Nope - not Luna or Selene (though I like that name). Well, she's associated with the name Selene, since I think that's what she's traditionally known as. She's the female version of one of the original Titans (whose parents were Gaia and Uranus).

Actually I think she might also have been the grandmother of Apollo and Artemis...

I had a look in our Greek Mythology book and it's all quite confusing!!!!

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 11:01

What do I do? Complain to their head office? It has put me off ever going back to a kwick fit again! I then didn't have the money to have my service done (I had MOT and other bits done yesterday too) so now have to do that another day which is really annoying.

Schulte · 09/04/2009 11:01

Surprise were you relying on them for help with the other two?

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:01

Suprise - thats nice of them! are they going far?

Phoebe

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 11:05

they're staying in this country but about 3 hours drive.

they live 45 mins from me anyway so wasn't relying on them for the other two but also have a DSS who we have at weekends so they were on standby to pick him up and take him home if I go into labour while he's here.

Schulte · 09/04/2009 11:06

Well I just read about the titans and got all confused!

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 11:07

(DSS's mum would never come and pick him up - he too lives 45 mins away which she sees as the other side of the world!). So basically if I took DS's and DSS to neighbours in an emergency then he'd be stuck there til I don't know when!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:07

S2B- i'm not sure you can complain if you agreed to have the tyre fitted at that price ( you will have signed the job sheet at the beginning to agree to the works being done and again at the end to get your car), maybe ask if you can have a refund of the difference in price that the other garage quoted and make sure its the same tyre that the other garage would have used and the same that KF did use (tyres are very expensive, fitting should only be approx £50/60 dependant on garage)

Nutty wins the top prize!!!

JuwEggsm · 09/04/2009 11:09

Those naughty titans and all their inbreeding!

I quite like Leda, but I believe she was one of those poor women raped by Zeus, and I'm never sure that's a good background to have to your name!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:09

Thanks Kali

I've given up trying to work out the relationships between everyone in greek mythology. DH seems to know everything since they had it drummed into them at school!

JuwEggsm · 09/04/2009 11:12

"Uranus kept all of Gaia's children trapped within her womb, and Gaia groaned from the strain" - know how you feel, love!

Kalikaroo · 09/04/2009 11:12

Hmmm...I think Phoebe may have had her children fathered by her brother...that seems to happen alot in Greek mythology!

Soon2be - I've had bother with kwikfit before. I went for an MOT and they managed to leave my car with a huge piece of metal hanging off and dragging along the ground when I drove home!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:17

Suprise - what a nightmare ((hugs))

OP posts:
JuwEggsm · 09/04/2009 11:17

Well now I understand completely!

Schulte · 09/04/2009 11:20

Ha ha Ju! I once tried to get my head round the pharaos and that was also a right mess... lots of incest going on...

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 11:20

thanks nutty - I'm not going to get wound up about it, it's not he first time they've done something weird to let us down. My parents are only 20 mins away and have sat nav so I'm sure they could get him home or look after him if desperate.

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 11:21

Maia is nice

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:21

Suprise - hooray for your parents!!

minush · 09/04/2009 11:21

Morning (ish) everyone, have only just hauled myself out of bed.
STILL no more babies, or labours?????????? Are they on strike? Maybe they're waiting for easter Sunday in the hope this will net them more choclatey gifts in years to come?
Kali, I think Thora is gorgeous, it does make me think of Thora Hird, but she was rather fab and don't think the association will last long. I want to name my baby after a car though, so perhaps I'm not one to listen to . I want to name her Zafirah which is arabic (DH from an arabic speaking country). Rosa for a middle name, so if the car jokes become too much ........

soon2befamilyof4 · 09/04/2009 11:24

suprise - my MIL went on holiday the week of our wedding! Then blamed us for her not being able to come because we booked it in September and she always goes away in Sept. Bearing in mind that we booked the wedding before she booked the hol and she knew for weeks we were going to do it and didn't say anything .

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 09/04/2009 11:26

sorry just gotta say i'm like a loon watching my baby clothes (ebay bargains) going round in the wash

better be a girl now!!!! (though have only spent about £20 for bags full of clothes, she's set till shes 9months old i Love ebay!!!)

surprisenumber3 · 09/04/2009 11:27

OMG soon2be, that's really unreasonable wouldn't have put that past mine either though.
