! I have everything crossed for you!!

Puzzle hopefully it will be the start of something, mine really went the next day and the contractions started shortly after (if you don't get too much today I wouldn't mention it until your waters actually fully go as they only induced me because I 'started' leaking 3 days before!

Quick question - anyone got any tips for baby hiccups - Kara really suffers with them awake and asleep!

Springy yes he has an afternoon nap - he pretty much feeds and sleeps every 3-4 hours with a couple of hours a day when he is wide awake - This is not something I have tried to do he just does whatever suits him and he likes routine I think! Sunday really broke that routine though so he is all out of kilts - he is almost back to it but yesterday was a bit of a grizzly day - he went down again about 8 so he should wake up about 11 ish for another feed.

Go Ju - although I say that, knowing what contractions (or at least half contractions) are like I wouldn't wish that on anyone!!! but go for baby coming!! How is DH doing?

Schulte · 14/04/2009 09:19

Congratulations MM! Hope things go well with Amelia.

Juw sounds like you're on your way, hurrah!

Nothing to report from the Schulte household except a whole load of pointless mild contractions every few minutes from about 10pm to 1am. Oh and we're getting a new garden fence today although the builder hasn't turned up yet

BB surely you're not seriously thinking about painting your bathroom???

Schulte · 14/04/2009 09:22

Oh forgot to say - Purple sorry to hear DS is sick, hope he gets better quickly. And Nutty, fingers crossed for induction!

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:24

OK how did I miss MM's baby??? Congratulations lovely - although what are you going to do with yourself now there is no cervix searching to do??!!!

No, the bathroom is painted, but where we were tiling we knocked the walls and ceiling a bit so they need to be touched up - should only take 40 minutes and it would be one less job for DH to do when he gets home tonight!

I hate MW visits as you just have to wait around for them to come - could be anywhen - and you can't really call them and ask them when exactly they are planning to turn up!!!

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:24

Schultes, yay for the fence!

Schulte · 14/04/2009 09:26

Yes but BB you should be lying on the sofa anyway not running around town so in theory it doesn't matter when your MW turns up? By the way are they as bad as you feared? I hope not!

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:31

My peads at the hospital are lovely - the MW that comes round is nice but not particularly warming but the general staff at the MW centre are AWFUL! All being well we will be discharged today from them and then have my first HV visit next week.

Another quick questions - Kara's belly button fell off last week and his belly button is bleeding ever so slightly (a little bit on the nappy a couple of times a day) - only a tiny bit - is that normal???

frekkles · 14/04/2009 09:31

morning lasses! hows it all going? i spy another baby, woo hoo maths mummy that's a lovely name . i'm not sure anything is ever going to happen with me!

today's question is about finances. Do you guys mind if i'm nosey? How much money a month do you have coming in? and how do you budget? How much for food? how much for rent and bills and such?

((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) to all pre and post natal x

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 09:36

BB - thats fab that Karra is in his own little routine already they do seem to find their own rythm quite quickly i dont think there's much you can do for hiccups i'm afraid (maybe someone else will know) i do love baby hiccups though sooooooo cute

Schulte - hooray for the fence

OP posts:
NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 09:40

BB - it may be rubbing on the nappy a bit, but yep its normal, get the MW to have a little look though just to be on the safe side

Frekkles - Morning!! i'm rubbish at budgeting i'm afraid, i just pay the bills each month and then work out whats left over and split that over 4 weeks

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 14/04/2009 09:45

can someone go to costa and get me a decaf latte and a cherry and almond muffin? there's a love thanks.

BoffinMum · 14/04/2009 09:50

Puzzle, 8 days early is fine for a HB.
Perhaps don't be 'sure' it's your waters until this evening and therefore neglect to ring mw? Some hospital trusts say 24 hour window for delivery, more say 48 hours and some are fine with 96 if it's monitored carefully. 94% of people deliver within 48 hours (I was 44 hours). Keep taking your temperature though and be very clean down there.

BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:50

Thanks Nutts,It doesn't look angry at all just like watery blood

Frekkles, I have a monthly excel budget that I fill in at the start of every month for bills (mortgage, council tax, water, electric, gas, Car breakdown cover, phone bills etc etc) and then whatever is left we have for food, going out (like that ever happens at the moment!) - we are still paying off a ridiculous wedding bill so we live off of my salary and pay off the credit card / send money to DH's family with his wages - we also take things like new bathroom suites / holidays / unexpected car parts out of his wages too. It all sounds like a good plan but there is still never enough money left at the end of each month and we never pay off as much of the wedding as we had planned

Puzzle meant to say actually I think you should rest today - try not to do too much - ripping up the floor really made my waters go so maybe sit on the sofa and watch trashy TV!!!

frekkles · 14/04/2009 09:53

john earns 17 hundred a month... that's ample for us both isn't it? bills rent and debts are coming in at £1300. is this normal?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 14/04/2009 09:53

Purple - oooooohhhh i would love a hazlenut latte!! mmmmmmmm

OP posts:
BabyBunnyBolat · 14/04/2009 09:54

Oh and whoever is at Costa, I would love a skinny hot chocolate with some yummy carrot cake!

Hey Boff - how you doing? How is felix?

Yeah Puzzle I would definitely not mention anything until you are 100% sure that they are gone (it may take a while for you to be sure - maybe until your contractions start!!!) My hospital said 24 hours but in the end it was 76+ before I was induced!
