Oh, Boff, he may be a bit surprised when you tell him, but from what you've said he'll be much, much happier there than at his current school. So you're doing the right thing and his wobbly should be short-lived (though I know you could do without it right now!).

DS said to me yesterday that he wanted us to move to Marseille before he moves up a class, because he doesn't like the teachers at the next level in his school. I haven't told him yet that we are not moving to Marseille, because I want to know where we are living before I say anything, in case it all goes tits up again.

Nutty, I did get a rest, in that I was lying down for about an hour. But the constantly being dragged out of sleep was a bit hard to take!

Bleu, if your regular bowel movements are a sign of impending labour then this LO is staying put at least until my deadline of April 6th, as I am experiencing the opposite, in spite of major intake of muesli, oatflakes and other usually reliable substances. TMI?

OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:23

agree with nutty, he will easily keep up with old friends in the villiage and have another lot in next village = loads of birthday presents!

AuldAlliance · 30/03/2009 19:25

Oddeyes:
smoked salmon? foie gras? How mad are you prepared to go?

Lots of drinks if you're planning on BFing.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:28

Oddeyes - get some champagne in there too !!!

I am very reassured that you use bribery too, OddEyes. And good points about two sets of friends.

Hope the parents are nice at the other school. I don't actually know any of them, so my cosy little swapping child arrangements will probably all come to an end now as well. Bit of a shame, as we had a long association with the current school, and knew loads of people there. I really wanted to send DS2 to the private school, where we do know a few people, but we just can't afford it, sadly. Don't know how other people manage it.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:35

Boffin - could you not try for a subsidised place?

OP posts:
OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:35

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:37

OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:41

thanks auld, salmon added along with more cheese and yummy crackers, trying to think of that kind of food you can just open the fridge, pile on a plate and eat whilst breast feeding...

OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:43

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:46

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:48

OP posts:
OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:50

sorry, thanks though all your ideas are on the list, bar the butter which already have. your a star!

OddEyes · 30/03/2009 19:51

really looking forward to coming home now to the food, guessing there will be other priorities that should be higher up my list but...

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 19:52

snort Nutty, there is no way with two of us employed, even if we don't have a brass farthing left at the end of the month, that we will get a subsidised place in this day and age. Independent schools around here seem to be for the super rich and the super poor, not for those of us in the middle with jobs and no company to float off on the stock exchange.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 19:53

Actually I lied ... I do know how my friends manage it and that is basically because the children's grandparents pay the fees. Normal people can't afford it.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:58

Oddeyes - a girl has to replace her nutrients after all, highest priority surely

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 19:59

OP posts:
mathsmummy27 · 30/03/2009 20:02

Is it wrong that I'm this full and still thinking about fois gras and champagne? !!
