Oh no!

Orbit is going to hunt me down in years to come and tax me with this crime!

Sorry Puzzle but it sounds like Orbit is taken and Orbitypus sounds like something that emerges from a pustulent boil! Platypus is cute though - would work nicely hollered across the playground or as in 'The new local hospital was opened today by Dr Platypus Rocks, the Minister for health'

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 19:39

Orbitypus being from a pustulent boil LOL

LOL Nutty where do you find those things?

Bleuravin · 07/04/2009 20:06

Hi everyone; Meggy and I are trying to sort out this breastfeeding business; I was going to ask here before jumping into the 'big river'

So finally after sorting out the latching on process and getting around the idea of pain etc.. Meggy has taken a hiatus from the breast of 6 hours... every time she wakes up squwaking and making sucking feed me motions I get her on the breast and then suck suck... zonk... any ideas?
Tried all th wake baby up to feed measures (undressing, tickling, sitting forward etc...)
AND my breasts are rock hard now...hand expressed 25ml in 10 min...to help with some of that; don't want to use the pumps as my nipples are sore already and I've found it doesn't help them all that much...(from 3am return to MW L U this morning because I was at my wits end with the latching on process)...

What do I do to get this baby on the breast?

Schulte · 07/04/2009 20:06

Aaaargh MIL has invited herself to stay over tomorrow night and whilst her help is REALLY appreciated it means I won't get to have a drink with the girls... or should I still go even if it seems rude? Does it seem rude? Being German I am never quite sure what I can get away with...

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 20:06

Springy - well it looks like you do

Schulte - say that you already had it planned and would she mind??

OP posts:
purlease · 07/04/2009 20:11

hi just bee scanning the las few pages. Congrats to all who have had babies.

I had a bit of a stress yesterday as I realised most of our back ups for DD are heading off for Easter. I think we are on plan E at the moment. DH suggested getting MIL to stay but did say he appreciated I might want to go through full alphabet before that option was considered

Had a check up today - urine infection and high blood pressure just to add to stress - need to take deep breaths...

Anyway going for a sweep on Friday and if nothing happens by tuesday I'm booked in for induction.

It was so much easer with the DD as we only had ourselves to worry about.

Schulte · 07/04/2009 20:11

Hmmm Bleu... is she a bit jaundiced and therefore tired? You really need to feed her every 3-4 hours at this stage and you need her to empty the breast nicely. I have no other advice than keep trying and keep moving her fingers and toes about and blowing in her face while she feeds to try and keep her awake - if she gets too sleepy I'd talk to the MW or health visitor. Sorry not sure if this helps? Good luck.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 20:12

Bleu - i'm not ignoring you but i really dont know, sorry things are a bit tough for you hopefully someone will be able to help

OP posts:
Swaliswan · 07/04/2009 20:12

Bleu, the best thing you can do for engorged breasts is to submerge them in warm water and try to relax. This triggers a letdown reflex without stimulating the nipple in the same way as hand or pump expressing does so you can get rid of the excess milk without stimulating loads more to be made. It is also very soothing and you will find that Meggy will find it a lot easier to latch on if your boobs aren't so full.
