p.s. I always found a muslin did the trick too. And with DD I used to keep a shawl handy and drape that over as well sometimes. Usually more to keep her warm than to preserve my modesty.

JuwEggsm · 07/04/2009 15:42

Well it's a pretty print Purple (oooooh, love alliteration), but it's a bit strange isn't it? I'm sure you'd get more funny looks using that than just feeding openly! It just screams 'I am embarrassed about feeding my baby'

chickaleggjac · 07/04/2009 15:44

BTW - Juw - ROFL at your plug being stolen!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/04/2009 15:45

trista - you can always tell a BF mum. she;s the one feeling her boobs all the time. lol

JuwEggsm · 07/04/2009 15:46

Not sure whether it's related to sweep, or just to the long walk (especially as all attempts at normal posture when walking are now impossible), but my pelvis is really achey now. It's making me waddle.

Do you think there needs to be actual destruction involved in the bathroom DIY, or could I perhaps just paint? Boff just painted, didn't she? Would just cleaning the bath count?

JuwEggsm · 07/04/2009 15:48

Well, Chicka, I was quite looking forwards to a proper plug, especially after having endured not only pictures but videos on t'Internet! Will be a bit disappointed!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 15:49

Purple - not relly my bag either, just thank her and put it away just incase it comes in handy for something.

Chicka & Juw - here you go >

Purple, I feel your pain. I just clicked through that site and when I got to the "hooter hiders" section a little bit of sick came in my mouth at that horrible phrase. I suspect things like this have been invented because breast milk is free so companies have a need to create peripherals they can make money off.

Still your cousin is very nice to think of you, but... it is a little bit like some kind of penal hood, it kind of seems to imply the baby has done something wrong or something.

I have been out shopping for HOURS and I am EXHAUSTED and I think I will get some crap up on 4OD and have some tea and cake. I can't think how people have more than one child, I really can't.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 15:52

Juw - yep try painting too

Soon2be.. Yes it was me that you were talking to! They are going great for DD2, and can't wait until little one is here to use them for him/her.

In answer to your other question: DD1 & DD2 were both induced due to poor growth towards the end of pregnancy (DD1 at 39+6, DD2 at 35+3) so I have been having lots of scans with this DC. Today's scan showed that baby has slowed or stopped growth (only 6oz in 2 weeks, but they can't tell, I suppose, whether that 6 oz has been a steady growth since 2 weeks ago, or whether baby put on 6 oz then hasn't grown for the rest of the time), and the fluid levels are down to 8.6 cm with deepest pool 2.6cm. Cut off levels for oligohydramnious are 7.3 cm and 2 cms at this stage, so that isn't far off the cut off. Because of that, and the fact that I've been in and out due to reduced movements over the last few weeks, they have decided that we should induce. Unfortunately for my poor back and pelvis, the first space that they had is Friday. I asked for today .

gingersarah · 07/04/2009 16:24

Hi Lulu, welcome back and congratulations on the move. Glad to hear it looks as you hoped!

Swaliswan · 07/04/2009 16:29

Afternoon Ladies,

Congrats on all the new babies. I've been reading but not posting for a few days because I kept on feeling really down and spent much of yesterday crying over nothing.

I could do with a virtual back rub. I have had twinges for much of the day along with diarrhoea. I keep feeling extremely nauseous as well. I'm trying to cook DH and DD tea (can't face it myself) without much success. I'm feeling really disheartened though as I'm not having any regular pains just this extreme nausea. As much as I want it to be early labour I fear that I have a tummy bug

purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/04/2009 16:36

oh swali - and

mathshoneybunny27 · 07/04/2009 16:41

Swali - have a lovely virtual back rub, with some tea and sympathy

Well I have had my sweep today as MW sent me in for monitoring, spent a few hours at hospital on CTG and i am excitingly 2cm dilated and - i quote - my cervix is 'lovely and soft' so MW at hospital said she may as well do it there.

Not quite as toe-curling as i remember, and she was very nice, so fingers crossed. then went for a long walk in the park with DH

Also induction booked for Mon so that should get things going.

oh and YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY BOFF you hero! So excited to welcome Felix lots of love and virtual tea, hope you are enjoying your first few days together xxx

surprisenumber3 · 07/04/2009 16:45

MM - just raced back from day out with mum to post your news (tried doing it from my phone but wouldn't work!).

Sorry I didn't get it on before you

No more outings planned now so will ensure I keep people updated for you

Glad you're okay anyway xx

mathshoneybunny27 · 07/04/2009 16:52

sorry surprise no worries, just bored at hospital

surprisenumber3 · 07/04/2009 16:55

No, I was excited for you and then spent a while in the soft play explaining to my mum who you were and why I was excited!!

Anyway, I have decided I'm not going out again til the baby is born. Everytime I walk around outside of the house I get stabbing pains so bad in my cervix, I think I am going to hibernate til she's born now!!

staryeyed · 07/04/2009 17:03

Hi everyone, Im still here- not popped yet. Congratulations for the babies that have come so far.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 07/04/2009 17:27

Hello lovely incubators! Glad to hear everyone's still popping out babies - 'cos today it feels like I'm never going to be un-pregnant again... I'm HUUUUGE!

Had an appt with the dermatologist to remove a dodgy mole today - right between my boobs, on the bra line - and now have 3 stitches so can't wear a bra for a few days. My norks are going to be dragging on the floor by then... tee hee... Guess I won't be going out very much over the next week!

Anyone else feeling a bit achey today? I keep getting periody twinges in my bump - top & bottom - but am convinced it's just LO being difficult, as she's been jumping on my bladder all day...

surprisenumber3 · 07/04/2009 17:30

hi Kitty - sorry to hear you had a dodgy mole but at least it's gone now! I've got one on my bra line on my back and it itches but every doctor I show says it's not dodgy and it only itches because my bra irritates it. I do worry about it from time to time though!!

surprisenumber3 · 07/04/2009 17:30

surprisenumber3 · 07/04/2009 17:31

ok, just realised there has been a baby born every day this month so far except for April Fools day! Who will it be today??!!

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 07/04/2009 17:45

Surprise - quite an effective tactic for getting it removed now is that you are planning to BF to give your child the best possible start, but because you can't wear a bra as the mole is too sore, you don't feel you're going to be able to... the threat of leaking boobs everywhere worked a treat for me!!! My GP was soooo quick to refer me...

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 07/04/2009 17:47

PS naughty Kitty alert... I've just spent my whole weekly maternity allowance on Hotmilk nursing bras from Figleaves... am I a bad person???
