Mucus plug question - I have had NO discharge this pregnancy at all, until five mins ago when a blob came out... probably the size of a 20p coin, like really stringy egg white... no blood though... shall I get excited??

BabyBunnyBolat · 08/04/2009 19:22

Ok quick catch up before my friend comes round tonight - I no longer have a bathroom in my garden (complete with walls!) YAY! DH is going to sand and paint the walls tomorrow and then it is just the tiling to go and we will hopefully be pretty much there - cannot wait to soak in an actual finished bathroom (not one that I can't move in the bath for fear of spilling water down the sides!!)

I haven't read the article but will do it tomorrow morning.

Biggest news of the day and apologies for TMI but did my first poo post labour today and honestly felt so bizarre! It hurt and there was a lot of bleeding (ouch) but all has calmed down now am hoping they get easier from now on.

Springy I had that feeling towards the end - can't remember how many days before but just felt very dry and awkward up there.

I really feel for you all with the symptoms and no labour yet - I remember how frustrated I was and trying to spot any differences, in the end it happened when I had resigned myself to the fact that I would have to have an induction and wait another 10 days so completely stopped thinking about it (in a 3-year old tantrum kind of way, not a grown up dealing with it way!!!)

BabyBunnyBolat · 08/04/2009 19:25

Kitty, you are 9 months pregnant - you can get excited about anything like that!

Springy, think that is sensible my hospital said to me any chnage in colour (especially green, yellow, brown, or pink / red) to give them a call just to check it out!

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 19:27

Did the pooing feel strange, BB? Like on the way down? I wonder because of how MM said that she could feel poo waiting to come out when she was feeling her cervix, so I'm curious as to how connected it all feels afterwards? & the pain - was it a perineal pain, or a bum pain? [far too nosy emoticon]

Yay for the bathroom being so close to completion - that's some speedy work! Especially considering that you've had a baby in that time & things are all a bit hectic around there.

& haha, I totally get the 3 year old tantrum thing. I stomped off back to bed earlier because our new pushchair arrived & I had no baby to put in it & OH NO, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND etc

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 08/04/2009 19:33

Ginger - yay for your MW and getting a refferal!!

Suprise - Chocolate is the way to go !!

MM - oh no!

Springy - Day Glo discharge needs to be checked out !!

Kitty - oooooohhh mucus!! go you!!

BB - yay for bathroom nearly being finishes, oooohhh yeah post labour poos, very strange feeling indeed.

BabyBunnyBolat · 08/04/2009 19:35

Yes Springy really strange, I have felt it building up for the past 24 hours and just felt like a plug then felt very similar to the final pushing part of labour (FYI that final stage felt exactly like trying to push out poo when you are constipated!) and with this poo I felt everything - the coming down and out etc! They are very similar but in a constipated poo way rather than an upset tummy way!

oooh I forgot that I didn't poo when I gave birth - that was one of the first things I asked after I had been all sorted out! [very pleased emoticon]

PuzzleRocks · 08/04/2009 19:37

Springy - I can't concentrate on anything either. I keep drifting off into space.

Had my 38 wk appt today and the m/w sniffed my belly and said it smelled lovely.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 08/04/2009 19:45

BB - yay for poo free birth

Puzzle - LOL at your belly smiffing MW nice that you have a yummy smelling tum though

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 20:04

Kitty, this is the only time in your life that you'll be allowed to celebrate mucus / vaginal discharge, so just go for it

Nutty, it's not Day Glo. It's not glowing - I'm not somehow radioactive It's just that colour. The dull sort of colour before the glowstick's activated.

BB, that's really interesting... I'm so excited about these things, too. Probably not as much as the baby, but I am curious.

Puzzle, sorry to burst your bubble but she probably says that to all the pregnant ladies - don't invest too much emotion in her interest, or you could end up broken-hearted

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 08/04/2009 20:09

Springy ROFL you sure???? still yellow discharge dose need to be checked sweety xx

i have seen a fair few glowsticks in my time and they still look pretty dayglow pre snapping

chickaleggjac · 08/04/2009 20:21

Hey guys I'm back
Huge big Woohoo!!!
Turns out it was only hind waters, so they don't worry about that. They were really nice (phew) and are letting me get on with it and I'm still set for a birth at MLU. The MW I saw was the one I spoke to on the phone, and was a whole different person in the flesh. Very kind and full of lovelyness.
Only thing is when I got home I went straight for a nap, was exhausted. I have woken up to find contractions have gone!

has anyone seen them? please send them back!
Hope they do come back, although it's not the end of the world. At least I'm still on for lovely birth!
Thanks again for your support earlier, MW commented on how relaxed I was and I think it's down to having fanjo warriors thinking of me! ((hugs))

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 08/04/2009 20:27

Chicka - Wooohoooo for your hind waters!! > yay for nice MW's!!!

OP posts:
bronze · 08/04/2009 20:33

yay trista
get walking up and down your stairs

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 20:35

Fine, okay - it's like the colour of glowsticks pre-snapping WITHOUT the glowing

That's really good news, Trist & hindwaters is still exciting progress - the contractions will be back soon, so make sure you rest!

PuzzleRocks · 08/04/2009 20:36

Whatever Springy -can't- -pull- -in- -a- -highly- -inappropriate- -medical- -situation- -to- -save- -her- -life- Sponge, just you wait until I go for my six week check up, I bet my cervix gets showered with compliments.

Aah the days of glowsticks and Vicks.

PuzzleRocks · 08/04/2009 20:38

Trista - Whack on some music and dance.

bronze · 08/04/2009 20:39

DOt hey check your cervix at the six week check. Never had mine checked then

mathshoneybunny27 · 08/04/2009 20:40

NOOOOOOOOOO contractions here.

Baby engaged, 2-3 measly cm and 50% effaced. I have spent the afternoon on a see-saw

Finally, though, able to eat a little something without throwing up, so I am a

surprisenumber3 · 08/04/2009 20:40

never had mine checked either, in fact all they did was check BP and ask if I was okay.

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 20:41

Well MM's cervix did get called 'lovely & soft' by her MW... Maybe it is just me who can't pull

mathshoneybunny27 · 08/04/2009 20:42

[smug cervix emoticon]

SpringySponge · 08/04/2009 20:42

I think I just summoned MM with the thought of her cervix. I'm impressed with myself.

Glad you can eat, MM xx

surprisenumber3 · 08/04/2009 20:42

hey chicka, glad everything is still on track for the MLU. Does the hindwaters going mean an imminent labour? Hope so, although obviously I'm jealous

MM - a seesaw? LOL.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 08/04/2009 20:42

uh oh i feel a cervix war breaking out

OP posts:
bronze · 08/04/2009 20:43
