I wonder whether mine can be found by prodding my nipples....hmmmm

I might wait until the Apprentice though, nothing like flashing your nips at Sralan

surprisenumber3 · 08/04/2009 20:59

puzzle. My DH kept asking when the baby was due to let his work know but I was so mad that he didn't know that I wouldn't tell him, DS1 told him in the end!! Hope you get sorted tomorrow x lol re cinema (sorry), glad DS enjoyed it though!

right, going to the bathroom sink to look for contractions and maybe water leakage (who was it whose waters trickled while using electric toothbrush??!!)

mathshoneybunny27 · 08/04/2009 21:01

mine but it was just wee!!! damn bladder

purplemonkeydishwasher · 08/04/2009 21:02

it's for his paternity apparently. they are being dicks about it. his boss has a baby a couple weeks ago and just showed up with the birth certificate. they gave him hell for that so DH thought he'd go in early, now they are giving him a hard time as well. for what? a lousy £100 a wekk or whatever it is??
wankers.

chickaleggjac · 08/04/2009 21:02

actually I did try the acupressure point in my hand.....wonder if that's how I found them.
Anyway wont start watching out for them yet in case they wander off again

surprisenumber3 · 08/04/2009 21:02

oh! won't be trying that one then I have to be VERY careful with sneezing at the moment - damn the hayfever season!

chickaleggjac · 08/04/2009 21:03

I'd love to be watching apprentice, but mum's watching some pish on another channel. Does anyone know if it's repeated?

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 21:08

Hi ya. Been out all day - have any babies been born?

38 week check today - baby still not engaged.

The midwife didn't speak very well english and I am a bit worried that I will have him deliver my baby. I know it sounds stupid, but I really had to concentrate on what he was saying and he was having to talk very slowly and concentrate on his English. I know I probably sound horrible. It doesn't bother me at all that he is dutch, I am not being rasist - I just don't want to not be able to understand him when I am in labour! Is that really selfish? He was really nice and very good at his job - really checked everything the trainee midwife did and was really helping her, was in no hurry and was lovely really.

I am loving going to the birthing cantre now for my appointments. They are all so friendly, never overworked from what I can see, and not rushing around like they are on labour ward. Really hoping I get to deliver there.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 08/04/2009 21:09

Chicka - try bbc iPlayer from tomorrow...

LaurenTheFertilisedEasterEgg61 · 08/04/2009 21:10

hi everyone, started reading through thread from where i left off this morning but theres just soooooo much, chatterboxs!! any more babies ive missed??

had cuscoe at hospital because of that leakage and they said it could have been a leak from hind waters which seals itself so no progress made grr

baby verrry active tonight, i dont think he understands hes supposed to come out down there he'd rather try and smash his way out of my belly button.

i feel like craap now... i got hospital bags ready on bed for DP to grab just in case.. and had to walk out past lots of people and their lovely newborn babies, not a happy bunny tonight

LaurenTheFertilisedEasterEgg61 · 08/04/2009 21:12

soontobe - the first words your baby will hear is 'poooosh pooooosh, zats right and more poooooshhh'

is that dutch sounding ....? lol=p

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 21:15

Lol. As long as I can understand what I am being told then i don't mind!

bronze · 08/04/2009 21:51

Just got round to putting a waterproof sheet on my bed. Never needed one before so I feel like I won't this time but have done it in case.

chickaleggjac · 08/04/2009 22:02

Ha ha! Managed to watch it live on BBC iplayer, nice one.
Contractions have gone walkabout again. Not even going to go searching this time, they'll come back at some point in this lifetime

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 22:18

at Puzzle's haunting / haunted cervix

purple, your DS sounds so cute. My little sister was a bit like that with noises - we went to a fireworks display when she was about 15 months old & had to leave after about 4 bangs because she couldn't deal with the sound.

Your DH is being rather infuriating - well done for not totally exploding xx

I've just had my first pelvic floor failure. I came so far as well. Gutted.

soon2be, it's not selfish to want to be able to understand your MW during labour! It's a stressful enough time as it is, the last thing you want to do is be having communication difficulties / Goldmember flashbacks

soon2befamilyof4 · 08/04/2009 22:27

Can I ask what everybody's childcare plans are for their other children when they go into labour? I am trying to stop worrying about the date this baby will come as TBH I don't even feel 100% ready for it - yet I am trying to encourage labour as I am panicking about lack of childcare. I have more than enough childcare till 20th but after that I just can't work out a plan! MIL is around in the day but she is a last resort and is awful with DD and can't be trusted but will defiantly be offended if there is nobody else around and she is still not called when we are having problems finding somebody. At this rate - DH won't be there at the birth and he really wants to be.

bronze · 08/04/2009 23:50

depends when it happens. I've always laboured at night before so to start with a neighbour will come round til mil or fil comes over. I have to go straight in at the first sign.
If its during the day then offload onto various neighbours unless they're back at school/playgroup by then. Think we're just going to wing it really

mathshoneybunny27 · 09/04/2009 07:24

the only difficult time for childcare will be tonight..wonder when I'll have her then?!

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 08:10

Good morning. Boy am I looking forward to a four day weekend.

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 08:13

Congrats Nutty, we are all term now.

LaurenTheFertilisedEasterEgg61 · 09/04/2009 08:14

morning puzzle im shocked at how crap, crap weather makes you feel...

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 08:16

It's looking a bit miserable here. It was gorgeous yesterday.
How are you this morning?

LaurenTheFertilisedEasterEgg61 · 09/04/2009 08:20

its been really nice lately, bit of a downer waking up to drizzle and dullness !!

im good just feel really pessimistic about everything which is silly cos everythings going to plan, i think im just fed up of waiting.. i know we all are just having a downer day i think, watching portland babies on home and health, epidural looks awwwwful, thank god it goes in your back where you cant see it!!

Have you named your LO yet puzzle??

PuzzleRocks · 09/04/2009 08:25

We picked names when I was about 8 weeks gone. She will be Holly Elizabeth.
How about you?

JuwEggsm · 09/04/2009 08:25

Morning ladies = grey day here too.

So in 5 weeks, max, all the babies should be here! Yay!

Although I've become convinced that my distinct lack of any signs of labour is because I am not pregnant! It is all just an extremely well-crafted phantom pregnancy, and I will be like this forever with no baby ever coming out!

I think perhaps my next technique will be to take a long drive to somewhere in the middle of nowhere, preferably via a congested motorway, to try and bring down the laws of Sod and Murphy on my head.
