I always massage olive oil into her scalp about an hour before washing her hair. She looks like she works in a chippy. Very cute though.

WhatFreshEggIsThis · 10/04/2009 17:28

I've actually been calling him Orbit and sometimes Button for short - my mum is petrified that we're actually going to register him as Orbit Buttonhole....

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 17:32

I just had a contraction that sent me literally running for the toilet. Remember the fun days of morning sickness where you only just about manage to lift the lid before you're sick everywhere? Like that, but the other end. I'm thinking it's probably just a weird side effect of the 5 tonnes of antibiotics I swallowed yesterday, though. I refuse to entertain the idea that it could be labour.

I will pack my bag as soon as I've set the washing machine going, though. DH is totally oblivious & playing on the Xbox at the moment, so I may as well use my time productively even if I don't need the bag for another fortnight.

WFH, that pleases me more than you know

chickaleggjac · 10/04/2009 17:34

springy - "I refuse to entertain the idea that it could be labour"

Ha ha your denial sounds like transition, you'll be wanting to push any second now

chickaleggjac · 10/04/2009 17:36

how far apart are they?

bronze · 10/04/2009 17:37

Oh please.... he can always be button its cute.

Springy- don't report back til that bag is packed woman. It does sound like it could be it.
I was in denial with ds2 until it go to the point where it hurts so much
me- can you phone your mum please
him- why
me- can yu just fucking phone your mum please
mil come sover. We go to hospital. Start pushing after about 10 mins. Ds2 arrived lest than 3/4 hour after getting there.

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 17:38

Well it's definitely not that. If it's anything, it's still early. I feel perfectly fine in general & I'm nowhere near mooing. It's only been so painful for a few hours & they're not very frequent, although I'm still not in any way timing them. Perhaps the really big ones every 15 or 20 minutes? With a couple of smaller ones fairly evenly spaced between them. I'm still doing loads of stuff around the flat without a problem - I really doubt this is it, honestly! Too many false starts already...

SpringySponge · 10/04/2009 17:39

Haha, okay, I'll go & pack my bag. If I'm still hopping around every so often I may consider timing them then. There's no plug or waters or anything, though - there really aren't any new signs, so I'm not hopeful, really.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 17:42

Bleu - well done with the feeding settling down

Chicka - Now thats my kinda ghost!!! though i would prefer a chocolate one dh does well on that front though i must say

Springy - oh((hugs)) Mrs Sponge!!! go pack your bags!! xx please please let this be it for you !!! i'm crossing everything aside from my legs for you!! >> COME ON SPRINGY (damn my hopes are up now!!!!)

BB - lol at buddy gifts!!!

Auld - ooohhh enjoy the acupuncture

WFH - Happy Birthday!!! do let us know what you name little Orbit (even though we will only call him that ) xx

OP posts:
chickaleggjac · 10/04/2009 17:43

I reckon this is it. They're not meant to make you moo until the end of the 1st stage when they're coming thick and fast. It sounds like you're having them every 5-6 mins as the little ones should be included too. They are still contractions and the MW's at antenatal last week said many women think it's not real because they vary in strength. It is normal though. You've been having painful ones for few hours now so I reckon another hour or 2 like this then you'll be seriously considering getting some advice/going in.

bronze · 10/04/2009 17:44

Springy - not that you should be reading this as you SHOULD be packing your bag
no waters means nothing (that sounds odd) both my normal labours waters went when pushing and I think that that snot uncommon

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 10/04/2009 17:46

Bronze - my waters went when pushing too

just take it easy bronze, try a bit of poking and prodding, let us know

PuzzleRocks · 10/04/2009 17:57

Springy - my waters didn't go until I started pushing either.
My plug came out only shortly before I realised I should probably get my arse to the hospital.

bronze · 10/04/2009 17:57

yay just pressed probably a bit too hard with the flat of my hand on one side and he rebelled.
Hes not moving really though but I suspect hes completely run out of room

chickaleggjac · 10/04/2009 17:58

nice one bronze, you had me worried for a minute there!
