CONGRATULATIONS SPRINGY

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 10:44

ooooo x-posts! Congratulations to Springy, that's a good size too, 8lbs something?

surprisenumber3 · 11/04/2009 10:44

I think it's just an ounce or so under 9 lb!!

bronze · 11/04/2009 10:45

bigish specially for a small Springy

Carameli · 11/04/2009 10:47

Congrat SPringy, I was jsut about to say 4050g sounds big. ds was 3126g and that was certainly enough.

bronze · 11/04/2009 10:48

yes its 8lb 15 to the nearest ounce

JuwEggsm · 11/04/2009 10:48

Wahey Springy!! That must be about 8lb 9oz! Little George not so little! I can't believe you denied being in labour for so long with a good-sized little man like that coming down the chute! Huge congratulations!

JuwEggsm · 11/04/2009 10:49

Ah yes - 1kg = 2.2lb, not 2lb 2oz! D'oh!

bronze · 11/04/2009 10:51

lol I hate converting between the two too because of the whole ounces thing though I do prefer babies weights in lbs

Carameli · 11/04/2009 10:53

whatfresheggis this: have you got any chocolate and a good magazine, time to sit back and relax and enjoy the peace I think.
I know what you mean though. Dh sometimes takes ds and dd off to see his mum and I always have this little neurotic bit of me that is anxious when I say goodbye and if they are slightly late back. But then have to think dh never says anything if its the other way around and I am later than I have said back from friends etc.
Must be a mum thing

regards my sister thing, going to try and bite the bullet on it. I agree with others here she may just have thought it was too close but would have been nice to have been asked. Don;t want to ruin a great sister relationship over this. Just really frustrated

minush · 11/04/2009 10:58

Congratulations Springy! (Not so) little George is finally here

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 11/04/2009 10:59

Congratulations Springy! A due date baby, too at last the long wait is over for you!

BoffinMum · 11/04/2009 11:05

CONGRATULATIONS SPRINGY!!!
But are you still convinced this isn't labour???? I mean, you need to be sure before paying for a taxi, after all LOL!

WFH, there was a study done in 2008 showing that light to moderate alcohol consumption in pg and during bf results in children scoring slightly higher cognitively when tested later on. So the odd glass of wine could be considered a food group. They allegedly covered this up in case all pg women suddenly thought it was time to become total lushes, spending their time and HiP grant in gin palaces across the realm.

Announcement 1: BoffinDad has brought up a nice tray of healthy snacks and is being very kind and considerate (which to be fair he is quite a lot actually). So clearly he has been phased at the thought of hostilities. Tsung Zhu in The Art of War would suggest I just annhialiate the enemy once and for all whilst he is being weak. However BoffinDad is really very lovely so I am softening rapidly. I don't think I would be much of a military leader. I would probably cave in at the first sign of snacks.

Announcement 2: When using LilyPadz it is helpful to remove the hard plastic coating before attempting to peel the pad as well as its plastic packaging over the breast whilst cursing and swearing and rueing having spent £14.99 on something apparently useless.

Carameli · 11/04/2009 11:21

Boffinmum, that sounds great about the odd glass of wine. I admit I have had the odd glass recently as I did with dd and it did her no harm at all, a very very bright 5yr old at the moment.

Schulte · 11/04/2009 11:23

Must go get dressed and trek into London to meet one of DH's acquaintances for lunch. Would much rather bum around the house all day. Apart from everything else, am worrying about DD being exposed to chickenpox on the train / in Pizza Express - I know I am being a bit mental about this now but hormones and sleep deprivation are making me anxious at the moment

Schulte · 11/04/2009 11:24

I have been having sips of DH's beer almost EVERY night for the last few weeks - I just crave the stuff

Carameli · 11/04/2009 11:25

have to confess being a very bad Catholic girl and having a small glass of wine last night, on Good Fri!!

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 11:32

Thank you Carameli and BoffinMum for reassuring words - I know i get stressed out by mess and chaos so have tidied up toy explosion caused by three under fives, hung washing out, put more washing on, fed Orbit, eaten breakfast and drunk glass of water and am feeling marginally more sane.

Am now watching Desperate Housewives on my PVR but have paused it to go in search of chocolate....

So excited about George, shall expect a blow by blow account when Springy is back online!

Orbit is getting used to his new name, but I have to say I still call him Orbit or Button. Let others call him by his real name, Mummies are exempt

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 11:33

Still can't find the green teacup from DS1's tea set though...anyone spot it please let me know

Schulte · 11/04/2009 11:35

AAAahhh WFH are you like me? I ALWAYS have to find every toy / puzzle piece when I tidy up - just can't live with the thought that things might have got lost between the sofa covers or under the cupboards.

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 11/04/2009 11:43

Yep, that sounds like me! Currently on the missing list are one green teacup and three pieces of Thomas puzzle.

And don't get me started on the Playmobil pirates and all those teensy little pieces of treasure!

DS1 and his cousin started playing a wonderful game this morning with my pot of ceramic baking beads - they found one of those clicky catapult things for making little balls fly up in the air, and decided the baking beads were the perfect thing to put in there......the whole pot ended up all over the living room floor, there's hundreds of the little beggars!

We made them pick up every single one before they went to the zoo

brettgirl2 · 11/04/2009 12:02

Congratulations Springy, that's just brilliant news. Hopefully it will be the first of three......
