soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 22:47

Ohhh I love baths ATM. I can only use it when DH is around to help me in and out but I do love them. It really helps my lower back pain and eases the aching in my ribs.

One thing that has been on my mind the last few days. My original dates made me due in the next week ish. But scan changed it till 22nd. I keep wondering - what if I was actually due next week, but don't go into labour and go more than 2 weeks over - but wouldn't be monitored in the same way that somebody well overdue would? I know there are risks that the placenta can stop working properly after a while and stuff? Am I being silly? Or should I speak to the MW at my appointment on Wed?

Does anybody know what the difference/conection is between having sugar in your wee and having protein? Are they something completely different to each other?

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 22:51

Congratulations mrsfossil! What a lovely name and well done on your VBAC.

I have an upset tummy - I am PRAYING it is the start of something!

surprisenumber3 · 06/04/2009 22:55

Congrats Mrsfossil, I remember the fantastic feeling when you succeed with a VBAC

Soon - I had a nuchal scan which put me due at 15th April, my dates were 17th April, my dating scan 24th April (this is the one the NHS is going by), but as I am sure of my dates/conception etc, I am going with 15-17th April. I mentioned to MW about going too far over and the placenta failing etc and she said because of the discrepancy she would do a 'sweep' on my dating scan due date and take it from there, but with emphasis being on me not going more than 1 weeks over my dating scan date (if that makes sense!!)

surprisenumber3 · 06/04/2009 22:56

Soon - I have an upset tummy too. Been 4 times today and have thrown up twice in the last 2 days too. No-one else ill so I am hoping it is the start of something too.

Sugar and protein in your wee are completely different, yes.

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 22:59

ALSO (sorry for multiple posts) I found out today (while at the dentist ) Why I keep going dizzy at all my appointments. Basically, the annethetist there explained to me (after I had a dizzy spell on his chair lying on my back) that when you lie on your back, the baby squashes everything and can make you go dizzy - which is what had been happening. Amazing that the midwives didn't even know this . As soon as he told me to lie on my side for a min, I was fine. At the MW appointment last week, they told me to carry on lying down on my back so I didn't faint! Which is probably why the dizzy spll took so long to pass! I drank about 2 pints of water trying to get over it but it wouldn't go - but now I know why!

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:04

My sister has just given mye back my Wii and wii fit she has borrowed for a few months - do you think I will break it if I use it now?!! . Thinking some exercise might help things on their way?

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:08

ohh SN3 - Hope this is the start for you! Mine has only come on this evening so don't know the extent of it yet. I am actually having a few tightenings as well now but I do get strong BH anyway so could just be that.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 06/04/2009 23:12

there must be something in the air lately affecting DH's!!

mine has been a bit of a knob all night!!

He got home, read dd a story, walked past me (said nothing) went into the bedroom, fell asleep till 8, got up shoved some ready meals in the oven (still silence) plated the food up, was still cold!! i put my plate down said

"sorry hun but its cold"
DH - yes i noticed but I STILL ATE IT! (really arsey)
me:

he goes of heats it in the microwave to piping hot and brings the plate back in then proceeds to rant about how bad/busy his day was (ok fine) i make some gentle suggestions that maybe he's doing a bit to much aside from his normal workload (hes organising the company football tounament and work has been manic due to the easter rush etc plus hes organising some workmates to go to some rehersal rooms to have a jam over the easter weekend and he can only sort it in work apparently)

aside from this a) the baby is on the way B)he's booked his driving test for 1st May?!? C) he's doing his advanced wine course which he has to study for the exam in June

my head gets well and truly bitten off for making said suggestion

i started donig the food shopping and simply asked what he wants me to get/ what he's happy to prepare as i would rather him say because i had noticed alot of stuff being thrown away because it wasnt being used.

DH:"will you stop pointing the finger at me"
ME: "i'm not! i't nothing personal just a household thing and i dont want to waste money where we dont need to by throwing food away???"
DH: "well i'm the one who does all the cooking at the moment. you're having a go!"
Me: "uh no i'm trying to make life a little easier for you and save some money"
DH: huff
ME: well i'll just sit here until the delivery slot runs out shall i??

dh finally makes some suggestions and the damn computer crashes

so i have given up...... on conversaton and the shopping

i know he's just having a bad day and that he's been really fantastic on the whole but gah i didnt expect that this evening!

Soon2Be - Boff reccomends Wii fit & Sports to help things along

Suprise fingers crossed for you

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:22

My DH has been an arse today too.

Regarding Wii - any particular activities on there that boff recommended? Will have to see if DH will set it up for me.

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:35

Sorry again to keep posting!

My tummy is really hurting. Probably has been for about 10-20 mins. If I touch it, it is really temder - is this normal? It is accompanied by bad heartburn but I have been getting that anyway. REally hope somebody is around still to tell me if they have had this?

Baby is moving but it is hard to tell the difference between BH/tightenings/baby movements

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 06/04/2009 23:36

Soon2be is it the top or bottom of your bump?

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:40

More top than bottom but sort of all down the middle (as in top to bottom not side to side). It is getting worse and I now feel sick too (got a bowl on my lap as I type). It isn't agony but is more than just uncomfortable iyswim. Can't really work out exactly what it feels like if that makes sence!

Thanks nutty for still being around

surprisenumber3 · 06/04/2009 23:41

soon - I'm feeling just like you. got shooting pains down from cervix too. Belly is rock hard but lasting longer than contraction type tightenings and feels bruised. Hope we have our babies tonight

nutty- sorry to hear your DH is annoying you tonight When mine is on the xbox he doesn't hear a word I say though. It has just been sent off to Germany for repair and will take 3 weeks to be returned

Hope Boff is okay - keep thinking about her!

soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:41

I am pretty sure I can feel baby's back in the place where it hurts. But can't but even the slightest bit of pressure on it as it really hurts

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 06/04/2009 23:43

i would say if its at the top of your bump by the ribs with the heartburn its pretty normal. my upper bump has been continually sore and tender for months.

if its the bottom of the bump near the fanjo area if you have been getting BH & tightenings plus the emptying of the bottom it would be a bit tender too.

I wouldn't overly worry, maybe try rubbing in some cold moisturiser to soothe it a bit

OP posts:
soon2befamilyof4 · 06/04/2009 23:46

being sick now. The main point of pain is in the dead centre of my bump. Right at the biggest point

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 06/04/2009 23:48

Soon2Be - sounds like your bambino is having a bit of a stretch in an awkward place can you massage the sides of your bump and maybe get the baby to move a bit and see if it eases a little?? if you're really worried give nhs direct a buzz or your MW (sorry not much help)

Suprise - dh has had his sent off a few times (it was like someone had died!!! seriously?!?!?!) poor thing didnt know what to do with himself
