Ladies, it seems that we do not know when to stop!
Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tamlin · 24/04/2009 12:13

Munchies, oh my word! What a surprise - congratulations!

I'm also living in old joggers at the moment - I need to buy more maternity trousers, but don't want to jinx things just yet. Am definitely showing though - enough that one of the girls at my toddler group asked me 'Are you pregnant? Because you look as if you are.' What happened to the rule about never assuming a woman's pregnant unless you're actually watching her give birth?!

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/04/2009 12:17

Yeah Munchies!!!!!

Tamlin I used to live near Oxford and have had many a joyous hour at the Oxford John Radcliffe hospital - is that where you are going for your scan? DS1 was born there.

tigger32 · 24/04/2009 12:38

Congratulations munchies twins that great news.

hobnob57 · 24/04/2009 13:17

What a fabby day for you Munchies I hope that twins makes all the ms worthwhile. Hang in there!

dorisdaily · 24/04/2009 13:24

Hello - having read these posts now for the last 7 weeks thought I'd finally introduce myself and get involved I'm dorisdaily, this is my third baby due 18th Nov. I already have 2 dd's who will be 5 and 2 next month.
I have convinced myself I'm having twins as I have been feeling movement since 9w5d! and my mums pyschic friend also predicted it before I even told my mum I was pg (I've never seen anyone look so horrified in my life!)
Has anyone got twins and did they feel movement early?

pavlovthepregnantcat · 24/04/2009 14:34

Becky - so sorry to hear your news. What a shock . Take good care of yourself.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 24/04/2009 14:40

Katster - yes it is possible to be showing! I have a lil bump, I am 10+3 according to my dates, and 9.7 according to scan dates. People at work have noticed already .

I feel so so so dreadful. DH and I have had mother of all rows, I just cannot be bothered to do anything, I am grumpy and I just keep chucking up. I hold down around 1 meal a day, in the eve, but most other things do not stay down.

I have just booked acupuncture session on the recommendation of both you lot and the midwife. There is like a 3 month wait for NHS lot, and I can't wait that long. I can't even wait until tuesday when my appt is really, but will have to. Its £45 ouch, for first session, £33 for following ones, she said to allow between 5-7 although it might be less than this. She said 7 is worst case (this was the case with a woman who was hospitalised and she got sorted) and can be done as quickly as one session (for nausea, without sickness). I do not care how much it costs right now, I am so fed up with it, its no joke any more. It is taking over everything and ruining everything

pavlovthepregnantcat · 24/04/2009 14:41

to doris - welcome to the November thread. Can't answer about twins, as I am having just the one, but welcome. And unfortunately, MS can be horrendous even with just one!

Everyone is supportive here, and will make you feel welcome

sleeplessinthecity · 24/04/2009 15:33

Hi Doris congrats on the Twins.. so many twins!!! Hope you're feeling great..

Pavlov glad you're getting something done. Don't stress too much we're all having a pretty awful time..I can't bear it anymore either. Want to throttle someone and poor DH is getting the brunt of it, along with the cooking and tidying up.. I simply veg as soon as DD sleeps. The thought of cooking makes me wretch. I hope the sessions work..let us know. I've just organised for a babysitter with my new neighbours to look after her youngest and my DD for a couple of mornings so money is going on that so I can't afford anything else . Would love to know if it works, fingers crossed for you!

tigger32 · 24/04/2009 16:15

Hello and welcome to doris when is your scan? It will be exciting to see if there really are 2 babies in there!

Has anyone bought any maternity jeans in last few weeks? I am trying to find a good pair that I can wear now as my normal jeans are too tight! Most seem to have the over the bump panel which is no good when you don't have a massive bump! Can anyone suggest any please?

barnowl · 24/04/2009 17:02

tigger 32 I have great pair of maternity jeans from www.jojomamnbebe.co.uk they're under the bump with a small stretchy panel they're called boyfriend cut jeans. They've got lots of others on there too. Hope this helps.

Laugs · 24/04/2009 17:05

tigger I haven't looked this time round but last time I bought New Look ones that had the buttons on the side rather than the over the bump bit. They were quite cheap too.

Oh, if you are going shopping today (late, I know), I just noticed Dorothy Perkins have 20% off today and they do maternity wear (haven't looked at it though)

After all the talk of pampering a few days ago, I have booked tonight in with DH as my Night Off. I'll have dinner with him and DD, but then I am disappearing into a bubbly bath for a face and hair mask and to read my book. Then I'm going straight to bed (have changed the sheets especially, so they're all cool and crisp!) to slather myself in body butter, paint nails etc and have a big nap. When DD is asleep I'll re-emerge for pancakes, rhubarb and ice cream. I can't believe how excited about this I am. I have been in a brilliant mood all day just thinking about it and my plan keeps getting more and more elaborate. How sad. Once upon a time I used to actually go out on a friday night!

pavlov really glad you are getting some help with your MS. It will definitely be worth the cost if the accupuncture works even a bit. Hope you manage to get things sorted with DH too. Make sure you get a decent lie in this weekend.

doris welcome to the thread! I can't believe you managed to lurk for 7 weeks - what amazing will power!

katster37 · 24/04/2009 17:30

Wow, Munchies TWINS!!! That is so exciting, you must be thrilled!!

Welcome Dorisdaily and yes I agree - what will power to lurk for so long!!

Pavlov I have also heard fab things about acupuncture and have had good experiences myself albeit for something else so let's hope it works.

Laugs your evening sounds gorgeous!

Glad other people are looking a bit portly/sticky-out-belly as well, and not just me. I really hope the weight goes after the baby is born, I hate feeling fat (sorry - I know you're not meant to say things like that but I feel quite rank at the minute at only a few pounds heavier than normal...)

Am having a right palaver with the midwives here. Spoke to one ages ago to book the booking in for 8 May which is same day as scan, so booked day off work and school have booked a supply so I can be out all day. Then had 3 different midwives call this week and leave answerphone messages (never actually spoken to a real person) saying they are trying to book me in for a booking in appt, and also have I arranged my scan 'cos I need to!! Got the scan date 2 days after I first saw GP when I was 4 weeks!!

Also, after a week of hellish nausea, have felt remarkably well today, only feeling like I was about to puke on 2 occasions which is really freaking me out after some of the awful news on here this week... Please reassure me!

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/04/2009 17:47

Katster my MS has been 'better' this week since Monday, not that that is reassurance for you but just hopefully pointing out that perhaps it is normal to wax and wane with MS. I felt crap week 5-6 then ok week 7 and crap again week 8, a bit better week 9 with a slight relapse end of last week and better this week.

Tamlin · 24/04/2009 17:47

Becky, yes, we were living in Oxford when I was pregnant with ds so we saw Dr Impey and Salli for the nuchal then, and have booked there again (if it's not good news, we know that they're nice!)

Tigger, I got some v. cheap maternity jeans with stretchy button waistband that expands (so they look like normal jeans from the outside) from old Dotty Perkins last time around. They don't last past seven months or so (that's when the big tummy panel numbers come in handy) but they were great at first.

katster, I am also not a fan of the pregnancy weight gain - if it was all in my belly I wouldn't mind so much, but why my body feels the urge to lay down fat deposits along my JAWLINE I have no idea...

pavlovthepregnantcat · 24/04/2009 18:09

Sorry I really sound moany all the time right now don't I? , I know we are all struggling, should not be so absorbed. Just don't recall it feeling this hard last time. DH told me I was ruining out marriage as I am starving him of affection, treating him like a slave, treat him like he is useless and its all me me me .

Oh I do have something positive though! I saw midwife, lovely lady she is, same one as last time and she remembers me, we had a good chat. She said I have to be consultant led, and this means lots more scans this time round...i like the scans, i like seeing the progress of little one!

grace09 · 24/04/2009 18:16

Hi there! I there space for another lurker?? I've been floating in an out of the pregnancy after mc thread as i had 2 mc last year. Have not been wanting to tempt fate by joining this thread but my will power just slipped when i read tamlins post re the jawline weight gain. Really made me lol and brightened up my day as i have suddenly what's actually starting to look like a triple chin developing and minimal evidence of a jawline at all!! Anyway i'm 8+4, which is the longest i've got to so far but am still panicking everyday. Had some bleeding and cramping early on but was scanned at 6 weeks and everything was ok. I'm on this new treatment for mc (think my hospital is the only one doing this at the moment)which involves daily clexane injections and low dose aspirin so really feel like i'm doing something proactive to help this wee bean along. Got another scan on monday so counting downs the days which are dragging.

Anyway you all seems lovely and thanks again tamlin for giving me a laugh!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/04/2009 18:58

Tamlin I lived in Oxford from 1997-2000 and then we lived in Charlbury, near Witney, until last September. I had DS1 in the JR and DS2 in the maternity unit in Chipping Norton which was totally lovely - I wish I could go back there again but slightly too far at 100 miles away! Good luck for your scan

Pavlov don't worry about moaning. That's what we're here for to share our woes and joys. If I were feeling as sick as you I'd be the same. I think your DH is being a bit over dramatic saying what he said to you. It is stressful for them too sometimes but they aren't the ones feeling so crap.

Hello Grace09! There are a few of us who have had MCs in the past. I lasted out until about 5 weeks before joining this thread after vowing to wait until 12 weeks! But I think the support these guys give me is very important to me.

helips · 24/04/2009 19:27

munchies congratulations! so exciting for you, has the news sunk in yet? What has been your family's reaction?

Welcome dorisdaily and grace09, when are you having a scan doris? will be interesting to see if you are right about twins. Grace09 good luck with your scan on Monday, hope this bean hangs on for you, you've got this far already so stay positive!

laugs your evening sounds heavenly, I am quite jealous! My dh is bathing ds and then I shall cook dinner and slob out in front of the telly. Oh how Friday nights have changed!

pavlov sorry to hear you are still feeling so rough, hope the acupuncture works quickly for you and that you start to feel better soon.

My tummy is huge, I reckon I look about 5 months pregnant! I feel ever so self concious and keep trying to suck my tummy in so people don't comment but it won't suck in anymore! I really hope it slows down soon otherwise I'm going to be the size of a house!

chocotastic · 24/04/2009 20:25

Not been on much recently (too busy out enjoying the lovely weather) and it's just taken me an hour to catch up!

Cupoftea and Becks, I am so sorry to hear your news . I hope you are bearing up ok.

Great news on the twins Munchies . How exciting!

And welcome, Doris and Grace. This is a great thread for knowing you are not alone in the various ailments that come along with being pg!

We had our scan on Wednesday and I am pleased to announce that I have a healthy young bubba in there. We also heard the heartbeat going like the clappers at 173bpm. The sonographer said this indicates a boy but DS always had a slow heartrate so not reading too much into that - will just have to wait for the 20 week scan to find out for sure!

Sorry to hear so many still suffering with MS. Mine seems to have eased for the most part (now 12+4) so hopefully it will be over for you soon too.

Whoops, not sure what happened there

turtle23 · 24/04/2009 21:14

choco-apparently there is some truth to the heartbeat rate thing....but only when they are at term!!!

katster37 · 25/04/2009 08:24

Choco congrats on your scan!

I feel like I am really behind everyone with loads of you being over 12 weeks already! I am only 10...

Feeling really paranoid after so much bad news on the thread this week. Am terrified I will get to 12 week scan and find no baby. It's all so scary!!

Anyway hope everyone has a good Saturday. I woke up feeling really sick, much to my relief. Can't believe it's raining after such gorgeous weather all week!!

katster37 · 25/04/2009 08:25

PS pavlov wanted to say I hope you and DH have made up. Is so hard being pregnant and maintaining an exciting relationship isn't it. Does DH realise how sh*t you're feeling?! Good luck, anyway x
