Ooh, thanks - I will look for lovely boy clothes, then

Thanks for the welcome, Nutty - at least I'm in good company As Schulte says, I was just being nosy

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 22:13

i want labour to happen now!!!

with me i just started to have contractions for a few hours til the plug and the show and then off to hospital. would be quite happy for it to happen the same way again.

I had over a week of stopping and starting latent labour..probably why I'm not complaining about lack of signs atm, as I'd rather have a quick birth out of nowhere, even if it's late!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 22:15

Springy - lol you would have felt cheated if you hadnt had the full experience i'm sure lol

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 22:19

it's crazy though really, bit like a lottery as in no 2 pregnancies are the same so you cant really predict how your labour is going to be (unless you have an elective CS but even they can be different each time)

DH keeps asking me hopefully whether there are any stirrings. He says he could really do with going on holiday now.

HOLIDAY???

That is certainly not how I remember it. Leaking orifices, sore nipples and sleepless jet lag prickly eyes, perhaps, but not a holiday!

SpringySunshine · 29/03/2009 22:27

All I need now is rocketing blood pressure & protein in my urine

& after all of my false starts, I don't think I'm going to believe that I'm actually in labour until the head's hanging out. & even then, I'll take some persuading.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 22:28

ROFL at holiday!!!! hahahahahaha

holiday

mathsmummy27 · 29/03/2009 22:32

Boff, how did your labours start?

SpringySunshine · 29/03/2009 22:36

It's not going to be a holiday?

mathsmummy27 · 29/03/2009 22:49

where IS everyone? you'd better not be having babies.....

gingersarah · 29/03/2009 22:53

I am worried about labour for the first time. Previously I had an "ignorance is bliss" take on the whole thing - it was going to happen, can't be avoided, something to deal with when the time came. Now I feel so knackered and inadequate I am wondering how on earth I am going to cope. I cried the other day when a bus driver shouted at me for getting on too slowly. How am I going to manage with 24 hours continual pain and physical effort?
Having a v. tragic day still, as you can see.
I went to the out-of-hours doctor about some weird perhaps-non-pg-related symptoms and he has advised me to see a breast specialist. This is a. scary and b. no fun as this doctor can't refer me and I have to go back to the GP who told me to get lost when this first came up in order to get the referral. Getting very melodramatic imagining poor little orphan baby and DP abandoned to cope as single p. Tell me to shut up.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:02

bloody hell ginger ((seriously squeezy hugs))
first of all at the asshole bus driver who shouldn't have been so damned rude. I would've felt the same as you after a comment like that.
You will get loads of support during labour, your body is designed for it and as long as you trust it to do it's job properly, and try to relax, it'll be ok.
Sorry to hear you have other health worries. I cannot offer advice there but you have support from all of us. Talk all you need to xxx

mathsmummy27 · 29/03/2009 23:03

ginger...have some sympathy and/or RLT.
Bus driver was clearly an eejit and not worth worrying about. Doctor would have referred you asap if he was at all worried surely so stop imagining the worst. Hopefully you can take out your frustrations on the silly GP who messed up?

((ginger))

SpringySunshine · 29/03/2009 23:04

Sarah It's just a bad day - things won't feel so bad tomorrow. & we're bound to be getting a few pre-performance nerves. Just think of how much better you'll feel once you've had the baby - you'll have your body back & a lovely new baby to dote on. Labour is just one day in your life & it'll be totally worth it.

What are your weird symptoms? If I'm not being too nosy - I don't mind if you tell me to get lost

mathsmummy27 · 29/03/2009 23:04

ooh glad you're here too trista.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:09

ginger, I know this is weird, but it's normal for a woman to become very aware of her own mortality around the time of giving birth/once they have children. Suddenly it's not just you anymore, there is a small person who depends on you for everything. It's one of the many scary things that comes along with being a parent.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:12

I'm here MM, no chance of me being away having my baby for a while yet. It seems very comfortable in there.

gingersarah · 29/03/2009 23:22

Thank you Trista. I know the driver was just an asshole he didn't bother me for long.
I am sure everything is fine really I just need to get things checked out.
sorry to be such a moaner today.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:30

Dont be sorry, you're entitled to a moan, just like the rest of us.
Try not to think the worst, although I understand it must be difficult.

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:31

Right guys, sod this. I'm getting this baby out. Gonna do nipple stimulation til it brings on labour!
Here goes.....

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 23:36

Gingersarah ((big hugs))xx bus driver was a knobhead, good luck with the referal, i hope the doctor sorts it out for you xx feel free to have a moan/whinge whenever the rest of us do

OP posts:
SmuttyNuttyTaff · 29/03/2009 23:38

Trista - lol at nipple stim, dont rub them away altogether mind!!

OP posts:
tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:40

well it's made my tummy rock hard and the baby has hiccups, not really the plan!

tristaleejac · 29/03/2009 23:41

ha ha it would take a looooong time to rub my nips away, they could be used as helipads, they're bloody huge
