Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Schulte · 11/04/2009 19:10

Sorry don't know why I keep doing double posts. Blaming it on my computer.

Carameli · 11/04/2009 20:01

I am here for a sec. About to go and watch a dvd. Suprise, I feel for you and certainly know how you feel. My ds1(was 2 in Dec) is having a really tantrum filled few days.

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 20:24

thanks Schulte and Carameli, I just feel a bit overwhelmed with everything today. DS1 is supposed to be seeing two friends on Wednesday and we have been invited out Friday and I don't know if to say yes or no or what and...oh how silly does this sound!!

Anyway, DH suggested we go to the park tonight (just got back!!). Had a lovely time, no-one there so I went on the swings and the seesaw with DH! DS2 was laughing so much as us, it cheered me up loads. Don't think baby liked it though, she is going mad, hope I haven't upset her

SpringySponge · 11/04/2009 20:25

Okay, just quickly dropping in - very tired & want to go to bed to do some lovely family snuggling. Will write up proper birth story tomorrow, although I'm sure you know most of the details by now.

We're all fine - he's perfect & I'm okay, but a bit sore around the fanjo

Overall the labour was a really positive experience despite the interventions - not actually half as scary as I expected really.

I have something that's going to make you REALLY though - I've managed to totally avoid any stretchmarks on my tummy. Not a single one. Muahahahaha. (I'm not looking fit & toned though, I have to say)

Will quickly upload some photos, then I'm off for the night. Will catch up tomorrow. I hope everyone's well & there's some more birthing action going on! For those of you still waiting, it's totally worth it, I promise. Although he arrived on his due date (!) I was right there with you with the frustration given the ridiculous build up - & it doesn't seem nearly so bad now. Nobody has too long to go at this point & I can't wait for us all to be post-natal & not be dealing with the rubbish pregnancy crap anymore! xx

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 20:26

Springy, yay yay yay - so great to hear from you!!

Enjoy your family snuggling

SpringySponge · 11/04/2009 20:40

The photos aren't uploading properly - I think I've got one up, which will have to suffice for tonight That's taken still in the delivery room - he is very, very young there. You'll have to wait for the immediately after shot with me & my many chins until tomorrow. Night all xx

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 20:41

oh he's gorgeous Springy, what a lovely pic.

Night night and congrats again xxx

PuzzleRocks · 11/04/2009 20:44

Hellooooo Springy, so good to hear from you. I can wait for all the details tomorrow. We are all so proud of you. And to think you were worrying about caesareans at one point. Bloody well done my girl.
You sound really well, that's fantastic. And hooray for a line free belly.
OMG He is goddamn gorgeous. Gorgeous George . And no evidence of ventouse.
Enjoy your well earned rest but get your arse on here tomorrow and regale us!

Schulte · 11/04/2009 20:55

Hey Springy he's gorgeous. Looking forward to reading your birth story tomorrow!

By the way you smug one... I am a good few years older than you and pregnant for the second time and I haven't got any stretch marks either.

PuzzleRocks · 11/04/2009 20:56

Me neither, with 11 years on you madam!

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 20:57

I have stretch marks but no new ones since my first pregnancy, they are silver and fine and faded now so not too bad. Still of the people who have none though!

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 20:58

I think I'm a year older than you then Puzzle!

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 20:59

I have many many stretch marks courtesy of Mr Buttonhole! but then he was rarther laaaaaarge.....

Well done Springy, you trooper! He's gorgeous xxx

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 21:05

He was rather large WFE, in fact you have my total admiration for being able to remain upright throughout the latter stages!! (I toppled forward while bending down today )

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/04/2009 21:44

At last, my baby is here! Clement James was born at 2:12pm this afternoon! He weighs 8lb 14oz and is 22.5 inches long.

Here's a peek at him too:

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/Clement/CJ1.jpg

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/Clement/CJ2.jpg

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/Clement/CJ3.jpg

i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk108/rachins_photos/Clement/CJ4.jpg

I had contractions all night long last night - like every 10 minutes, so I didn't get any sleep. I felt they were beginning to fade this morning, and was giving up hope that anything would ever happen (having already had a previous night of contraction with nothing to show for it). So, I was only 1cm on Thursday, I'd made it to 3cm on Friday (though still no contractions). This morning the midwife came out at 9am and she said I was 4-5cm. She witnessed the painful contractions I was having and decided she wasn't leaving and that I was actually in labour. I had them about every 5-6 min apart for a good while - though many of them lasting well over 50 seconds. In fact, apart from a couple of back-to-back contractions, I'm sure they weren't much more frequent than every 4min up until soon before he was born! I ended up using gas & air for about 45 minutes so I could relax a bit, as I was totally exhausted! Eventually my breathing started sounding like I was ready to push, so they told me I should try the next few contractions w/out the gas & air. The next one resulted in my waters bursting - yay!! Quite a lot of relief (I had PROM for 2 days with other two children, so having waters in tact for so long was difficult!). Anyway, finally managed to push him out - was very painful and difficult (he's got a big head, which I think was a large part of the problem with labour not establishing), but I'm happy to say I'm perfectly in tact, with not a graze or tear!!

So, all in all, I got the home birth I wanted - though it was a long struggle to get there, with lots of pain and lack of sleep. But well worth it - we've got a lovely little boy! And he's feeding like a pro too - had a 1 hour feed from about 20 min after he was born! And he's very calm & content too! His big sister & brother love him to pieces too! Now I just need to get some very much needed sleep!!

My Hotmilk delivery arrived today... and DH was SOOOO impressed that he's bought me two more! He likes a lot...

We're getting the odd squeezing now too so I'm going to have a bath and see what happens!
