Hi Bleu's DH

The tummy getting hard & increased back pain definitely sounds promising in terms of contractions. Is your baby back-to-back, do you know? That can mean more back pain. How often is your bump getting hard?

phd, when are you due?

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:30

Bleu, the baby will be in with you for a while anyway. & it won't care if the nursery's a bit cluttered. Babies only care about being full of milk & warm & cuddled, don't worry

Definitely get some rest if you think you can manage it. If it really kicks off you're not exactly going to sleep through it, so you're safe to go to bed & try to get some sleep if you can.

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:31

Status update by DH:

Bleu is being sick and we're on the phone to the midwives...

phdlife · 03/04/2009 00:32

due on the 4th springy!

don't worry about the nursery, Bleu - lo can always sleep in a drawer if necessary

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:33

Sick is another promising sign - the body's clearing out in preparation (It'll probably be diarrhoea next, if that's not started already)

How exciting

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:33

springy thanks for advice, I'm going to go to bed to get some rest. If this does turn into real thing I'll need to have slept.
Good luck bleu, hope things go smoothly for you.
I'll catch up tomorrow, goodnight everyone xxx

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:33

We were thinking the baby was back to front since we could really feel what we thought was a back, a bum and some legs and feet.. back to sort of front-and-side really. But today it's been moving around and has sort of dis-engaged too by the look of it.

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:34

Gosh, you'd think being due on the 11th that I'd not always be the last one expecting, yet it always feels that way!

Still, I get to look at lots of cute baby pictures as you're all churning them out without having to deal with the pain. Yet.

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:35

Night Trist, I hope you get some sleep & wake up at a reasonable time, well-rested & full on labouring xx

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:36

Well make it re-engage! I'm going to be distraught if this doesn't come to anything

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:39

You're not the only one!

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:41

But one way or another I'll have the baby by the due date I'd say...

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:41

Now your waters have gone there's no way that it can be very long What's the MW said?

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:42

completely ruining my theory...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:44

I have to continue to watch for movements; and for the waters not to turn green or black...
I'm to call tomorrow noon for a 'trace' if things have not progressed tonight... and then they'll book me in for an induction if nothing changes by this time tomorrow night...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:45

You can go to bed...don't want to keep you up.
I'm going to try to relax and maybe go on facebook for a little while to see if anyone at home is up

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:46

Excellent How are you feeling within yourself? Calm, or otherwise?

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:46

I will go in a bit, but DH is in the toilet anyway. Doing man toileting. He's been in for three quarters of an hour already

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:50

I'm calming... I've put my bathrobe on so i'm not shivering anymore... I was in a little bit of shock there for a good half hour

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:51

I'm not surprised I'm glad that your DH is there & being supportive, though. Make sure he runs around after you & any last minute bag packing gets done

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:53

oh yes I must remind him...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:54

I'm very excited Springy

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 01:00

Make sure he has drinks & snacks for him. & don't forget to take some change for hospital parking / vending machines Those are the sort of things that'll easily get overlooked, especially as things get more dramatic there!

I'm going to be off now, but will probably briefly check in on my toilet breaks throughout the night.

If you need virtual doulaing, don't forget that there are MNers around the world - there are usually a couple of people around the childbirth topic no matter what time it is. Just start a thread if you need to Nobody will bully you there

Night night - I hope you can get some rest before it all kicks off in a big way. I'm really excited for you! Good luck! xx

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 01:02

night thanks Springy

AuldAlliance · 03/04/2009 06:16

Just logged in, though have been awake since 4am.
Thinking of you, Bleu.
Stuff the nursery, you won't even notice it when you get home with a gorgeous baby, and there'll be time to finish off.

Boff, glad you've come up with a solution to the AP issue. Hope it works out for you. Have to go to PO this afternoon to collect a parcel, so will try and remember to take the Zweig for you.
