does anyone else feel really really bloated, stomach 10 months expanded and painful?!!

and i haven't even started on my 5 easter eggs yet..

barnowl · 11/04/2009 21:11

Hi all, just been catching up, got back from hols. Wow there are a lot of us now!My scan date was waiting when we got home it's next Fri so that was a nice surprise I wasn't expecting it so soon. Mind you I don't know how much longer I can keep quiet anyway I'm huge already my waist has expanded by a good 3-4 inches! Good to hear so many people have had positive scans. Sorry to those who've had bad news it's so hard when things go wrong.

pavlovthepregnantcat · 11/04/2009 21:37

Hey guys. Good news I think...no more bleeding, woke this morning and nothing there when i went to the loo - phew ! I am going to see gp anyway and get a scan just to be sure, but i am feeling more positive about it right now.

MS with a toddler? Yes, well, my poor DD last friday 'oh mama you poorly gain? You drink too much milk too? ' 'you k mama, your belly sore? s'ok mama' [rubs my back, while I hurl, unable to tell her to leave the bathroom - she is only 2.9!) 'daddddaaaa! mama going Blurgh! in the toilet, we get her some medicine?' shouts to daddy in kitchen....poor thing, she seems to think I am sit all the time at the moment!

5 Easter eggs??? Lucky you Weston I've got one egg from DH but he also has also bought me Mistresses seasons 1 and 2 on DVD

Pavlovthepregnantcat that is sooo sweet about your DD, she's probably worried about you being poorly all the time. A friend of mine told me when she was throwing up with MS her daughter used to stand there and say 'come on mummy, you can do it, get it all out, you'll feel better in a minute!'

My DSs are bouncing off the walls at the moment...chocolate does that to them!

turtle23 · 12/04/2009 09:22

This pregnancy is going sooooo slowly. Dont even have booking in for another 17 days. Argh.
Am very excited as my current birth client was due Friday so am sitting by phone waiting impatiently. Am hoping it will be a lovely birth and not leave me thinking "What have I done?!!!"

pinkfizzle · 12/04/2009 10:14

Turtle - you are going to have to spill the details of the birth when it happens!

Katser - how fab to be in Cornwall - am jealous, but understand that you simply can't chuck quietly!

Pavlov - what a lovely DD and it is good news that you are feeling better.

Becky - what a thoughtful DVD from your DH. I'll be using that DVD idea to hint to my DH.

Thanks for all the lovely supportive messages about MS. This is such a great thread.

Hope the Easter Bunny makes it to everyone and you all have an Easter Extravaganza!

PootleTheFlump · 12/04/2009 19:23

Happy Easter everyone !

I need a longer sit at the computer to catch up with all these posts, and a cheese filter to opt out of posts mentioning cheese - bleurgh!

Have had a teary few days, boobs are still big but not at all sore anymore so became anxious about that, and then (tmi alert!) have developed thrush or similar which has made me sore. Also had a slight pinky tinge so freaked out completely and went to see on call GP. Obviously no-one can do anything but took a swab and strangely I feel calmer for having cried?! Am going to contact midwife next week and discuss bringing scan forward so I can stop obsessing over the bad things, or indeed deal with them.

Hope everyone else is less fraught and ms stays away to enjoy all the chocolate!

HomeintheSun · 12/04/2009 22:19

Pavlovthepregnantcat bless your DD sounds so lovely.

DH and I went shopping on Friday on the way home I felt so sick I don't know if it was ms (as this normally starts about 3pm) or DH's driving, I was like that when pregnant with DS, DH loved it cause it meant I had to drive everywhere.

I really want cream crackers at the moment, anything bland, I love mild cheese like edam and toast and butter. I hope everyone is well and not sick from too much chocolate.

Cies · 13/04/2009 08:07

Morning all!

Haven't checked in for a while because I've had my parents out to stay. By the end of it they were getting slightly on my nerves talking about the baby, what it's going to be called, whether it's going to be Christened, who to invite to the Christening etc etc. In the end I snapped and said "Let us just get the baby born safe and well first". It just seems like too much tempting fate, I'm only 9 weeks pg now. I know they are just excited about their first grandchild, but hey.

Having them here meant having wine and beer open in the flat, and the smell really did not appeal at all. I now have to head off to the bottle bank with the empties, and I think I'll take a clothes peg for my nose

Most of my symptoms seem to have gone - no more queasiness, I've got lots more energy. However, my boobs are still massive (for me!). I'm just counting down the days till 29th April for my scan.

Hope you all had a nice Easter. I'm not that keen on choc at the moment but had a couple of mini eggs - mmmmm.

Ninjacat · 13/04/2009 08:55

Good morning all. I'm driving to North Yorkshire this morning - DP has finally got his act together to take driving lessons but still a way to go yet, just hope he'll have passed in time to drive me to the hospital.
Any way I woke up in a panic this morning convinced I'd over dosed on chocolate - I definitely made up for all you non choc eaters out there
Any way the nausea is still constant but no actually being sick so hopefully I'll be ok driving for the next five hours.
I hope you all had a very happy Easter, back in a few days.

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/04/2009 09:27

HomeintheSun I get car sick too and normally I am never, ever car sick. Yesterday DH drove me and the DSs 15 miles to his parents house and I nearly threw up! Bizarre.

Good luck Ninjacat on your drive. I found that driving actually took my mind off feeling sick when I went to Northamptonshire the other day. You might feel rough the day after though...

I've had three really rough days and I'm supposed to be taking the DSs to Wales tomorrow. Last night I said to DH 'I can't do it!' but today feel a bit more optimistic. What's the worst that can happen?

Joycey29 · 13/04/2009 09:27

Feeling sick but not enough to make me feel ok to stay in bed!
Weirdly craving cold white wine and Co-op New york Deli sandwich. I am such a bad mother!!!!

pavlovthepregnantcat · 13/04/2009 10:05

I like the idea of being sick on too much chocolate...I was sick on not enough chocolate I had two mini eggs and a mini creme egg. Really not a good idea...

Has anyone tried the acupressure bands for sickness? It might help those with travel sickness...I have been using them and they have helped loads.

PootleTheFlump · 13/04/2009 11:24

cies - I know what you mean about people getting so excited, you feel mean wanting them to stop but so wish they wouldn't! I was trying to explain why I haven't told anyone at work (kind of job where I should) and it is mostly because all the questions of when will you go off/start mat leave etc will come out, and I am ficusing on still being pregnany tomorrow! Hopefully we can get to 12 wk scan and feel like we can start to have those conversations!

We must be similar dates, have got my scan on 28th, and also feel like symptoms are lifting. Feel less paranoid about it than yesterday. The cat jumped on my chest and my boobs hurt - I saw this as a good thing!!

Cannot believe the frequency with which chesse comes up in this thread!!

turtle23 · 13/04/2009 11:41

Wha-hey...she's in labour! Am overly excited about this one!

southernbelle77 · 13/04/2009 12:13

DH is currently eating something for lunch and it's making me feel even more queasy then I did before!! I am eating a cheese sandwich to compensate!!!! I could live on cheese and bread at the moment I think!! Ohhh, would love some big crusty bread and large lashings of cheese on top!!! Sorry for those of you not liking the whole cheese thing, but really, it is the best thing ever!!

We are off out soon to the cinema to take dd to see Monsters vs Aliens! Its the first time she has been to the cinema so we will see how long her concentration lasts! I just hope I can sit through it without feeling too nauseous!

Told dad and his wife yesterday. They were very excited for us although did tell them that we are obviously still rather cautious after last year. They live out the country 6 months of the year and will be gone when baby is due but only by a few weeks so will see if they change their plans! Probably not!!

LaraT · 13/04/2009 12:24

I am literally eating only bread, pasta and potatoes, but all with cheese. Although yesterday there was a breakthrough! - cauliflower cheese an actual vegetable, i was so proud of myself lol.

Tonight my boyfriend is taking me out for a meal. It's a lovely gesture, but i am exceptionally nervous about food smells etc. in public. The smell of meat cooking at home is nearly killing me at the moment!! hope he doesn't want to eat steak!

brightonbaby · 13/04/2009 14:17

Hi Everyone,

Happy Easter! You'll never guess what happened last week. I was outed! By my mw!! She left a message on the answerphone asking how my early scan had gone, when my due date was and that I should call to book in my nuchal scan.

But, she called an old phone number on my records, not my current number...which I had given her! And the old number is the number of my MIL!!!

Luckily, I have a good relationship with my MIL and she and her partner have been great, but I had wanted to tell my own mother first and only wanted to tell anyone after 12 weeks....I'm only 8 weeks.

I'm a bit sad that the moment of telling has been taken out of my hands. Why couldn't she have been a little more discrete...she didn't know my home situation...what if I had flatmates...

Oh dear.

Hope everyone is feeling all right today. Nice to see the sun back out

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/04/2009 16:02

Crusty bread and cheese: total yum. Or potatoes with grated cheese on top. Yesterday when we were having Sunday dinner I couldn't stop eating the roasted potatoes and parsnips.

brightonbaby your dim midwife! I'm sure she just didn't think about it.

I've just been gardening and for ages and ages it's been bugging me why our two cats always smelt of curry. I thought they'd been tarting it down the local curry house but I've now found out why they always smell of curry and it isn't so exciting as that. We have a plant called a curry plant, funnily enough, and now I smell of curry because I've been cutting it down. Yuck!

Well, the sun is really shining here today and it is lovely. I'm exciting about taking the DSs to Wales tomorrow, I just hope I don't feel too sick.

browntrout · 13/04/2009 17:32

brightonbaby - i was outed by my boss (had told her in confidence as there was a freeze on recruitment and so needed her to know) at a team meeting in front of 10 other people. She was mortified as you can imagine and although I was cross there wasnt much I could do about it as it had clearly slipped out. I was 7 weeks at the time!

ldeeanna · 13/04/2009 17:57

Brightonbaby Silly midwife!! Atleast you have got someone else to talk to about it now!
Mum and Dad took me away to St Ives this weekend-I hadn't told mum at this point and as soon as I saw them, I went for a few more wee's than normal people and they were asking 'Are you pregnant?' I denied!!
Until... mum caught me taking folic acid so mum knows now she seems a bit shocked!
Going to start on my Easter eggs!!Pavlov glad things are better-the worrying is horrible though xx

katster37 · 13/04/2009 19:02

Hello ladies! Am back from Cornwall, lovely to get out of London - had never been to Penzance / St Ives before and was gorgeous.

BrightonBaby OMG at your midwife!! I don't think medical things should be left on voicemails really, or anything like that - she should just have said her name and to ring her back. I'm sure she didn't mean to cause upset though but that's not much help to you.

Cies I know what you mean about family assuming everything will be OK. Almost instantly after I told my Dad (I was less than 4 weeks) he had decided he would drive to LOndon to pick us all up for Christmas and when would we be coming back? When would I finish work etc etc - it was really sweet but a bit scary!

Right going to catch up properly now. BeckyBendyLegs I hope you're not feeling too sick to enjoy Wales. I hope the weather stays good for you.

cupofteaplease · 13/04/2009 19:27

Hi all,

Hope everyone has had a lovely Easter. Things have been ok, but 2 of dh's friends killed themselves this weekend- such a waste. Goes to show how fragile all life is, not only the babies we are carrying

Anyway, moving on... I have my second 'reassurance' scan tomorrow- I'm horribly nervous. My last was 2 weeks ago and she measured the baby at being 10 days earlier than my dates (of which I am really confident- there is only one day we had unprotected sex before I left the country for a month!) So I am PRAYING the baby has grown at least in line with her dates, and hopefully caught up a bit with mine! I'll post tomorrow lunchtime with the result.

On a brighter note, my dd2 made me laugh this evening. She is 22 months but quite forward in her speech. I'd just put her to bed when she called me, 'Mummy come quick!' So I went back to her room and asked what was wrong and she replied, 'there's a spider and a monster in my bed!' I was almost crying with laughter, what an imagination!

Can't wait to find out what character this little bean will have

HomeintheSun · 13/04/2009 20:32

cupofteaplease good luck with the scan tomorrow, I hope everything is as it should be.
I've got me dating scan on the 27th when I'll be about to go into my 13th week, I don't know why but I don't feel very confident, I still have ms (in the afternoon) my boobs are still tender although that could just be the amount of times DS digs his elbows into them and I am weeing alot more at night. For some reason I love the smell of our kitchen wipes and hate the smell of the bread cooking, does that make me strange?
