Oh BB, he is most likely fast asleep and peaceful.
I remember being surprised just how little some things I once held dear mattered to me after she came along. Do try and relax and enjoy the pampering though. You deserve it. If he is awake he's is probably having some lovely father son time.

I'm off for a soak in the bath. DD will no doubt want to add her octopus, fish, penguin etc etc. Seriously BB, enjoy your me time.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 11/04/2009 15:48

BB - oh ((hugs)) xx try and enjoy your pampering, you will be home soon xxx

Puzzle - enjoy your bath!! xx

I agree with Puzzle for the next thread title. Because I will never get Fanjo Warriors Form Birthing Battle Formation.

BB, well observed, I don't get upset about much in life, but I do get intensely distressed about the kids and childcare sometimes, when I think they are not being properly looked after or taught. I suppose it's natural.

We're going to suggest keeping AP on until the end of my 6-week recovery period, to help with housework and getting the boys up and ready for bed, with me probably doing the school run and the other more important stuff. Also this will save DS2 having a nervous breakdown at the same time as acquiring a new sibling and starting a new school, because he really loves the AP. But it will have to be on the strict understanding she communicates any changes of plan in advance and doesn't just go off on one, and also minimising the time she spends with them without me there. However she has already resigned, so might not want to stay so long, as apparently she has totally lost confidence now and also apparently I am very scary.

Then I am going to have a break from bringing up other people's overgrown toddlers and paying for the privilege, and in September we are going to get a proper nanny who will keep us sane, hopefully. I have nothing against looking after my own kids, but I think it would be such a waste getting a PhD in Education and publishing all this stuff and then just fizzling out as I start to get going, like so many women do. I reckon I could really do some good here, and I don't see why it should be mutually exclusive with bringing up a family.

Anyway, if anyone knows someone lovely who fancies being our nanny, I am all ears. And if anyone knows how to do the HR side of it properly, I am all ears for that as well.

BoffinMum · 11/04/2009 17:27

I hope Springy comes on soon because I am desperate to see some pix.

BTW if anyone wants half a pack of raspberry leaf tea and a few maternity tights just say and I will post them out after Easter.

bronze · 11/04/2009 17:27

I liked the formation one too

This time I actually like a combo of two

Orbit has a real name and Springy has sprung

Think it might be better than publishing Springys choice of name on the topics list without her here

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 17:35

--Hijack

Big labour pom poms to Rachel from all the washable napy heads!!

Maybe......?

end hijack, as you were

bronze · 11/04/2009 17:36

Do you know anymore than us td?

treedelivery · 11/04/2009 17:48

Nah sorry - but there are rumours and good vibes about! poor woman is probably having a nice day out.

And not at her local delivery suite. We are just a bit desperate for a new baby to try tiny nappies on!

Schulte · 11/04/2009 17:49

Good afternoon! Just come back from pizza lunch and Waitrose and they had run out of aubergines of all things!?? How am I going to make my moussaka tomorrow?

My bump is hanging so low it looks like LO must practically be falling out. She must have curled up in my pelvis Funny to have so much space under my boobs all of a sudden!

DD is talking more than ever - she said 'have you been shopping' when I came home with the bags, bit of an improvement from the 'wanna banana / pudding / milk' that she managed a few weeks ago.

So any news from Rachel then? And what about all these other overdue babies???

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 17:58

well I managed to finally get off my bed and DS2's little friend from next door came round to play, they had a lovely time. But when it was time to go, DS2 ran into nextdoors house and wouldn't come out. I couldn't grab him so his friends mum did and he was kicking and punching and when she put him down he started scratching and kicking me - cue a VERY embarrassed me and now I feel like crying

Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:51

Helloooooo?

Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:51

Helloooooo?

Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:52

Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:52
Grin
Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:53

I am starting to have a feeling I will be the last one left in a couple of weeks...

Schulte · 11/04/2009 18:54

Surprise don't cry, he's just testing his boundaries and your patience, as I am sure you know!

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 18:57

Hi Schulte

I'm here - Orbit is asleep and DP took DS1 to see his relatives for the day today after the zoo, so have been reading both penguin threads from top to bottom! It's taken hours!

Aubergines? what an odd thing to run out of. Hardly a traditional Easter food.

bronze · 11/04/2009 19:00

I'm here on and off.

Nothing happening here. Just desperate to get the kids to bed so I can watch Dr who

Schulte · 11/04/2009 19:10

WFH that's what I thought - asparagus and broccoli, fair enough, but aubergines???

Just been looking up most popular baby names in Germany... I don't want my DD2 to have a name that's in the top 10 but if we go with Anna that's really popular in Germany at the moment. Hmmm.

I am so bored today... should have got myself a nice magazine while I was in Waitrose!
