Right, am heading off for my sweep shortly (). Have been trying to convince LO to make a move before now, and have threatened him/ her with external interference, but to no avail. So cervical prodding and poking and separating of membranes it is.

Have had some extra HobNobs for luck.

SpringySponge · 07/04/2009 12:16

Nutty, sorry that your DH was being an arse last night. I suppose the stress of everything is getting to everyone now. I don't really know why he's taking on so much extra work stress, but they won't be told... You know he doesn't mean it - I hope he's lovely to you today to make up for it xx

mathsmummy, I hope your sweep works - it really should do now!

BB, little Karahan sounds like a right character already I like the 'he's windy like his daddy' - when DH was born & he & MIL were on the ward for a couple of days after her CS, nurses kept peering around the curtains asking what she was doing. Apparently it sounded like she was ripping towels. In reality, DH was already farting like a pro

Oh, YAY for Boff! 5 minute second stage?! Good grief. That's quite something! I wonder how much that's affected the SPD...

Lauren, sounds promising!

Nutty - very hopeful about the induction! You're going to have your baby before me at this rate. I shall allow this, but only because I like you & because you're in so much pain. Otherwise, no chance

SpringySponge · 07/04/2009 12:17

Ju, good luck with your sweep. Don't worry - you've had some lucky HobNobs. Nothing can go wrong now!

BabyBolat · 07/04/2009 12:18

Oh purple don't worry I am not being allowed to do too much! DH wont let me near the bathroom unless it is to bath or wee - I have literally just put all the 'stuff' away today (we have accumulated so much crap over the past two days) done the dishes and dusted / hoovered etc, nothing particularly strenuous and I am done now so have nothing to do but enjoy the baby for the rest of the day!

Lauren you wont be a wreck - I was really worried at first but things just have a way of turning out ok I think whether it takes a day or a month, you'll find your feet!!! I do think I have been very very lucky with Karra tho - he is on the whole really chilled out and restful. It's only been two days but he lets me know when he needs something or doesn't like something and then just gets on with it really!

Nutty - help yourself to chocolates!!! bless DD and her practicing! How has your MIL been recently? has been a while since we have had an update on her?

Bronze, I never really had contractions in that sense but my back / side ones were like waves / spasms that intensified as they moved round!!

I'm so excited by the potential movement today!!!

oooooh Nutty that all sounds really positive - I was hoping you would agree to an induction as I just think you need this LO out of you! fingers crossed they will offer you one

lauren61 · 07/04/2009 12:19

err nosebleed :/ i really dont like this i feel so all over the place, its like "whats my body gonna do next"

B52s · 07/04/2009 12:22

Back from the MW - she'd put me down as a high risk HB due to sprog's CF-carrier gene, so I phoned the CF Trust and AIMS HB co-ordinator, was told no extra risks so wouldn't have to go to hosp afterwards to get sprog checked out by paed. MW had also investigated and spoke to a paed and confirmed this, so no rushing to hosp hours after a HB for me then (hopefully...). My iron has dropped from 12.3 to 10.8 though, so I'll be on the spinach before the next blood test. And I had trace glucose in my wee. God I hope I drop before 21st April when MW will probably tell me it's a no go for a HB...

It's all so exciting at the moment!!! ooh I like the ears.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:23

Juw - good luck with the sweep!!

Phd - what are you waiting for sounds like a fab way to spend the day!!!

Springy - thanks i really do appreciate it but i'm vey hopeful for you though as my appointment is on the 14th so 3 days after you're due and then i would have to wait a few days for my indy date, so i'm willing to let you go first.... in fact i will tell them no induction till Springy has George hows about that?? xxx

lauren61 · 07/04/2009 12:26

sounds good B52!! hope it all goes to plan fingers crossed for yoou

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:26

Lauren - sounds like you are definately on your way!! has the MW called back yet?? try and stay as calm as possible you're body knows what its doing xx

OP posts:
SpringySponge · 07/04/2009 12:29

BB, I hope you realise that I won't be doing dishes or anything like that after I've had my baby? I don't want you judging me as I spend all of my time falling apart & posting here about how much of a mistake it all was because I can't cope

Lauren, sounds like things are definitely gearing up

& Nutty, you'll be waiting for years if you do that - get her out of you as soon as you can, no matter what!

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:32

BB - haha MIL has been kept well and truly away from me by DH! (love that man!!) she hasnt even phoned or text V Happy Nutty!!! i know i'm so trying not to get excited myself (if they say no and i have built myself up i will be devastated) so i'm trying to be very calm (pah!! tis impossible for me LOL

B52 - oohh good still on for the HB!! glad everything is still in place for you

OP posts:
BabyBolat · 07/04/2009 12:34

Nutty, that is a lot to give someone you know - could be two-whole weeks of waiting for springy to pop - that's LOVE!

Juw - good luck with the sweep!

Springy he really does, honestly, he does these hilarious frowns when he is grumpy and he farts like a trooper (there are also some fairly impressive burps too!) and he lays in your arms staring at you as if to say 'well come on then - say something interesting!!!'

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:34

Springy - i bet you cope just as beautifully as bb!! xx you're going to be a great mummy MrsSponge!!

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/04/2009 12:34

springy - i'm so glad you said that about doing the dishes! (and dusting BB? DUSTING?? seriously??)

i really am shit at this keeping house thing.

Has anyone talked about DAY 3 yet?
3rd day after having the baby is when the emotions go haywire. i think i cried all day. totally normal apparently.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 07/04/2009 12:34

purplemonkeydishwasher: Been in Scotland for about 5.5 years now, so seems quite normal. Though certainly very different from the warm & sunny Texas that I come from!

Well, not having as many painful contractions today! Though I had a few quite bad ones at 4 something this morning - where I was getting bad pain in my lower back too, reminding me of what real labour is like! Think my plug started going yesterday (just clear) but woke up this morning to blood show....so I think something is trying to happen! Would be good if baby hurried up and came today, as today is my original due date!

phdlife · 07/04/2009 12:37

B52s dunno if anyone's told you - iron absorbed better if consumed with VitC.

My money's on porridge (high in iron) and OJ (vit c) for brekky.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:38

BB- Lol well springy has been in latent labour for quite a while, i would feel as if i was cheating her but Springy has been v persuasive and told me to go for it so i will.....

aaaaawwww too cute, no wonder you cant stop staring

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/04/2009 12:39

i would just like to share with you all that i am still in my pjs. didnt get dressed until 2 yesterday. shall i try to break that record? (DS is washed and dressed though.)

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 07/04/2009 12:40

Rachel - ooooohhhh fingers crossed

OP posts:
purplemonkeydishwasher · 07/04/2009 12:40

rachel - i vaguely remember warm and sunny. seems a distant memory though!

BabyBolat · 07/04/2009 12:46

oooh rachel - am sending you good movement wishes!!

Day three hey - that would probably tie in quite well with yesterdays strops! I was so frustrated, Dh just annoyed me for no reason, Karra was really fidgety all night as he had been sleeping in people's arms all day and wouldn't feed properly which made me sore and screamed when I tried to change him promptly putting his feet in his poo - joyous boy that he is!!! The house seemed like a bomb explosion with nappies, changing kits, bathroom crap everywhere, we had no bin bags so there was just crap an rubbish all over the kitchen, DH was determined to finish the grouting before bed so it didn't go right and every time I tried to help him or suggest something he wouldn't listen!

Can't believe he is only 3 days old today!

phdlife · 07/04/2009 12:46

ha, who wants warm and sunny? come visit ME!

(ok so it rained all day and temp has dropped 8 degrees since yesterday, but that still only brings it down to 20!)

SpringySponge · 07/04/2009 12:46

B52s, yay for the HB! Well done for putting her straight!

BB, he sounds adorable. He already expects you to be his performing monkeys 'I'm bored, what are you going to do about it?'

purple - I don't dust when I'm not pregnant or dealing with a new baby - there's no chance I'm going to start now

I'm laughing at your not getting dressed until 2 being a record. Amateur

'MrsSponge' may be an accurate name... I'm still rather in love with my bits of sponge. If I could marry it, I would be filing for divorce from DH so I could get on with it.

Rachel! We still need more babies, so come on! Gogogo!

B52s · 07/04/2009 12:46

Thanks phdlife. I ate so much fruit last night I was worried about my insides today. I like porridge - must get some this arvo.

lauren61 · 07/04/2009 12:52

MW rang back - she just said same as you guys keep a pad on and see how it goes. got to keep track of baby movement and tightenings and if i get backache or period pains ring hospital, but now im super aware il probably imagine them into happening lol =]

i felt crappy yesterday dint get out of pjs at all just changed um when i went to bed lol (which then got soaked at 3 this mornin!!) my friend came round yesterday but i reaaally wasnt in mood for visitors so hid behind sofa didnt even have heart to say not today thanks lol, god i need to get some backbone before LO arrives or il get trampled on!!

gorrrrgeous weather here today, little windy but v warm and sunny lovely weather for labouring [HINNNNNT TO THE HEAVENS!]
