Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 12:41

Afraid to eat anything for biting my tongue or cheek and not realising it...
I'm hungry! [whiney emoticon]

surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 12:43

Hi all
back from GP.
Have some Gaviscon and thrush cream yes, it's back with a vengeance - although I will be using the bicarb again!

Everything else was ok. He seemed to think the pains I had with the tightenings on friday were the baby being pushed down but I didn't think second/third etc babies engaged til labour?

Springy/Ging, I didn't find childbirth too bad at all last time. Yes of course it hurt but I never felt like I couldn't cope, was more excited than anything, and straight after I said 'I want to do that again!', was on such a high! Now I'm nearing due date I am a bit anxious but I think that's to be expected for anyone really.

I am so tired today, I just fell asleep on the sofa with the laptop! Have a coffee now and am eating an Easter egg I bought my niece

Have washing all over the place, ironed, and I really need to get it all away, and have all the bed sheets to hang outside.

Need to get motivated, need to get motivated...need to do some office work too. Am I the only one still not on maternity leave?

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 12:45

Oh that reminds me... could my sore to wipe bits be thrush -or the beginnings of it? I've got no itching which I always thought came with...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 12:47

Bleu - have a milkshake that will help.

Suprise - why arent you on mat leave??? crazy lady!! xx

SpringySunshine · 30/03/2009 12:48

Bleu, after I'd had my first dental anaesthetic (I had to have teeth removed for orthodontistry), I went home with the gauze wedged in the new gap in my mouth to stop it bleeding & whatever.

When I needed to remove the gauze to swill salt water around my mouth, I spent a good 3 or 4 minutes trying to yank it out before I got frustrated enough to go & look in a mirror to see why it was refusing to budge. Turns out I'd been sitting there pulling my lip for minutes & not had a clue

surprise, sorry that you're suffering with thrush again. & that you're still working! When do you finish?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 12:48

do you have white cottage cheesy discharge?? if so then probably.

OP posts:
surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 12:48

mine is just sore Bleu. Around top part, kind of above where you wee from, clit area and the vulval lips but not down by vaginal entrance (sorry if TMI but trying to describe!). GP said that's external thrush and just gave me cream, said could take 5 days to clear up though. Just want it gone by childbirth time!

SpringySunshine · 30/03/2009 12:49

I was just about to go & start thinking about lunch, Nutty - thanks for that

surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 12:50

Nutty - I don't have the discharge, apparently that is internal thrush and mine is external.

I start mat leave on friday but probably will be carrying on with bits throughout until I go back in July. Am SE from home though so not too bad really and believe me, I am only still working because I'm not entitled to SMP or MA.

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 12:50

Ginger, if childbirth was that bad I woulnd't have had four of the buggers. I was a bit freaked out the first time but that was entirely attributable to my treatment at the hospital. Once I had sorted that out in my mind, it was plain sailing. Just remember that it's important to chillax and do things on your own terms, following what your body tells you, and it will be fine. And read the min min story in the funniest bits of childbirth thread - that still makes me PMSL every time I think about it!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 12:50

Strange but true fact : did you know that the stuff they inject into your gums to deaden your teeth i.e novocaine etc is a form of cocaine??

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 12:52

Suprise - ahhh didnt know that, thanks Bleu ignore me

Sorry Springy

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 12:52

Often it's not thrush but a bit of trouser rubbing damage, you know. I wop a load of Eumovate on overnight and that gets the bits back to normal.

surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 12:52

I heard that Nutty but I didn't realise they still used it!

SpringySunshine · 30/03/2009 12:54

When I was in hospital last Wednesday, one of the swabs was because they thought I might have thrush. I've not heard anything yet - does that mean that I don't? I've not had any itching or cottage cheese, either...

surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 12:55

I didn't know either Nutty, I didn't think it was thrush because of the lack of discharge, and I thought it was what Boff is explaining and have been walking around with nightie on and no knickers when I can!! But I thought I had to mention it today and that's what he said it was.

gingersarah · 30/03/2009 12:59

Right I am going to find the min min story.

Lulu and Nutty and other mothers of dds - what do you call their fanjos?

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 12:59

hmmm discharge has been normal...
And the sensitivity is more in the entrance area than anywhere else...feels like I've had some strenuous sex...but Dh has been scared off since the rolling back pains so unless I'm servicing myself while I sleep it's not that... I'll ask the MW on Thursday if I've not had the baby by then.

Making some mac and cheese...really soft like so technically I can swallow it whole...assuming I can get it far enough in that it doesn't fall right back out... I can hardly feel my chin...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 13:01

Ginger - DD's is her FlooBeDoo

OP posts:
surprisenumber3 · 30/03/2009 13:03

floobedoo, love it!

My friends DD's is her 'twinkle' and her DS's is his 'tinkle' which I always think sounds so sweet!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 30/03/2009 13:08

LOL mine is a Floo as its got hair according to dd my BeDoo must have got lost during puberty

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 13:08

girl bits or vagina in this house
privates or willy for the DSs.

Depends who is nearby!

Bleuravin · 30/03/2009 13:09

I also wanted to ask...
When the baby drops does the belly ALWAYS drop? Because while Sprite is Definitely low and I can feel engagement and pressure between my legs...the space between my breasts and the top of my belly has not really increased...my belly has just got Longer, and the bulge is now as low as it can get... Does this sound like what's happened to any of the rest of you? (Because no one in my family has experienced the belly not moving down too)

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 13:10

DD wanted to organise a production of the Vagina Monologues at her secondary school just before she left, and the head politely declined.

It became a matter of great amusement to this household how many different ways around the word the head could find in order not to say it. A sort of vaginal equivalent of 'The Scottish Play' !!

BoffinMum · 30/03/2009 13:13

Near the end, you tend to feel a bit low slung, Bleu, with non specific fanjo and groin pressure. Some bellies drop more obviously than others. Depends if you're a current bun type of gal or a wide gal, in terms of bumps.
