Ladies, it seems that we do not know when to stop!
Here is another thread. Let?s hope it?s just not the tread that moves that fast - let the weeks fly!
I jsut have to work out how to link the old one now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
katster37 · 17/04/2009 16:24

LissyGlitter how awful - that is my nightmare, being rung by GP to discuss results - it once happened to be years ago witha bood test - I had to have a millions things checked and it turned out to be absolutely nothing but I had convinced myself I had something absolutely awful. WHich is why I daren't ring the Dr for my blood tests taken over 3 weeks ago.... But atleast it was not too scary for you! At my GP appointment they gave me some leaflets, arranged for MW to contact me and booked me into King's hospital for my scan (appt arrived 2 days later). Didn;t do blood pressure or anything. Oh, gave me the certificate which entitles you to free dental and prescriptions.

Pootle have you had any more bleeding? Sorry to hear you are feeling anxious, it's awful isn't it. Do you have to discuss in person or would they tell you over the phone?

katster37 · 17/04/2009 16:24

blood test, not a bood test.... Duh

lemontop · 17/04/2009 17:00

barnowl great news on the scan

Sorry for all those feeling bad with MS.

I'm back at work on Monday and also dreading my commute which can be an hour and a half on very busy trains. I think I'm going to try and leave a bit earlier to make sure I get a seat. I am looking forward to work as a bit of distraction (did I really just say that?!!).

I've been feeling very emotional this week and quite down with no energy or inspiration to do anything. I'm hoping that it's just all the hormones flying about and it will pass. My social life before getting pregnant mainly involved going to the pub and I don't really fancy that much I'm not drinking. Need to find some new wholesome things to do!

Sorry for self indulgent moan!

owl13 · 17/04/2009 17:01

Hi all,
New member:
Just had my dating scan, and am due November 3rd. Finally believe I'm pregnant - as have had no symptoms to speak of so far.

becks130 · 17/04/2009 17:59

Hi All,

barnowl & Owl13 Good news about the scan, I have mine on Wednesday and can't wait.

I hope people aren't feeling too bad now, I haven't had any MS for a couple of days so I was feeling pretty good until last night when my back started to hurt like hell and it feels the same today I am just hopeing that it is SPD, I had it with ds and my whole came to a complete stand still as I couldn't walk unaided from about 16 weeks until I gave birth. Fingers crossed thats it's not that again.

Tamlin · 17/04/2009 18:16

I think my morning sickness is FINALLY starting to let up (at eleven weeks). I haven't thrown up for the past two days. I'm absolutely delighted at the thought that just possibly, this will be a normal pregnancy ms-wise - I remember feeling desperate with ds as I kept throwing up long into the third trimester.

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/04/2009 18:30

Please everybody do not feel guilty about moaning about MS: that is what we are here for, right? Because we all understand what it feels like and that moaning helps! It helps me to know I am not alone in feeling like crap warmed up. Just think how great it will be when we start to feel better

We're back from Wales now. Had a lovely time. The cat is driving me mad though: I think she missed us as she's only had DH for company for four days and he isn't very much fun when he's home alone as he just sits at his computer!

I'm very at those who are now 12 weeks. I'm just over 9 weeks and still feel very vulnerable. My scan is on bank holiday Monday 4 May - ages and ages and ages away!

katster37 · 17/04/2009 18:31

Tamlin - into your THIRD trimester??? That is not fair, poor you. Fingers crossed it's not the same this time.

Becks I hope you're feeling better. Sorry to be ignorant but what is SPD? It sounds awful, but I don't think I have heard of it.

Welcome owl! And fab news about all these positive scans!! Keep them coming. Can't believe it's THREE WEEKS to mine.... How am I going to get through that?!?!

I am so so tired today. Never been so tired and have done nothing all day. Was meant to be doing maths planning and i haven't. Just going to the tap to get a glass of water made me need a lie down. Managed to make a risotto for tea but while I was chopping green beans (gross gross but need to eat some veggies) I was retching into the sink Am only 9 weeks so I fear I may have a good couple of weeks more to cope with this. Think DH thinks I am being a total wimp tho he hasn't said. I did hang up on him for no reason on the phone. I am a right cow.

katster37 · 17/04/2009 18:33

BeckyBendyLegs I also still feel v vulnerable. We must be due at similar times I think. It's awful isn't it, anxiety coupled with feeling crap!! Great combo!! Glad you had a good time in Wales.

sleeplessinthecity · 17/04/2009 18:49

Thanks folks...you're prob right..DD will be fine, she is just playing up at the mo and I have no energy to pick her up all the time. We had our new neighbours over for tea with her 3 delightful kids. DD was a mare, stuck to my hip whinging for 2 hours. Poor mite. I just don't know what to do..

Anyway, welcome Owl13..be glad you don't have MS!!!

My heart goes out to all of you commuting..However I would love to be at work! the distraction was indeed good..

Can't wait to start the W/e with DH..help at last!

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/04/2009 18:51

Hi Katster it's so hard and emotional this pregnancy journey. It's the uncertainty that is hard at the moment.

I am so emotional DH made me cry today as I was driving and this land rover with caravan struggled to pass me and he said 'you should have waited a bit further back'. Ooooh I was mad! I'm sure normally I would have just thought 'oh whatever!'

sleeplessinthecity · 17/04/2009 19:08

Becks130I had SPD and it's not fun. It's already reared its ugly head and doesn't help that I have to carry DD up and down the stairs.. Did you have Physio?

Glad Wales was good and I agree, this emotional rollercoaster is tough..Don't you all feel bad about blowing up. It's natural and we have a great excuse..I cry all time.

Well done Katster for cooking..if I go into the kitchen I wretch, and green beans too..I can't even think of eating healthily. We're having take away Geneva style..ie by the time DH gets home it will be cold..

katster37 · 17/04/2009 19:19

BeckyBL I also irrationally cried today (Not that I am saying you are irrational - I cry quite frequently when riving tbh!!) DH came in from work and I literally could not stop crying, big gloopy tears, for about half an hour. What is going on?! Your DS's look adorable, btw. Had a sneaky peek at your pics! How cute!

katster37 · 17/04/2009 19:20

Sleepless DH also ate Geneva style - like that expression!

Joycey29 · 17/04/2009 19:35

Hi Katster
I had reflexology through out preganancy and then she came in on they day. I had a horrible time with dd and wanted someone on my side.
She played with my feet throughout and could tellme when a contraction was coming to the second.
I had ds in 3 and a half hours with no other pain relief. (after dd was all prepared for every thing on offer so was amazed)
Already seen her once this time so fingers crossed.
Also on the MS front felt permamnently shit but wasn't sick with dd and was sick every morning for 12 weeks but then felt fine with ds so different but not conclusive.......

Tamlin · 17/04/2009 19:54

Katster, SPD stands for symphisis pubic dysfunction. Basically, pregnancy loosens up ALL your joints in preparation for childbirth, but in some women, this loosening means that the pubic joint connecting both sides of your pelvis separates too far, leaving too large a gap. You wind up with a lot of pelvic pain (including stabbing crotch pain of doom every time you open your knees more than a tad to say, get out of bed or put on trousers) and lower back pain, usually. In bad cases, you wind up on crutches. On the bright side, it usually goes away after the birth.

I had hyperemesis and SPD with ds, am hoping for a better run this time - but as I've got hypermobility (all my joints are already extra bendy), pregnancy tends to do a number on me. This time, however, I have a private physio already lined up (since the NHS was bollocks), and am doing exercises in the hope of staving off the misery as long as poss!

BeckyBendyLegs · 17/04/2009 20:08

Katster thank you! I think they are cute too but then I would They have their moments...for example ten minutes after eating some of their Easter eggs they are manic and drive me bananas!

Wow reflexology sounds good. I'd love to give it a go. I nearly contacted a acupuncturist here one morning when I was feeling really sick but just never got around to actually picking up the phone. By the time I do it I'll be having the baby knowing me.

I am an emotional wreck at the moment too. I think I am feeling quite low at the mo. as it is 'back to normal' now and work and school and the old routine of getting up, rushing around and all that. I wish it were summer now so I could go on holiday again!

Total lol at eating Geneva style!

katster37 · 17/04/2009 20:29

Wow, reflexology sounds amazing. I know people who have found it v useful for conceiving, after years of difficulties.
SPD sounds horrendous. How debilitating.
Becky I know, I think that is why I am feeling down. Back to the old routine, racing around, busy trains, feeling tired AND having to do things (!)
Having lots of twingey type sensations the past two days. Not pains, more like twitches or pulls. Sometimes at one side, sometimes in the middle. Would rather not have them, they are making me paranoid.

FairyBex · 17/04/2009 21:26

Hi everyone. I've updated the list as I had my booking in appointment today and all seemed well except my blood pressure was a bit high so I think I'm going to be a frequent flyer with the midwife.

I also have my scan date. I'm seeing nearly all of my (big) family on 16 May so she booked me in for 15th there and then so hopefully I can spill the beans with everyone together

pavlovthepregnantcat · 17/04/2009 21:29

I am soooooooooooooo tired. I have been busy all day and not stopped and just crawled into bed, and my egyptian cotton sheets feel lovely! I am stretching my legs out and doing starfish to find more cold spots...I loves that feeling!

I am tentatively going to announce that for the first day, probably at all since this pg, I have hardly felt sick. I say hardly as it always seems to lurk a little. But I found just eating eating eating has kept it at bay for the first time all day. And keeping busy I think has helped. And DD has been a joy. That has helped a lot. Apart from when she had a tantrum and I was not allowed to laugh at her as it made her even more angry 'don't laugh at me mama, SNOT FUNNY!' Nom your right dear, its not (chortle).

I have eaten
8am Two slices of plain toast
10:30am huge bowl of cornflakes.
12:30pm Covent garden soup and 4 slices of thick white bread.
2pm 2 slices of bread
5:00pm huge handful of grapes
7pm cauliflower burger, mash, peas, carrots.

{shock] more than I have eaten for days!

I am glad to hear that some people are having a let up of the ms, and fingers crossed for all the teachers back at work next week and all those with scans due next week.

southernbelle77 · 18/04/2009 07:38

Morning all. I've just been trying to catch up on this rather fast moving thread! Congratulations to all of you that have had good news with your scans. Mine is in 2 weeks on Tuesday but the wait is going so slowly. I'm still feeling anxious about it being ok or not, like a lot of us. Did another pregnancy test yesterday for a bit of reassurance!!! I've promised myself I am NOT going to buy any more tests now!! Not having too hard a time of it with symptoms etc. Still get a bit nauseous if I don't eat but a little paranoid about lack of ms as with dd it was hideous! Seeing midwife tomorrow for appt, not that it will make me feel less worried as it's only filling in all the paperwork etc! Only real symptom I guess is severe irritability!! But then again, maybe I'm like that usually and just using this as an excuse . Sorry for those of you feeling really rubbish with bad ms and things.
Tabbykat - congratulations on your inspections. Glad it went well even though you were feeling ill during it!

scarlotti · 18/04/2009 08:32

Morning all

Glad there's been so many succesful scans. I have mine a week Monday so looking forward to that.
pavlov so pleased you had a day of feeling a bit better.

I eat a banana and a pile of grapes every morning when I get to work, after having had a large bowl of meusli before I leave home! It seems to stave off any remnants of nausea and also seems to help with constipation!

kaster I've had 3 sessions of acupuncture but felt relief from the first one. It really was like feeling nausea all day one day, then it was gone the following day. It is a lot to pay (£35) but as I'm not spending any money on going out I felt it was worth it. personal choice though! To be honest, I felt so awful I'd have done anything!
It's also put me back in balance too both energy wise and emotional wise. I plan on having one more session then that will be me as I'll be past 12 weeks and then hopefully feeling on top of the world!!

I wonder will we all be disappointed if we wake up on 12 week day 1 and don't jump out of bed?!

katster37 · 18/04/2009 08:54

Scarlotti I don't think £35 is too bad at all. I would pay that. I had thought it was a lot more tbh. And the way I feel this morning I would hand £35 to anyone to take it away!! It's 'cos I got up later - if I get up and therefore eat later than 7am my body gets too hungry and feels extra sick. Yuck. Think DH is used to hearing me retch constantly. How attractive. 9 weeks today though so feel progress is being made!!

Apparently the weather is going to be gorgeous today so everyone enjoy Saturday x

BeckyBendyLegs · 18/04/2009 09:42

I find bananas wonderful for mid-morning nausea. It's soon time for today's. I got panicky yesterday because we only had one banana left and DH gave it to DS2! 'But I need it for tomorrow morning!' I told him (like there are no bananas to be bought on a Saturday morning around here).
