Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks for bolstering my sense of righteous jabba-the-hutt-ness. I shall carry on lying here, grunting and lowering tasty squirming morsels into my mouth.

Erm stupid question alert: some local mums are meeting next week, one of them has kids who have come into contact with chicken pox. I had it when I was about 8. Should I avoid meeting them?

Nutty - good news on the show - are you going to run about waving knickers like springy?

I wonder how Lulu is getting on?

SpringySponge · 04/04/2009 22:13

Yeah, you can see how much good waving my knickers around has done me

Although I am quite contracty this evening, so there's always hope.

There's never any hope anymore, but I'm portraying a woman who isn't on the edge of throwing herself in front of a tram

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 22:23

Well it sounds like self-defence tbh Springy.

I may have got away with the prawns as I don't feel sick, and probably would have done so by now.

Ginger, lying in bed being spoilt is an essential part of pg. I do it all the time.

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 04/04/2009 22:30

Back from lovely bath

Ginger - you are not being a brat at all, its just pure frustration, this living in constant pain is no fun and though we appreciate being looked after its really hard not being a bit resentful that you cant do it yourself, not long now, keep that in mind the end really is in sight!!! xx ((hugs))

Juw - If this much excitement brings about bits of my plug then bring it on i say!!

Boffin - Magic Words!!! boy i hope so!! you first though eh xx !! oh no your poor DH fingers crossed for you xx

Springy - i agree with Boff, self defense all the way!! ther is always hope Mrs Sponge xx

no knicker waving unfortunately as it all went in the loo probably a good thing though as i may have put it in a jar or some such madness just to encapsulate my happyness LOL

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 04/04/2009 22:46

May i direct you all to a SHINY NEW THREAD!!!!!!

xxxxxx

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 22:46

Nutts, what is your painkiller regime currently?

SpringySponge · 04/04/2009 22:54

I'm going to bow out of the thread-ending contest now before it becomes undignified

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 04/04/2009 22:58

well since the other day (after consulting you and Juw) i have gone back onto the 2 solpadol twice during the day (so 60mg codine and 100mg paracetamol in the 2 tablets x2 a day) and then carried on with the 3ml oramorph(all i can deal with before throwing up) at 8pm and 12pm

NuttyBlowUpEasterBunny · 04/04/2009 22:58

sorry thats 1000mg paracetamol

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 23:00

Nutty I think you need two more doses of Solpadol during the day. That isn't going to be enough IMO. And are you using your TENS all day as well?

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 23:01

And are you timing it very rigidly with a kitchen timer like a good girl??

And what about flexible ice pack use?

SpringySponge · 04/04/2009 23:03

Aww, I love it when Boff gets all Mother Hen at us

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 23:04

Cluck
Nutty, do you want me to photocopy my pain team booklet and send it to you?

BoeuffinMum · 04/04/2009 23:09

Suggested regime:

0800 2 x Solpadol, warm bath, TENS on.
1300 2 x Solpadol, Cold pack 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, 20 minutes on
1800 2 x Solpadol, Cold pack 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, 20 minutes on
2000 3ml Oramorph (optional)
2200 2 x Solpadol, TENS off, warm bath, hamstring and glute massage from DH
2400 3ml Oramorph (optional)

Worked for me ... except I hate Oramorph as it made me feel like an elephant was sitting on my chest, so I didn't take it very often.

If you keep this very regimented the pain gates will start to close. Promise. Then you might be able to reduce the codeine to 30mg 2x day, although for a hospital birth you may not need to.

BoeuffinMum · 05/04/2009 04:46

I may be in early labour but I am still bloody winning this thread!

Schulte · 05/04/2009 07:16

Ha ha no chance if you're giving birth at the moment Boff!

Schulte · 05/04/2009 07:23

Well come on guys there are 33 posts left - we'll never have a proper fight that way. Let me fill it up...

Schulte · 05/04/2009 07:25

Oh Ginger, you'll be fine if you've had CP yourself, go on and meet up. Unless you've had your LO by then of course in which case you should stay well away!
