Haha, it's a pain for me to get to the hospital at the moment - the car's been taken to a garage & we won't have it back until Tuesday because of Easter (all part of my fun day yesterday ), so it'll have to be a taxi if I do go. & I can't really justify taxiing all over the place unless I have a really good reason.

Just had another 35 second one - it's really weird how it seems to alternate!

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 19:29

Mostly the belief that I'm never actually having this baby? Also that I think I'd know. & that I'm still early. & that I don't really have any other signs. & they're really quite frequent but I'm still in control of myself... Lots of things, really.

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 19:29

Also, I love Puzzle's geeky statistics

JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:30

Here I am, here I am!

Have been playing catch-up, penguin thread to read, you know how it is!

Springy are you in labour? How very dare you!!!

It really does sound quite promising though....

Still no *@$%ing action here despite yomping around Sandwich for hours (did have a Cornetto though - every cloud...) . Today is my 'due date by dates', plus full moon day, so I really think the Universe might throw me a bone here???? Later, I shall be found in the garden in the buff howling at the moon..........

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 19:30

ok springy law of sod says that because you have no car!! that labour will start today

35 sec contraction and cx 3-4 mins apart seems like a really good reason to me.

i think this could be it [not at all excited emoticon]

Puzzle - you are bloody fantastic, you know that dont you!! thanks x

BoffinMum · 10/04/2009 19:31

springy, a taxi won't take you in advanced labour so if you want one call it earlier rather than later

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 19:33

Boff, the taxi company I'm intending to use has said it'll be okay. I don't really want to drag DH out & sit in triage & everything AGAIN to be told that nothing's going on. & if I go in now, even if it IS labour, it'll be AGES in the hospital for no good reason. & it's bound to be really understaffed because of the bank holiday. It's really not worth all the upheaval...

mathshoneybunny27 · 10/04/2009 19:33

i am here, also on penguin thread as it is genius, but not been around as family sent in the big guns today.. i think they realised i was going a bit loppy so have been taking it in turns to entertain me DD all day. bless

JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:33

Need a graph please Puzzle ! Though clear to see we are doing well on the earlies (Springy take note.....).

NCT lady showed us a lovely chart of how irregular the contractions are initially. Could you see if on-call midwife could pop in to see you at home just for a check?

mathshoneybunny27 · 10/04/2009 19:34

or even loopy!

mathshoneybunny27 · 10/04/2009 19:35

oh and brava for all the cervix expertise ladies [proud mummy emoticon]

BoffinMum · 10/04/2009 19:35

Have you read up on precipitous childbirth at home then???????? Is that the plan?????

JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:35

No, remember, they take on extra maternity staff for the full mooooooooooooooooon! Someone somewhere said so, and I believe them!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 19:35

Juw - WTF is sandwich??? lol is it a giant sandwich park or something?? i have visions of you walking round a BLT all day

OP posts:
PuzzleRocks · 10/04/2009 19:35

Boff - I'm as useless as ever with the advice but I didn't want you to think I don't care. I wish I had some pearls of wisdom.

JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:36

Sandwich - for Nutty!

PuzzleRocks · 10/04/2009 19:36

Why thank you Nutty.

JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:37

Plus, there is a hamlet down the road called Ham !!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 19:38

Springs - can you go in please, just to apease my tormented brain.........tell the taxi firm to send the bill my way if you need to ........and if you make a return journey with no george then i do solomnly swear you can wallop me round the head with a mallet xxx

OP posts:
JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:38

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 19:41

OP posts:
JuwEggsm · 10/04/2009 19:42

I know...bit disappointing isn't it!

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 10/04/2009 19:42

Evening all,

Springy I think your denial of labour is a good tactic. When you can't speak through contractions, then get on the phone

So all the children exscept Orbit are in the bath with SIL in charge hooray! Orbit is in my arms hence bad typing.

Latest news is we have finally named Orbit....with apologies to BoffinMum, he is officially:

Felix Devlin Alexander

ta-daaaa.

Hope you don't mind Boffin - he'll always be Orbit Buttonhole on this thread let's face it!
