I will probably keep her on the same money and hours, but thinking about it, this will mean a lot more backup on the physical side of things (eg putting older kids to bed) with a clear conscience for me. We tend to pay a bit more than other people locally and the APs appreciate that. A decent night out here costs £40 so their money doesn't go that far.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 22:57

thats fair enough

ARGH! restless legs! I thought I had got away iwthout them but have had them the last few nights!! Its horrible and really clashes with the bad back pain .

I have gievn up looking for my clary sage oil and I am going to order more. Annoying though when I know it is around.

As off today I am officially fed up of being pregnant and want this baby out. Had major tummy cramps earlier but I think it was trapped wind

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 02/04/2009 23:32

try sleeping with a pillow between your legs or behind them

Hiya guys, listen where are all the babies?
I've been thinking about you guys all day wondering how you all are and I come on and it's still the same!
I've had a crazy day. Had MW this morning, different one to usual, but so lovely. My fecking blood pressure was high and there was some protein in my pee though, so she took bloods and has sent them off marked urgent. She has also booked a MW to visit me at home on sunday to check BP again.
She said if I haven't heard back by tomorrow evening that I'm ok and unlikely to have PE. In the meantime if I am unwell or show any more symptoms I have to get into hospital straight away.
MW said baby's head is fixed, what does that mean in terms of engagement? Anyone know? Like why did I not get fifths and all that, just 'fixed'?
Anyway came home and had such a lovely day, sitting in the garden enjoying the sun.
Then had antenatal class this evening.
Back has been really sore for a few hours now, baby feels like it's hanging out, and I think I'm having contractions.
I say I think, because I have back pain anyway, so am not sure what's going on. Might try timing them see if there's a regular pattern.

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:05

baby is really really going mental in there too.......really squirming
hmmmm I'm thinking something strange is going on here
oh another contraction....
ok so baby goes nuts just before a contraction.
Is that normal?
Please come back everyone.....

Northernlurker · 03/04/2009 00:11

trista - mum from april 07 here just looking in to see who's had a baby and I see you have something going on there!

Can't honestly remember what my babies did in labour (have three, oldest nearly 11) but as a rule of thumb fetal movement is always a good thing and tbh if your world was 'contracting' around you - you'd fidget a bit. How far apart are the contractions?

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:13

anyone still up?

Waters have broken...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:15

Trista are you in labor?

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:15

I'm here, but too tired to catch up. Just read everything, but will do a proper job tomorrow.

Didn't want to ignore the drama!

Trista, it's normal for the baby to go nuts before a contraction, yeah. Mine always does - almost like he's saying 'argh, there's no room anyway - don't squish me harder!'

How frequent are they?

& Bleu! A big gush? Or a trickle? Ooh!

Northernlurker · 03/04/2009 00:16

Oh good - expectant mothers have turned up!

I'm off to bed - have peaceful nights or not.

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:17

hello thanks for lurking!
roughly 9 mins, not too painful. Very long though so unsure about it being anything 'real'
Baby gives me about 20 seconds warning, it really goes mad in there just beforehand.
Craaazy

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:17

A trickle...then another and another... slightly bloody

pea sized bloody bit/gunk on the tissue...

shaking/shivering a bit...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:18

lots of tension in my lower back...

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:19

bleu you're on your way! relax, stay here!
I don't think I am I wont admit it til contraction master showes me regular results, have only just started timing them.

Northernlurker · 03/04/2009 00:19

Just caught your post before logging off. Aside from the obvious I assume you feel ok otherwise? If you have any headache or any other symptoms at all I think you should call the midwives for advice considering that your BP was high this morning.

Hopefully though 9 minutes will progress nicely down to the intense stuff - Good Luck to all!

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:20

Night, NL Always nice to see you, albeit briefly xx

Oooh, this is exciting!

Trist, can you feel your bump getting hard, then the discomfort / pain, then the bump getting squishier again? How long does it take from the beginning to get hard to the return of the squishiness?

& Bleu, that sounds like you're well on your way! Is DH awake? Are you okay? Have you put a pad in? Any contractions / tightenings / pains?

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:20

springy thanks for reassurance re baby, was kind of worried there!

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:21

No problem - I'm an old hand at this contraction lark, it's the bit after that that's a complete mystery to me

tristaleejac · 03/04/2009 00:24

yeah baby goes frantic, then bump goes hard accompanied with pain in back then gets a wee bit worse then calms down and bump is squishy and baby is quiet.
Bump going hard to back to normal is just over a minute at most, which is why I'm thinking it's not real as that's too long for early stage.
northern thanks for answering x

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:24

he's right here yes. he says 'hi.'
I've got a pad in now, and I don't think I'm having contractions though... besides the lower back pain and the shivering...not what I'd be expecting.
Was feeling like I wanted to vomit earlier. But that's passed now
tummy gets hard as back pain increases...but feel nothing really down low...

phdlife · 03/04/2009 00:24

ooh bleuravin, good luck!

think my baby's put its head into position - bump seems to have dropped and since yesterday afternoon feeling a LOT more pressure in pelvis area, so fingers crossed.

still no B-H, show, or name though!

SpringySponge · 03/04/2009 00:25

You never know - there's no definitive answer for these things. Do you think you'll be able to sleep through them? Especially if you take some paracetamol? You should get some rest if you can, just in case...

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:26

hmmm... need to vomit's come back..interesting...

I was laying in bed when this all started, might try to rest some more... though not sure.

Bleuravin · 03/04/2009 00:27

thanks for the well wishes...
I've not got the nursery comepletely finshed
